Mass Effect Andromeda Beta Testing going on now?

The fact there's people hitting on Asari right now and I can do nothing ... I don't wanna think about it further!

If I were BioWare I'd kept my closed beta as far away from Origin as possible. I doubt that devs even have it installed on their workstations, lol.
I suspect that there are already plenty of things to test at this point, but it must be happening in a well protected and private enviroment.

Either OP or OPs friend is trolling. My money is on OP, actually, as we've never seen any screenshots (could've blured the account names for the privacy).

In defense of OP, I don't think OP is trolling ... at all. I've been accused of ill intent in the past, when there was none, so I sympathize. However, I agree with CHRrOME, I'm very skeptical. But I have no irrefutable evidence that the person in question is either playing the closed beta or just goofing on us.

Like OP, I have someone on my FL that shows up supposedly playing the closed beta. I don't know the person, they sent me an invite a while back, but we've never played together. Their OID does end in "t" ... so for OP, we might be talking about the same person. Or not. I'll let Biotic Tower do the invoking. 

Regardless, the person on my FL does not appear to have the Beta game icon in their list of games. I've looked at both games we share in common and the other games that the person possesses, which I don't own. This is not definitive, one way or another. But it does make me skeptical, based on my own very limited experience participating in a closed beta test of an EA game and how it played out in Origin.

The two options as I see it ...

First, the person is playing the closed beta. It shows up as what the person is playing, but somehow, the game icon does not show up in the player's profile in Origin. If the person had made their profile private, I would not be able to see this. But the profile is open.  If EA/BioWare spent the effort to not have the beta game icon show up on the game list, you'd think they would spend the time to not have the game show up as being played ... but hey, folks don't call it "lolorigin" for nothing. 

Second, we have a troll. A master troll would have a closed profile. So if we are looking at troll, they have been careless. Where the troll shows skill, is in not jumping on BSNuf and claiming all sorts of knowledge or even dropping sly hints. No, the brilliance is to send out some friend requests to folks you know are on BSNuf, then set up a non-EA game title to reflect ME:A closed beta, then just open that game and let folks on your FL see you playing the beta. Let those folks report the sighting, let them take the heat and blowback ... while you lurk in the forums, laughing at the shenanigans.

Taking a look at the FL of my "beta tester" ... just through "D" ... the list of friends includes 10 BSNuf members that I immediately recognize, to include some mods. So for all our carrying on, mods on this forum are seeing the same thing.  I don't have the desire to scan the entire list ... including folks we have in common, it's over 230 folks.

Again, OP isn't trolling, I very much believe OP is sincere. I am skeptical of what I see in Origin ... but I have no definitive proof, one way or another, whether the person playing the beta is legit or just goofing on us. Evidence supports both views.

Closed betas, at least multiplayer ones i've done, have happened several months before actual release of the product. Of course, it was in a bit of a controlled environment, though not by the developer, and there wasn't a social app like Origin associated. Honestly, since BioWare's not against showing little tid-bits (for example the Ai shirts), i don't think having the game visible in lists is a problem for them.


Actually, BioWare's been feeding us little bits of information this whole time, like the "N7 Training Program" and the upcoming comic books, with release dates.

It's quite plausible they would be testing the multiplayer aspect through origin. To me this doesn't really mean much either way, I mean we know they will be testing it now, whether it is showing up in origin or not doesn't really matter.

I saw crashsuit doing this on my FL, but I just went "lol crashsuit is using space magic again".

Well, at this point it would just prove that I saw what I said I did, but not whether the person is actually playing the beta, as others have reported that someone can change the name of the game they're playing in Origin.

Perhaps they are pulling my leg and I fell for it. I still want to believe!
