The Blanketfort (crying and throwing up) - The Official Solas Thread [Spoilers]

I love the Solas Honey Wine picture. It goes really well with my story about what the Lavellan clan is getting up to in Wycome. I decided that the Keeper has taken a particular interest in producing mead to help with the revelry, to an old Dalish recipe. Then she also sells hangover cures, also to an old Dalish recipe. It is going remarkably well. It is fortunate that they decided to place them in the revelry capital of Thedas.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's theories because the moment I think I'm on to something, I discover something else that seems to contradict it. I've been working with only half the information up until recently because I am always on good terms with Solas but I think he sometimes is more revealing when you are not, or at least when he is really upset about something because then I think he lets things slip without meaning to. I was looking again at what he says if you drink from the Well, when he is really upset, and I'm almost sure is applies to him:

"You are Mythal's creature now. Everything you do, whether you know it or not, will be for her. You have given up a part of yourself."

Why was he always shown with Mythal in the old statues and pictures? What hold did she have on him?

I still harp on about Abelas' words, "No boon of Mythal's, comes without cost." My thoughts are that Solas' knows first hand, this to be true. And that he knows it further, after getting her "power", in the vanilla game ending teaser. 

Have more to say, but not the time for a lengthier essay. Will bring one to the table when I get a chance.

I mainly lurked in the previous thread, but I lurked a lot! Good to see this thing still going!

Was informed today that the Solas thread was the second largest thread on the BSN, with over 6k, after the Tali thread which had 10k.

I now see this idea as having a bit more credence than I did before. I still think Solas wants the ends he wants of his own free will, but I dunno. Maybe this will come into play that if/once his desires start deviating from his current goals. And then he'll find he can't stop. Or perhaps he won't even realize that he can't stop, it will be that convoluted. Like the horror movie the Mirror or something.

It could be interesting drama. And sad, especially considering its clear he cared for Mythal.

Off the top of my head, the one main problem with it is he seemingly zaps Mythal at the end of Inquisition. According to Flemeth in DA2, however, there's more than one Flemythal floating around, or it's possible there's more than one Flemythal floating around... so perhaps he knew that and just zapped a copy for a power boost? 

All very iffy, I know, but perhaps a possibility considering how Solas describes a geas. (Well-quoted, by the way)

Yes, it's very possible he's not under a geas. Him being a guardian of Mythal, however, rather than an equal... kinda threw me when that was revealed. But there's tons we don't know about ancient elven society, so many, many things are possible.
