I don't think that would happen. The market has decided that it isn't that interested in MMOs anymore, the people that want to play them are playing the ones that are existing and have developed friendships and the like that they probably don't want to abandon for the next big thing. There have been too many meh releases that are just successful enough to please shareholders, but don't have the following as the ones that already exist and die a slow death. To me World of Warcraft was a fluke and a perfect storm and the exact right moment in time and I don't think anyone including Blizzard can catch that lightning again. My hope is actually the opposite and that they scale back the game to be closer to what Mass Effect 1 was for then the focus can be on exactly what people are expecting from a BioWare game and that is a tight story with developed characters and not being padded out to try and generate more hours of gameplay. Don't get me wrong. I'd rather had a straight up SP game. I just don't think EA is interested. Fair, I just think EA would be more interested in a SP game then a classic MMO at this point for at least in my eyes they are limiting linear games because they are risky, but I think classic MMOs are more risky.

We can add even more lootboxes as a confirmed feature in the next Mass Effect, which probably is never coming out as well.

Yes. March 21 2022, ME4 will be released. Shepard and crew/squadmates including Miranda, return to make sure the threat of the reapers are completely eradicated after they were destroyed. The game will feature a trip to darkspace, learning more about the Initiative and what role Cerberus had in it and possibly Shepard visiting Leviathan again. The player will also learn the punishment to the asari for not revealing the artifact earlier. The Honorable Mr. Rupert Gardner, the greatest chef in the universe, will return to the Normandy to make his favorite dish, Calamari gumbo, for the Commander. There will be new discoveries. The opportunity for the player to play as a member of the crew or as a squadmate in the game. Will Shepard get a chance to seek revenge against Sam for losing at chess? Will James get a chance to reclaim his record for chin ups? Will Garrus get back at the Commander for one upping him after shooting bottles? Will the windows break the next time Tali sings? To find out and more, you can preorder the game. Why darkspace? In ME1, the player learns that the Citadel is a relay that the reapers use to start the harvest. Obviously there's another relay in darkspace. Is it another Citadel relay? Don't know. That's one of the reasons why Shepard is going to travel to darkspace to find out. There have been a thread created asking what people believe is hidden in darkspace or what the reapers do for 50 000 years. I mentioned that I believe there's a giant space station, similar to the Citadel, that the reapers use during their down time. They dock with the station. A giant cord is attached to the reaper putting it into sleep mode. It runs a diagnostic check of the reaper, then adds any upgrades the reaper needs. At the same time, drones and mechs give the reaper a once over. Checking its oil, adding air to the tires, repairing scratches and dents, and grease the fittings. Of course this is all speculation on my part. This is where Bioware can run wild with their imagination. After making sure the reapers are no longer a threat, Shepard and squad plant explosives every where. Once they go back through the relay, the explosives will be detonated destroying everything. The beginning of the game can take place shortly after the events of ME3. Hackett pays Shepard a visit in the hospital. Both talk about what happened and what will happen with the reapers destroyed. He mentions that he's been talking with the council, and like him, want to know if the threat has truly been destroyed. He suggests that Shepard take his/her team to darkspace to make sure the reapers are no longer a threat. At the moment they have no idea how to get there. Shepard does mention that TIM said, on Thessia, that he's been fighting the reapers longer than you can imagine. Hackett suggests that Shepard heads back to Cronos to look for clues. At this point the screen will go fade-to-black. Its six months later, Shepard is in good shape and the team is back on the Normandy. Since Shepard is heading to Cronos, he adds Miranda to the roster to help. And as I mentioned, Mr. Gardner will join the crew to make his gumbo. With regards to the relays, I would guess it wouldn't take long to repair them. In the cut it shows only the rings being destroyed. While searching on Cronos, they come across a secret area. Once opened they encounter Jana. For those who don't know/remember her, she is the one seen in the video log with TIM talking before he gets his implants. She ends up offering all kinds of information about Cerberus and TIM. She even will mention a few things about the Andromeda Initiative. She even mentions that TIM believed he found where in darkspace the repears hibernate. He learned it from the IFF that was found in ME2. Not only was the IFF used to get to the galactic core, but it was also used to get through the Citadel relay into this galaxy. At this point, Shepard keeps her on the Normandy throughout the game since she may have additional information that can help. When talking to holo-Hackett he will say that his people also found the same thing. The reapers have an IFF they use to enter and exit the galaxy via the Citadel relay. The quickest way to darkspace is to use the Citadel, but its damaged. True, but how much damage did it suffer? In the cut, if ems is above 2600, the only damage the relays suffer is the rings being destroyed. I know when the ships are flying by that one relay, its severely damaged, but I believe that to be an oversight on Bioware's part. The player even sees the SR-2 leave the unknown planet under it own power. What if that is applied to the Citadel? In the cut it shows the same amount of damage the Citadel suffers no matter ems, except below 1750. One could say that's another oversight and say that with high ems, the crucible doesn't explode and that the only damage the Citadel suffers is power outages. I know its a stretch, but....... As far as new discoveries, that can come from opening a couple of relays to new clusters to be explored and even find a new species. What if one of the discoveries is a species from long ago? During their time, they chose to shut all comms, and dig underground to hide. They built cities underground with access to water and other basic needs. Just a thought. Play as a squadmate and a crewmember. This also is where Bioware can use their imagination. Most of the time spent is on the Normandy traveling from one point to another. Look at Samantha. When she talks to Shepard, she mentions a time when she was bartending....At that point, the player relives that moment by playing Samantha as a bartender. It doesn't have to be that. It could be the first time she played chess or better yet, relive her first day in basic training. I'm sure folks get the idea. I'll use another example. Look at Garrus. He and Shepard are talking when Shepard asks him what mission he's been on that he likes when he was in the turian military. The player plays as Garrus to relive that mission. This can apply to the other characters as well. I would even add Shepard. You relive a mission from her/his past based on their background that was chosen. I mentioned Leviathan since it can possibly give more information about the reapers and what Shepard might encounter in darkspace.

Where would they get fuel and resources in darkspace? How much fuel would they need? If they're full when using the relay to get to darkpace, and if there's a space station near the relay, fuel wouldn't be a concern. The other thing before going to darkspace, they send drones to investigate what is near the relay. I would not be surprised if a space station is close by. Resources? I'm sure the SR-2 has adequate space to carry additional resources if needed.

A space station that housed Tens(hundreds?)of thousands of Reapers would have a lot of exploration potential. a interesting idea, IMO. But, unless they put some kind of societies there not much in the dialogue sections of the game. But, I guess there could be millions or billions in slave races there, the death of the reapers maybe freed them from indoctrination and now they are coping with it with different factions forming and with access to reaper level tech being a potential threat to the galaxy. Or it could go more of a dark horror route and this isn't talking just dark corridors and left over monsters.

That's what's wrong with ME now. It has lost its focus. I was never into ME for the exploration. Both ME 1 and Andromeda exploration was garbage. Exploration was never a selling point for me. I bought BW games for characters and stories. There is a reason why ME2 is my favorite. It focused on the characters and the overall collecter storyline (that I enjoyed). I'd rather a story of the Normandy one last stand in dark space with nothing to explore and the characters I loved. Than the boring wide open maps that Andromeda offered with barely anything to do in them.

Or it could go more of a dark horror route and this isn't talking just dark corridors and left over monsters. One of my ideas is having a player taking control of Cerberus Phantom(the several potential backstories for him/her) and going into dark space and going the extremely dark horror route. also One of side ideas for a Cerberus Phantom that you build a relationship with, similar what we did with Shepard and first explore the dark side of the Mass Effect(ranging the nastier side of Council, System Alliance and other factions) then flows into a much darker ME3 and see, smell and feel the Desperation of the War and fight new factions and Reaper Sleeper Agents of all factions and go into the Reaper Death Camps in all areas of the galaxy and with the option to mercy kill the prisoners there. the Mass Effect Game with the Cerberus Phantom as a Player Character and going into Dark Space would be called Mass Effect: Operation Dark Star. Best way I would describes what is in my head is a Horror Surival game with a massive stealth element and the 3 face rotation Man would be an avatar for Harbringer and he would be the final boss for the Cerberus Phantom. The Phantom would remember the Destruction of Cerberus in an official capacity that his cell is the Last of the Cerberus functional Cells and personally blames Harbringer for the Destruction of Cerberus and genocide of the Milk Way Species. Well best way I would explain the tone of voice is an intense Tranquil Fury that will send chills down Harbringer's spine. Also During the Reaper War, Reapers did target his cell as a High Proity Target for Termination outside of Shepard's crew.

Yes... yes...yes . Have a follow up conversation with Leviathan. Brilliant idea. Seriously. Leviathan SHOULD reveal new information now that the Reapers are gone. Maybe Vigil knows more info about the protheans that would help the races take the next evolutionary steps into the future. This opens up many interesting possibilities.

Perfect meme for the current ME-4 situation. Have you heard this song from the 1950's? Very apropos.
Here's another song that speaks to my feelings about the OT:

This thread is back after a long while... There is bits of news. Pieces. An interview Gamble did where he mentions possible future Andromeda and/or Milky Way adventures. A few YouTube videos covering possible evidence of pre production work. Some info is hard to find. Some is as easy as typing Mass Effect into Google.
