Well - If DA4 is NOT a FPS RPG, but an(other) Multiplayer, Games As Service, Microtransaction and Lootbox ridden piece of garbage, I am NOT going to buy it. They should have learned the lesson by now. I refused (and still refuse) to throw any money to Anthem. It's simply not the style of game I want to play. If they try to morph DA4 into the same game type, I'm done with Bioware and anything they make.
And the comment from Schreier (still don't like the man); "- (Asked whether Anthem had problems with Frostbite and if EA can still force devs to use it even with all the problems) Yes and yes." is something I said from the moment DAI was released over and over again. This engine is simply not fit for an TP/FP RPG. A small example: When you switched to tactical screen, you could not move the cursor to any place you wanted if there was even a minature rock in the way. It made the tactical screen almost completely useless, because you often could not reach the places that where important. And that's only one of the many problems that where caused by the garbage engine.
Anyway - Anthem is in a "not so nice" place now. I predicted there would be trouble when Bioware would made Multiplayer GAS stuff in stead of the game type they where good in. And it seems I was not totally wrong here. Mind you, I do not wanted Anthem to fail or something. I simply do not care about this game. But I do not like where Bioware is going - At all....

Jason Schreier makes an appearance: - (in response to a question asking whether Anthem was meant to be Bioware's long term revenue cow so they can continue DA and ME) Nah. DA4 was rebooted to be a live service game too
I really hope this isn't true. If we're only going to get a part of a game again. A barely functioning part at that. I really want no part of it. If they do it for DA4, they'll do it for ME if they ever bring it back.

That reminds me, didn't anyone else think it was hella weird when at the game awards, the interviewer asked Casey a question about Anthem, and Casey started hyping up Dragon Age instead? I wonder if they started shifting their eggs to that basket even before launch. Seems plausible. Whatever else they might be, they're not dumb. They knew exactly what the state of the game was when it launched. Maybe they felt that devoting serious resources to it would not provide a good return on investment. Who knows, though. They knew all along the state of the game. I personally think that they expected it to do well anyways, typical of these companies. This artificial expectation of no matter how shallow your game is, it will still do well because you have a "big name" backing you up. And it sure works for some people, we all know some don't even care, so long as it's Bioware they'll be okay with whatever they pull, but sadly for Bioware that number gets diminished by the day.

If EA wants to salvage Anthem they may need to do what SE did with Final Fantasy XIV. Pretty much remake the game taking into account all of the feedback they received. FF XIV a Realm Reborn is alive and strong today. It's hard to believe the people who put out the remade version even made the first version. It's that much of a difference. Anthem may need to go through a similar metamorphosis.

How exactly is his suggestion any different from directly forcing Bioware to make a game. Granted though. As far as the word is going, Bioware was close to collapsing, not earning enough money etc etc before EA swooped in and bought them. Buying Bioware was an investment and if Bioware were not on good feet before being bought, I believe it is only reasonable that you as the one who bought them stepped in and tried smacking the studio around abit so that you could profit from the investment rather than lose. Oh god... why am I saying this I believe Bioware's new developers should just pull up their pants, get better at developing games and EA should be better at marketing even for Bioware. That way I am sure there won't be a need for microtransactions, weird launch deals, and forcing bioware to make their version of "Ultimate FIFA lootbox-sports."

He's trying to explain the difference between a direct mandate from a parent company and the parent setting bottom lines that warp how the subsidiary does its business, within the confines of a twitter post (and doing a good job).

More likely it's going to be a No Man's Sky route of patch and update changes over a period of time. Which is what they have been doing for weeks now with the incremental fixes before the bigger patch fixes. BioWare did similar with Inquisition and Andromeda, I'd suspect the same here.

Yes, all games do this. Not sure why it's attributed to 'GaaS' by some. Stellaris, for instance, has changed vastly since it's release. Even if you skip all the DLC.

Twitch viewers, right now. Anthem is not just extremely low on viewers for a major triple-A game that is three weeks old, but also Anthem is pretty much tied with Mass Effect 3, which is 7 years ago. Was it a bad idea to kill the Mass Effect franchise for Anthem? I bet it was. ![](https://i.ibb.co/phB0wKv/mass-effect-vs-anthem.jpg)

Not saying there's no people playing, but certainly there's not enough interest to stream nor to watch streamers play the game. APEX Legends releasing pretty much right next to Anthem sure as heck didn't help either. And that's 2 games from the same publisher.

Also Anthem is barely, just barely above Age of Empires II, a game that is from 1999 (20 years old!). Anthem's main competitors, namely Destiny 2, Division 2 and Warframe, all have several times the viewer count which Anthem has. So yeah, there is a serious lack of interesting in this game.

This game is at least as bad as DAIMP for issues.
Went through the demo/beta issues, most seemed repaired when i first bought the game 8 or 9 days ago.
Game played well for a bout a week.
The last two days have been utterly atrocious. lock ups, disconnects, the old 95% loading no sound, can't connect to server.
Just a non fun brutal experience last two days.
Xbox one version.

"Still don't like the man." He is the only real journalist in gaming. Reporting info that's not from press releases and writing down facts instead of his views and opinion. Why do Americans hate journalists so much. They are not the ones trying to screw you, everyone else is.

"Still don't like the man." He is the only real journalist in gaming. Reporting info that's not from press releases and writing down facts instead of his views and opinion. Why do Americans hate journalists so much. They are not the ones trying to screw you, everyone else is. There's been lots of fake news, biased and paid-off reviews in the last decade (coughDianaAllerscoughGG2014cough) ... and shady practices getting justified by dem journalists doesn't help either tbh (not ready games being released fine, DLCs good, activism, etc.).

That's because they are not real journalists. They were critics, bloggers, columnists, reviewers, whatever. Commenting on stuff. Schreier is the first one doing actual journalism, revealing things. That should be encouraged.

Ummm... I don't like his personality. I have said nothing about his capacities as game journalist...
And for your information: I'm definitely not an American, so -if possible- please do not place me in the "American journalist-hater" category (if such thing even exists)? Thank you very much...
