I loved that trilogy, MEA was ruined by sjw lgbt propaganda. The game had issues. You "sjw" ideas are just bullshit. You think that FemShep/Liara didn't come across the same way to people? Wait, no, because they were sexy women so it was okay. Which is why FemShep/Kelly was also fine with people. BroShep/Kaidan did get some complaints because it stopped giving you titillation and appealed to some other people - even though it took nothing away from you. You're just another "snowflake" who got butthurt due to being exposed to stuff that could happen in real life - even though it took nothing away from your own romance options.

Wrong board OP. Everyone around here thinks Andromeda is great for some reason.
Primarily the franchise was ruined by a bad writer. One in particular who should not have taken the helm. Secondarily it was ruined by SJWs but not due to politics or due to the inclusion of non-hetero characters, but due to friendliness. Yes, that's right, BioWare cucked themselves in the writer's- designer's- and their every room allowing their newfound "inclusive culture" to govern how they actually treat each other and their work at work. They got too lenient and friendly and started doing shittier work because everyone's too "friendly" to hit the shit with the fan when it is necessary. Game dev isn't supposed to be "nice", not for the sake of being a dick but for the sake of being honest and candid in a brutal way if need be if it means a couple of smart leaders guide their fellow devs through a plan and then those fellow devs can hold them up to scrutiny. They still do this but from recent interviews with Alexis Kennedy and Mike Laidlaw to the actual output in their last 5 years -- and its sheer regression in quality, I'm pretty sure they used to be more dickish and straightforward about getting to the point of a critique rather than avoiding it in the past -- actually doubling down "Hey, this works but it's not impressive, fix it!".
Ever since DA2 and ME3 BioWare has seemed like a developer that too often goes "Is it good enough? Yeah it'll have to do." and that mentality was no more apparent than with Andromeda where it actually turned into a product even the sometimes complacent journalists reacted negatively towards.

Yah, I think that they are just listening to their fans too much. "Do you like it? Okay, we'll change it." "Do you like it? Okay, we'll change it back." *shrug* And as for SJW propaganda, that doesn't automatically mean that I'm not an SJW proponent. It means that I'm against using made up words like zhe and zher. If you paint me into an alt-right corner by not using these words, don't be surprised when I come out swinging and fuck whoever gets in my way. It's the same as jingoist vs. patriotic. At one time in America you had to blindly follow the flag, or you were thought of unpatriotic by not being jingoist. "'Cause Murica!" wasn't just some clever words we threw together. Well, no, it doesn't work that way. There is a middle ground there, and I'm sorry to say, the alt-right has more of a grasp on these things than do SJW propagandists.

I hate, as a gay guy, being lumped in as the reason for "SJW propaganda". For the record, the trans people I know want to identify as the sex opposite of what they were born, not the genderfuck stuff that seems to have overtaken it all. Even Hainley Abrams wasn't such a problem being trans so much as her desire to run around telling everyone. If you're going with that storyline, it needs to come out more organically. As an infodump, it failed. However, that's a writing issue, not a propaganda problem.

It was great when I could use the power wheel. Apparently talk that that is heresy now... I think the idea was to maintain the flow of combat instead of interrupting it by constantly pausing to assign your teammates powers or positioning. Personally, I don't mind the power wheel and wish they would return to more squad control in MEA2. I think if you get something like with what you had in DAI as far being able to control aspects of your teammates guns, armor, movements, power etc and leave the rest to the AI while combining that with the way the game allows you traverse the battlefield with jet pack, you have some seriously fun combat.

I’m indifferent about the power wheel but I won’t be against its return. Better to have it and not use it than not have it and want it. I personally liked the flow of combat so if can use the left and right d-pad to assign a power instead of a spot (which I never did), that would work better but I have no desire to stop/start combat.

I think the idea was to maintain the flow of combat instead of interrupting it by constantly pausing to assign your teammates powers or positioning. I suspect that it was meant as a way to use SP as a tutorial for MP (which has the lootboxes of course...), make people more likely to move over since gameplay is similar. I'm sure they wanted to make the SP and MP consistent in terms of experience as opposed to ME3 which differed between SP and MP. From a design standpoint, it makes sense, especially if you are pressed in your development schedule and, yes, also if you want to have people already familiar with the MP controls prior to engaging it so the transition from SP to MP is seamless. I didn't play much MP in either ME3 or MEA so it didn't matter much to me but I definitely did miss the squad interaction in MEA.

I didn't play much MP in either ME3 or MEA so it didn't matter much to me but I definitely did miss the squad interaction in MEA. Yeah, I certainly see the logic, though as someone who hated that design decision (the cap on active abilities), and had very little interest in MP, it soured ME:A even more for me. The lack of the powerwheel and only three assignable powers certainly wasn't at the top of list of favorite features either. If you are going to make it so Biotics, Tech, and Combat powers can be accessed regardless of starting build, set aside a powerwheel with 6 to 7 assignable slots and let people go nuts. Imagine having Pull, Throw, Invasion, Flamethrower, Concussive Shot and POC accessible during a fight and your only limitations are cool downs. Now add on being able to control companion weapons (that you also build with resources), armor (that you could also build with resources), and powers with itself 6 assigned specific to that character. I'd be pretty happy with that...

I remembered ME being great in MEA last night when I rescued the Moshae...great mission, great combat, great level design, cool dialogue...had a blast Both the trilogy and MEA are great in their own ways. yeah it's one of my faves too along with the Archon's ship.

I loved that trilogy, MEA was ruined by sjw lgbt propaganda. Have you ever noticed that whenever people say stuff like this with the word "propaganda" or "agenda", they're notably non-specific about what those things actually entail? Yep. Though I believe "SJW" now means "anything I don't like".

Got to admit one thing, ME1 is still the only ME game I play every year. It feels (not being actually) a more niche game. I love that 80s sci-fi vibe it has and that old school look.
At this point I would just welcome a remaster with updated graphics to play a sharper version of the original.
I wish they would reboot this franchise to be a harder sci-fi with old school nods at the classics of the genre.
Overall if I should make a critic to BW is that they always want to play it safe and they do not want to be controversial, offering different take on the stories, ultimately I feel they know what they fans want and just provide them that. They really need to reinvent their approach, when we buy a BW game we know what we are going to receive, this is bad. I want to be shocked and excited again as it was when I first played ME1 or DAO.

I'd love updated graphics myself, though I preferred the leveling systems used by both it and MEA. Similarly, I liked how ME1 and MEA allowed the player to upgrade/mod weapons and armor. Didn't care for the dumbed down versions we got in ME2/3.

I wonder if whoever came up with the rule that whomever brings up Hitler in an argument first loses, if he/she hadn't come up with that rule, would we still be in this mess today?
I'm guessing not.
Because forcing me to say words like Zhe and Zher is no more appropriate than Jews wearing tattoos on their arm and big Stars of David.
