For me, it's places like DontKnod, HareBrain Studios, Firaxis. All of those places where they've achieved the big A, but not so big that they've received the triple A.
And the dark horse of them all, Volition. I'm still waiting on SR5.

I'm seeing far too few skepticism in this thread of late. Browsing this thread doesn't even make me depressed anymore! Shame. Shame. Shame. Considering seeing what Bioware has turned into doesn't depress you, I guess nothing can depress you ;-)

I've had more than 2 years to mourn Bioware. I'm indifferent to DA4 or any other future game unless I see a spark of life return to this walking corpse. I don't expect that to happen so I observe out of morbid curiosity.
At this point I frequent BSN for the usual entertainment value. Cheers!

A game so bad it literally destroyed BioWare’s internet service. Ripe for a new meme!

It's unbelievable. The way Bioware is failing on Anthem is beyond our skepticism.

This and Fallout 76 are some of the best entertainment I've had in years... I feel like I owe them some money at this point ( and I didn't spend a dime on it) Oh shit, someone tripped over our Internet cable! Cancel the Stream!!

It was just kind'a a "meh" game. Wasn't that good, wasn't that bad. More bad than good. Good character design, but there was nothing for them to really do or interact with. Hopefully Jim Boone (I think that's his name) that Deep Silver/Volition lured back from Runic Riot (again, I think? The ones who do LoL) will have some better ideas. With a phat ass paycheck I'm sure, but can't be certain.

Good character design, but there was nothing for them to really do or interact with. AoM really did have a great cast of characters, and a fun, if silly, story. If it had played to that strength, it would've been great. Instead, the grind got really awful (the time needed for the last few characters gets, like, geometrically worse), so I never quite finished getting the last couple characters maxed out, but I keep saying I'm gonna someday.

I thought the point of a livestream was to, you know, be "live." They've been virtually radio silent on reddit and twitter since the Kotaku story. The game is a fucking dumpster fire. The community is too small to even be described as in revolt, twitch viewership is down under 500 average. It is more important to get the information about upcoming changes out in any format than it is for it to be in a live stream. Record footage, post it on youtube and link from reddit (which is apparently their official forum, lol), say you're doing a couple hours of Q&A and sit there to answer questions. Crisis averted, and you don't look like a bunch of fucking buffoons. Also this is tinfoil hat territory but a bunch of people made some phone calls and none of the other businesses or ISPs in the area reported outages. Possible that BioWare is pulling a "dog ate my homework".

Possible that BioWare is pulling a "dog ate my homework". Could be true, although depends how the "grid" is laid out. Had a power outage at my house a couple of months ago, we were the only house on my street of approx 150 houses that had no power. Turns out, my house (sweet Jesus why I don't know) is connected at a different point to the street behind us.

reddit (which is apparently their official forum, lol) Well, didn't they shut down, just a few months prior to Andromeda, the BSN as it were and claimed that it would be more effective to communicate with the fanbase through reddit and twitter? At least that's how I remember the press release being.

I got to the second to the last boss (I think?) and spent some time banging my head against the wall. Eventually put the game on Easy mode just to beat it. I think maybe two or three characters were maxed at that point. After that, I uninstalled. Never looked back, and have never wanted to look back. SR3 and 4 though, I play those games all the freakin' time.

Well - To make connections reliable most times the neighborhood is constructed in a "ring" configuration. If one cable is damaged, then connections go the other way around, so there is no contact loss. Well - At least that's how fiber stuff is constructed in my country. Also - (again in my country) Bigger company's do not rely on one central point of connection, but have several access points just to keep things running in case of (a certain degree of) emergency.
The only comparable thing I can remember is the roll-out of Divinity Original Sin II, but when that happened the whole town the company resided in was completely blacked out. Even then they managed to get things going a few hours later by using the sister company in Canada (If I remeber well).
So....... Whatever....

Countries like America, Canada, Russia, Australia and Brazil are huge (nothing like Singapore or Netherlands!). Upgrading infrastructures, roads and communication/internet devices are very costly and time consuming... in some places not justified at all. Something that people do not consider.

Distance isn't insurmountable. Last I checked, North Dakota ranked sixth among US states for fiber optic penetration.
For some reason, the Midwest was awful in those standings.

How is Anthem's roadmap looking? I think this was supposed to be an exciting month for Anthem? Out of curiousity is Bioware looking like they're going to fall behind on the new content?

They've announced server downtime for maintenance for a few hours Tue and so far, that has been the precursor to a patch/new content drop.
And if history also serves, we'll get the patch notes during the server down time … maybe sooner.
This also fits what they said about the release of content not being delayed because of the live stream SNAFU.
We might see the new stronghold, bug fixes, other QOL improvements, upgraded support gear and new weapons.
The live stream will end up showing folks what they are already playing …
And we might even see some questions on the new stronghold and weapons, from folks who've actually played it.
I don't think it means Tue will be the kick off of the Cataclysm.
We'll see Tue how well I'm able to prognosticate.

Can anyone confirm that all Anthem support, content development, bug fixes are done by Bio Austin? I'm of the opinion that Bio Edmonton has moved on to DA4.
