Fun class. Too bad he can't dodge but a decent weapon character. Still learning the ropes (knives, sharp sticks, Thresher Mass) on silver. I hope to get good enough to take him to gold (and eventually platinum).

No one is going to mention him saying that the Destroyer is just a "decent" weapon character? I'm fairly sure he has one of the highest DPS in the game. Something like top three at least right? He destroys (sorry no pun intended) gold and he is one of the stronger Platinum characters. But then again, it depends entirely on what weapons you have.
My favorite build for him is Typhoon/Venom with fire or drill rounds. It can handle pretty much anything.

It's hard to go wrong with the Destroyer. You can spec him so many ways.
Scrub mode is Devastator+PPR. Pro mode is Venom+Omniblade.

If you want to try the Devastator Mode + Spitfire combo, I would advise against doing it without without an Adrenaline Mod. That was slow... and painful... and slow... In retrospect it probably wasn't my brightest idea. Trying to put a bit of distance between me and a Brute only to get sync'ed by said Brute ultimately convinced me  |

Believe me, he's very... devastating. Just skip devastator mode entirely, spec into hawk/grenades + max power and carpet bomb the sh*t out of map. Almost always guaranteed 200k+ per gold match, if you're into such things. Plus he can now sidestep, like a limp boss. |

A bit unrelated, I don't know why, but to me the Destroyer has like the manliest dodge, it just amuses me and makes me feel like he's saying this every time "arghhh I gotta dodge, gonna feel that one in the morning" or "I wish I was a human soldier with light armor instead".
