Guys, Ask a Game Dev post which also basically confirms that BioWare had money problems: linkI swear this guy must have worked at BioWare at some point, cus he always seems to have a lot of background info on them and their projects.

My assumption was always something along the lines of the following scenario:
Grey-suited EA executive: "Why are you wasting so much time making a customisable tactics screen?"
Bioware developer: "We want to give as much depth and customisation options to our players as......
Grey-suited EA executive:: Enough! You know very well that the kind of player demographics we wish to entice into our titles have little time for complicated interfaces of deep gameplay elements. Consider the classic Call of Duty console audience! Fast, arcade-style combat, limited customisation, minimal decision making is what we require...."
Bioware developer: But......
Grey-suited EA executive:: You're not hearing me. Our players wish to race to the end of the game with as few distractions as possible, and without overcomplications such as tactics screens, which may be offputting to the Call of Duty demographic. Pack them in, get them playing, and then milk them for as much cash as possible with microtransactions - that's our core philosophy"
Bioware developer: But.... we've never been like that, we make RPGs, you can't just dictate what......
Grey-suited EA executive:: Be silent! You have your orders. Either follow them to the letter or we'll find someone else who will. If you don't like it, you know where the door is. Have I made myself quite clear?"
Was I wrong then?

Yeah, I either leave him to his fate in Oralia or have him spend his life in servitude (which unfortunately results in him becoming a Grey Warden anyway pretty much negating that choice). I prefer to sentence him to being an actual grey warden. I have yet to leave him to die, although becoming a Grey Warden leads to his death anyhow. At least he took some Darkspawn with him while he was at it . Too bad there wasn't an option to have him parade around skyhold wearing a jester outfit for all to laugh at. I either leave him in jail or don't recruit him.
