Edit: This discussion is about scope mods, not when you use mouse or controller to do what the game .ini calls "tight aim". I tight aim all day every day, and wouldn't hit the broadside of a barn without it.
I never use any scope mods in 3MP. After learning how to shoot playing 3MP, I no longer use scopes in SP either... Time dilation sucks.
I used to use them.... But the game has taught me that aim without them is usually good enough to make heads splat, so I generally prefer any mod to them.
Is there a convincing/compelling reason to use a scope mod on any weapon in this game?

As scopes improve accuracy I tend to use them from time to time to make weapons like the Avenger viable on Gold. Outside of that though, lolnope, nobody got space fo dat.

You can slap a scope on the Executioner to get a pocket sniper. It's innate piercing makes it ok for that purpose. That aside the only gun I used a scope regularly is the Kishock because I didn't like it's scope and it helps a bit with smokin' lolberus.

The one time I used it was on the M11 when I did the Armax Arena mirror mode with all penalties. It let me kill the clones with 2-3 headshots from the other side of the map. If I was good, I probably could have done it without the scope but it definitely helped.

I never use them. Then again I pretty much only use shotguns and sniper rifles that already have scopes. Scopes on pistols can be fun in other games like Borderlands and Fallout for example. Games with an open-world(ish) setting and much more distance to cover. But in ME they are unnecessary in my opinion although I could see some use for them on some weapons that I personally don't use.

the Assault Rifle scope could be good for accuracy boost, i never think about it ... then, do u need to scope to get the accuracy boost ?
anyway, scope are just for fun, or when u got a free slot, which is almost never.
edit: I used them on sp, cause i love to HS, and it s so easy with time dilatation ... i cant resist

Voted Yes, though I never used them before trying out the Argus. Which I hated at first, so I decided to pretend it's a neat fast Sniper Rifle I combined the Argus with the Cabal, a kit I first hated (because I'm a scrub and don't know how to properly play her ), and these two together are But that reminds me that I wanted to try out the Argus without scope mod again at some point.

The "recent" weapons i have used the scope on:
BPP (on TSol): with stabilization sorted out, scope makes it excellent at headshotting mooks at long range. Revenant: same as above, though Revenant sucks Talon (on GI or GE): for landing HSs at medium/long range

I don't host, so Turian stability is usually broken for me, but I could go Barrage Gear and Stability 3 and make this worth testing. With BPP, headshots are generally a crapshoot. Perhaps this will be different. In general, I always use it like a minigun, and just aim for center mass and hopefully climb to the head by the 7th round.

SMG's like the Tempest or AR like Revenant benefit form it if stability is solved another way. Also Thermal Scope for Snipers is pretty nice if weight is not an issue. Knowing penetration distance+extra stability, even replacing the shitty CSR/Indra scopes is welcome. Hell i even used one on my Mattock for headshots the early days when i was short of options :-)

Don't use scope, hate snipping due to controller scrubbery. This. I'm already not paying attention to my surroundings half of the time, getting myself killed by those goddamn creeper marauders in corners. With a scope I completely lose track of what's happening around me and then I STILL can't land headshots anyway because my aim won't magically stop sucking. Sooo, no thanks!

I think it depends, it always does. I mean, the behavior of certain weapons change dramatically by the way you mod it. Case in point, the Saber. Popping heads or landing nothing but headshots from afar is no small task, and a scope on the Saber can often be the best last-second choice before hitting the spacebar with self-confidence back on the lobby.
All scopes can be amazing on the right weapon, on the right hands.

Scopes do great things for bullethoses like Spitfire and Typhoon and/or turn already powerful ARs like Harrier and Valkyrie into headshot machines.
What also helps is having high-res monitor (2.5 K and over), lil triangle out of post-it paper glued to its crosshair middle, hunched back and bloodshot eyes being irradiated in its very close vicinity.

The loss of situational awareness by using the actual scope (I tight aim all day)... Is just not worth the time for me. The scope is a fishbowl.
My first love was Saber. I used to scope it. I wouldn't scope that thing anymore for all the tea in China.
There is minimal difference for me between scope and no scope re:headshots. I have no issues getting 20HS by wave 5 off-host in most matches without a scope. The maps are small. Scopes are dumb.

I take my (console) scrubbery quite seriously, so rarely manage 20 headshots with or without a scope. I frankly don't try very much with the vast majority of characters and guns. That said, if I do want to be serious about it I take every crutch in the game - an AA, Stasis, Suppressor, Headshot mod plus amp, and naturally a scope. To say it all works very nicely would be something of an understatement.
Scoped Locust is an amazing troll combo on a Human Engineer.
Krysae or Kishock - less point in using a Geth Scanner with either of them so why not?
That's about it. Maybe the CAR from time to time.

Krysae or Kishock - less point in using a Geth Scanner with either of them so why not? ...scoped Krysae = 100% foolproof headshot generator! Also, does having other than default Kishock low-power scope help alleviate that weird cant-get-out-of-cover bug? Serious question.
