The Blanketfort (crying and throwing up) - The Official Solas Thread [Spoilers]

They have said that Rook will remind Solas of himself. However, whilst the other faction backgrounds have them as something of a maverick, there are real parallels in a Shadow Dragon:

They were adopted into a military family - Solas was likely called from the Fade to become part of Mythal's military forces.
They accompany a dignitary on an important mission into enemy territory - Solas would appear to have been bodyguard or spymaster for Mythal
They successfully rescue a group of slaves and return with them to safety - Solas rescues slaves and frees them from Evanuris control.
As a result of their actions they draw the attention their enemies, the mage elite Venatori - Solas is dubbed Fen'Harel by the Evanuris
The leaders of the Shadow Dragons recommend they go into hiding/keep a lower profile, so they join the Veilguard and end up fighting the elven gods - Solas becomes a rebel leader but often working in disguise as he seeks to undermine the rule of the elven gods.

I can certainly see the parallels there between the two and so my Rook would too and likely be more sympathetic to Solas as a result.

Okay, what kind of monster choses to say Solas refuses to help his own people? Seriously!  
Damn, he looks good, though.  Still like him better without hair, but...whew.

I assume the agent's injury had something to do with blight. But I think Solas would at least try to help.

The hair color is...not what I would pick? I was hoping for something closer to his concept art. Dark auburn or brown. It's fine, though.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this new nickname. Wolf. Hmm. Perhaps it's just too new to my ears.

Is this memory of Ghil pre-apotheosis? Interesting. Was she one of his agents who turned on him? Is it the angles of her face he can carve from memory? So many questions!

I think we can at least safely say Ghilly was a spirit of creativity. Not sure about her being the betrayal that burned him anymore by that clip. Like, he was clearly upset with her, but it doesn't scream "I can carve betrayal's face from memory and now I can't trust anyone anymore" to me. Hmm. I always leaned towards the idea that the "her" in his quote was Mythal and her *being* betrayed and murdered was the betrayal he meant. Like he could still remember the shock on her face, essentially. Or just could still remember her face and was reminded everytime that those she trusted (perhaps including her mate and children) killed her for power.*



*As far as he knows. I still think his luck means he misjudged at least one of them.

It's also interesting what his agent said. "You are greater than any of them."
Is that just a bit of idol worship, or could he actually be the strongest of the gods?
