When you go to the tavern in Orzammar in DAO, there's a guy drunkenly singing in the old dwarven language - but the subtitles above his head are in English/Common. I thought that was neat. I assume everyone can see it but it'd be a cool attention to detail if it was dwarf-only. Wait, that was supposed to be dwarvish? I thought he was just supposed to be so drunk he couldn't actually talk. Definitely dwarvish.

Honestly, I think they never should have messed with the way elves were in DAO. They were pretty distinct already - I don't know about everyone else, but I could tell that a character was an elf without having to see the ears. Their faces looked pretty distinct from humans. Same with bodies - they were petite, but not to the point where they looked like actual stick figures. DAI was a step up from DA2, but elves' bodies are atrocious, imo. I can't wear the skyhold jammies with my fLavellan without the Custom Bodies mod. But to be fair, the only one whose body looks good in skyhold jimjams is a human male, imo. So, for DA4 - better proportions for everyone, but especially elves. Oh the body for the female elf weirded me out. Female Elf bod reminded me of a lollipop. I also used the custom bod mod for F!lavellan lol I know they're supposed to be lithe(?) but it just looks so off.

I like that elves look like that.
They aren't supposed to look like humans. They're elves. They are literally a different species. You may as well complain that dwarves are too short.

well it doesn't matter how hard they tried though, is not like BioWare can't make them interesting enough like in the Bethesda Elder Scrolls saga or Blizzard with World of Warcraft for example anyway.

They can be slim compared to humans, but still look like they could do any kind of combat without breaking. They were done right in DAO. Zevran (and male elf model in general) even looked pretty ripped, but still obviosly elf-like. Smaller =/= emasciated. DAI elves look like they've never held anything heavier than a flower crown, and there's no way they could ever pull a bowstring with arms like those. To DAI's credit, the Dalish scout armor (female) actually has a much more sensible body model (the bare feet can f***k off though). I hate the DAI dwarf design too, at least females. DAI jacked up their proportions somehow. DAO gave them ape arms, but other than that, they actually looked pretty badass, now they look more like hobbits. About the DA elves in general - I actually like that they aren't the "Tolkien elves" for once. I guess the ancient elves/Evanuris were kinda more Tolkien-esque, but they're gone now so who cares anyway.

I think Josephine's romance would work for this if somewhere along the romance path she explicitly says they aren't having sex. Just cuz they're not having sex doesn't mean they aren't kissing or cuddling. Not all romantic relationships in real life are sexual for a variety of reasons. Sebastian was celibate; I don't think his romance emphasized that him and Hawke were actually together that well though so his isn't a great example. Well at least they could set up for having a sexual relationship as optional. That would defeat the purpose of having the romance be explicitly an asexual one.

I think on the elves thing, I prefer the Petite but muscular Zevran body type way over the "gamer bod" or painfully thin bod of DAI. I'd like them to cross DA2's alieness with DAO's body type.
I appreciate that I can make a crap ton of adjustments in the DAI CC to attempt the elven Tarrot card, for example. Bigger more obvious ears (that I nonetheless push against the skull, rather than make stick out) and bigger eyes that still don't cross the line into anime eyes. And adjusting the bridge of the nose and forehead to make them even with each other.
PS Please just keep the DAI CC and give us better hair. Do not give me MEA andromeda's CC, which took the control over so many things out of our hands.

"a wide range of optional excursions is offered"I know what the term optional means, however the kind of romance being discussed wouldn’t be possible if sex was only optional. The romance being discussed for hoping to be in the game is one where there is only one option: no sex.Just like there are romances where sex is mandatory.

Oh... *sigh.* It's cloud I'm responding to, but for anyone else that may be confused for legitimate reasons rather than dumb troll reasons, I'll explain my take on the Asexual thing. An Asexual person has no desire or need for sex. To make the character sex optional would either imply: A, the love interest is actually interested in sex, therefore not asexual B, the love interest is actually asexual, but consents to you putting your body on and in them anyway. Could there be a big drawn out consent discussion similar to the IRon Bull and BDSM so you know you're not raping your Asexual Love Interest? Sure? would you want there to be last moment for the "optional" sex? eh?

You know, I was always a tad disappointed that there never was an asexual romance option in the entire Mass Effect series. It seemed like such a missed opportunity especially since it could have been the chance for a truly alien romance.

Ah, Mordin, you'll always be the one that got away.
You know, I've always liked how Bioware romances don't necessarily end happily. I had issue with how Thane's death happened but I liked that he did die. The scene in the hospital was very moving. I know some people were hoping for a cure or expected there to be some way for him to live but I felt it would have been cheap: Thane's character was about him coming to terms with his illness, dealing with it and settling his affairs. The romance hadn't really been building to a happy ending. It's more about dealing with loss to come and enjoying what time is left as well as being upset when you aren't allowed that time.
