Wait... I just realized something funny! Sloth and Pride are the first demons you meet in the Harrowing and are also the same type of demons behind the Circle's fall later on who are your boss fights!

I remember a codex in the library saying that the elves were surrounding a large mountain or something and carved a statue of Elgar'nan out of it. I think they desecrated the Titan Mythal killed and drained its blood (lyrium) for more power. It sounds like the same statue on which thousands of elvhen were sacrificed to manage to get the carving done within a single day Now that I think about it, what if there was an actual reason for such a ridiculous effort ? At first I thought of it as yet another proof of the madness of these arrogant evanuris but maybe there was a need to "desacrate" it very fast idk

At first I saw them as big Golems like Shale, then I remembered Dagna's weird vision about being really tall and connected to everything. I am wondering if since dwarves are the "severed arm" of a Titan, does that mean the broken bits of Titan became the dwarves? Dying and returning to the Stone could be literal if that is true.

Wasn't "Mouse" in Harrowing a pride demon though? (I may be wrong) Also there was a Spirit of Valor in the Fade too. Yes and some think he was the Pride Demon we fight that possessed Uldred but I kind of liked him and he seemed helpful and not evil so I hope it wasn't him. He seemed to be a good demon and Solas did say if you know how to be with them they can become fast friends. Unlike Sloth who was a bit creepy and can attack you. Mouse was only being all nice and helpful (whilst also lying to you about who/what he really was) to try to trick you into letting him possess you. He was the real test after all.

I know you have to be let go for the story but I like how he is more of a teacher even when you reveal him.

If you believed Mouse and said, "Yeah sure I'll take you back to the physical world, come with me!" then what should have happened was a cutscene back in the Circle tower where you character turned into an abomination and the templars killed you. Then you have to reload. Because that was the whole point of the test - are you smart enough/strong willed enough to NOT let a demon possess you. Making it unfailable (yes that is now a word) just kind of cheapened the whole idea.

I had no idea he let you go if you let him go back with you. I'll have to look up some youtube videos on that...I would have thought that was a sure way to fail the test and get killed by the templars when you left the Fade.

If you refuse to aid the Dragon keeping the evil sealed within, the games ends right there saying the seal broke and everyone died! It also happened in Witcher 2. I lost to a fist fight and got hung and if I angered Roche I get killed at the very beginning of the interrogation! I could see that with Trespasser too. It would be like "refuse" in ME. You tell Solas you will help him, you both go through the mirror and it ends saying the Veil was torn and everyone died.

I've been enjoying games like that for years! Chrono Trigger gives you many endings based on when you choose to fight the final boss. Depending on what you accomplished it can affect the ending greatly! Star Ocean 2 had almost 80 endings and you could gt together with a companion in it based on the choices given during private moments with them in towns. I still feel the ball was dropped in DA2 because you only had 2 choices but to me, DA2 was an intro to DAI. Also I know Solas is not Morrigan but the male Wardens got to leave with her when she entered the Eluvian... why must our Lavellen's get amputated and dumped? Heck the male Warden could stab Morrigan. Why can't we run Solas through too??

I was all like SRSLY WTF?! >< I admit though, the first time I played the Mage origin I was thinking aww poor guy. Then the last fight with the rage demon and I'm thinking well that was too easy and Mouse is saying ooo you're so powerful take me back with you! And it clicked and I was like ok now I get it.
I would kinda love to see them try to put Solas through a Harrowing. It would be hilarious. Because you know he'd be like, You've got to be kidding me, you people are morons. Then he'd just make friends with whatever spirit/demon they send and wander around the Fade for awhile.

That comment about Solas and the Harrowing just reminded me of something I am hoping someone can help elaborate. Is Sera a Mage or secretly learned the elven language despite her dislike of them? Cole says her ears always point to the Fade, she had a weird moment that with Solas asking her to describe what she saw and when Solas spoke in elven to her she knew what he was saying or seemed to at least. Solas and Cole both seemed to push her a lot to the Fade, Elves and Magic and we know both are anything but normal beings.

It sounds like the same statue on which thousands of elvhen were sacrificed to manage to get the carving done within a single day Now that I think about it, what if there was an actual reason for such a ridiculous effort ? At first I thought of it as yet another proof of the madness of these arrogant evanuris but maybe there was a need to "desacrate" it very fast idk Oh wow... I think you're right! It IS the same statue! I am still trying to wrap my head around a Titan's appearance. We were inside of one and we know Mythal killed one but what are they? Tin-foil hat time: It's been awhile for me, so hopefully this doesn't come off too crazy. I believe that Metroid Prime series has had a big inspiration on the ME series and DA. When the idea of Lyrium was first introduced in DA:O, I thought of Phazon, from the planet Phaaze. It is mined and sold by pirates, much like Lyrium is mined and sold in DA - there are many similarities that I could easily ramble on about, but I'm gonna try to keep this specifically Titan focused. I think the Titans are inspired (not exactly the same) by Phaaze, a living planet that produces Phaaze, its blood essentially which looks like the following: When Phazon mutates (this could be natural, it isn't clear), it looks like this: Okay, so...Titans, I believe are inspired by this idea - not necessarily based on. I theorize the Titans are the planet that Thedas is on and is consciously separated into different parts, effectively like being different entities in one. The dwarves are native children born from the Titans without the influence of the various realms (and yes, I have my Metroid theories (Aether and Dark Aether) for those too, but don't want to get too TL;DR - although I probably already did.

Heck the male Warden could stab Morrigan. Why can't we run Solas through too?? There weren't even really two choices with DA2. The ending was exactly the same ... you fight Orsino and Meredith both and Hawke disappears eventually even if you become Viscount. I got rather frustrated with choices have NO consequences in DA2. There was no way to save your mother at all, even if you help Grace out she hates your guts and tries to kill you, the Qunari attack no matter what you do, etc. I understand why they don't let you leave with Solas. They needed all Inquisitors to be in roughly the same situation at the end for story reasons. And by roughly the same situation I mean they all need to be available. If you sod off with Solas then that Inquisitor is kinda not usable. I suppose they *could* have let you try to stab him but he could have stopped you so easily it wouldn't even be funny. And not even by turning you to stone, he could just paralyze you for a few minutes and leave. With Morrigan the Warden was uninjured and in close range at least.

IllustriousT I love that idea! It makes a lot of sense. Question is, how did Mythal kill one? Was there a core she found or did it form into something tangible? Elessara I have never been stabbed in the back so much than I was in DA2! Even my best friend! And Orsino... WTF I just joined you and you went all Harvester on me?? I know but he really needed something besides a kiss

Honestly Solas was probably just trying to get Sera to admit she was an elf and to show her there really are differences in being human and being an elf. She may have some latent talent with magic. I do love that banter with her and Solas where he offers to see if she has them and to introduce her to spirits.

Thanks for helping with all my questions and theories guys! I am compiling a bunch of ideas and wish to see if anything actually happens come DA4 lol and also after replaying both DAO and DA2 after Trespasser it really gives me a whole new perspective on things. I hope to share my composition when it's completed!

I know but he really needed something besides a kiss Mythal is part of realm that allows for the unreal - the imagination, the what ifs, the maybes. Titans are I believe, unmovable, in many senses, including their minds. They are bound by laws of nature - mathematically almost. 2+2= 4 -- Always. You try to convince a mathematician that 2+2 can equal whatever you want it to equal, then its mind blowing. I think Mythal, killed the Titan by corrupting its very nature; by moving the unmovable. She destroyed its mind, but since Titans are separated consciously, it was only a piece.
