Trespasser has a crappy story, though. Depends on if the Inquisitor is returning as the protagonist or not. If they aren't and it is some new character, I completely agree with you. I know your stance on the issue, but how can your value of the story shift depending on that choice? I can understand if you'd consider it a crappy ending for the Inquisitor if there'll be a new protagonist in DA4, but the quality of the story is the same either way. Personally, I liked the overall plot and loved the lore reveals, as well as the set up for the future about Solas' and the Qunari's plots. Not so much the ending, but not because of what would it implicate if the next game will have a different PC or on the endings in themselves, but because they added a quite big variable based on the ending. It'd complicate having the Inquisitor back as the MC (and this is the very reason why it's clear they didn't create the endings with the intention of working on the Inquisitor in the future, at least at first), and it'd create complications if we'll ever return in the South.

It doesn't hold the Inq to anything doubly so for new protagonist.

They can learn so much from Odyssey's combat design to allow players to wield variety of diverse weapons, block, dodge, and parry movements as well as mechanics, and how to improve animations.
If it we're me, I would start with DA2 combat design as a foundation since it has decent speed and pacing. As well as Mass Effect tactical menu for using companions powers and abilities against enemies.

Also, for the 2H they could learn from For Honor how 2H should look and feel like fighting, parrying, blocking, and striking. They should recruit choreographers who has vast experience of HEMA and various fighting styles to create a Action/RPG experience.

I'd like the Hold command to work properly.
I'd also like them to gate weapons and armour by stats instead of class again. And therefore to control your stat allocation aswell.

Don't know if I've mentioned this or not, but another thing I'd like to see the Qunari be more...inhuman. inscrutable. Alien. Not just big humans that might or might not have horns.

Ideally this would be for any non human race. I liked how DA2 did both Qunari and elves, even if most of them looked the same. Dwarves have great lore and are my favorite race in the series, but it'd be cool if they looked a bit different than short humans. I'm kinda hoping we'll eventually see that the Kal'Sharok dwarves mutated to be more alien somehow. Maybe they're completely blind and rely solely on their stone sense to navigate? I'm not sure, something.

I'd like the Hold command to work properly. "When I say Hold I mean HOLD! I do NOT mean get out of safety to stand in front of the DRAGON BREATHING FIRE!"
Can't blame the Inquisitor if they want to remain retired, if it means never having to deal with this nightmare again.

- Make enemies an actual threat. In DAI, they move in slow motion and have small movesets.
- Make the melee rogue's animation great again
- Being able to visit Qunandar, just like how we were split between Orlais and Ferelden in DAI
- Allow players to be evil
- New specializations for warriors and rogues
- More gore. I miss being able to decapitate enemies.

In DAI, the attacks from a greatsword sound like you're hitting the enemy with a broom enveloped in a thick blanket.

I don't know if I have mentioned this already, but what I'd like to see is the amount of enemy encounters to be halved, but the quality doubled.
Games rely WAY too much on fighting boring mooks nowadays, big masses of low level enemies that turn you into a total muss murderer. That's just as boring and grindy as collecting a thousand elfroot.
Most games nowadays with combat really need more enemy variety, more quality and less frequency. A game with a good story and gameplay does not need a combat every 5 minutes - if you think it does its because it lacks hard in other areas so you have to use combat as filler.

I actually thought Inquisition did fairly well at this though, most of your encounters were squad level...fairly evenly spaced out...not too tanky.

In my memory Inquisition was especially bad with the million fade rifts we had to close with a gazillion of demons pouring out. I don't know for sure but it felt like it was a much higher number than the amount of darkspawn we had to kill in DAO. And it was mind-numbingly repetitive. Overall, Inquisition was one of the most repetitive games I have ever played, not just in combat. It had its strengths, repetitiveness was it biggest weakness.

I don't know if it's been said...but what if they added a steed quest where you have to catch and tame a different type of steed in each region? You can start off with catching a horse, then a hart, an exotic, giant nug, wyvern, dragon and finally a griffin? Use the same kind of steed catching concept they used in LoZ: Breath of the Wild. Each animal would have its own set of stats and you have to find the one with the highest stats in each region and make finding special gear for the animals another quest.

When at a vendor to buy armor, and when highlighting the outfit or a piece of armor, I like for it to show what it would look like on my character before purchasing.

Dear daddy EA, My wish is that the DA:I designers moved on to work at MMO studios, and that Bioware poaches CDPR staff! Whilst the visual/audio asset teams are stellar, the design departments needs a proper restructuring! Witcher 3 exists, and soon Cyberpunk 2077 will too in retail, the bar for RPG has seriously been raised, so you have to either pull all the stops, or dump most of the funding into marketing, hehe!

I was playing DA2 again recently, and i forgot how much i enjoyed Hawke's little comments on things their companions leave about/romance comments/Varric and Isabela 'vandalising' their journal. It's such a small thing but it added a nice little addition and some minor charactarisation of companions and their relationship to Hawke. Not a major thing but i'd like to see something like that again because things felt so spread out and separated in Skyhold.
