Sonic experience is a part of what makes ME3(MP) so damn addictive for me... Played a lot of games, this one is second to none considering gun sound design. Which one is your favorite?
Mine would be Saber for its wonderful metallic/mechanic ka-ching... Runner-ups: angry spit of Crusader and resonating lo-fi spring action of Executioner (I swear they used mouse trap to record the audio...)

Raider. That double high-pitched THUMP THUMP! And, of course, the BLAM of the Kishock. Yeah, the batarians know how to make great-sounding guns.

I like the Raider! Even better with triple shot Also I find Adas hilarious, but it's just that, funny, and probably annoying if using all the time. Apry, I need to get used to your new avatar!

I fully endorse this product or service, nothing comes close. For me the AR-ness of the Harrier and vwip of the Javelin would be a distant second and third. They did a great job with most of the weapon's sounds...and then there's the Wraith; a fantastic weapon, probably best overall in the game, that sounds like I'm throwing a rock filled tin can at at toilet :smh:

This is a real question? Like a real, serious question?! I assume this is the thread that Wraith-lovers will studiously avoid. Remember the sound of inevitability from The Matrix? Not to be confused with the sound of inevitability from Team America. In Mass Effect that's the BOOM of the Claymore, and anyone who thinks otherwise is a damn pyjak. Kishock and Raider make the podium though.

There are some faithful ones, good, but why is not the Highest Lord on the very first post, BSN? Is this the path you have taken? I'm disappointed. Let me then, a humble servant, open an old bottle of Claymoar samples (indoor and outdoor) I had just in case they would pull the plug.
Honorable mention to: Mantis, Javelin, Saber, Tempest, Avenger, Revenant. Throw tomatoes to: Reetard, Harrier, Brrr-icane, Phaeston and Reetard.

Wraith has a great raw sound when you're not using it yourself. So if this "contest" wants to be objective, it has to consider "both sounds". That's just my opinion For me there can be only one winner Shotguns: - Claymore Assault Rifles: - Revenant - Harrier - Saber - Typhoon SMG Pistols: - BPP maybe, but it's still barely Heavy Pistols: - Arc Pistol - Executioner Sniper Rifles: - Javelin - Kishock (thx for the reminder Grunt!)

That's just my opinion I can honestly say I've never noticed that, but I accept it as a genuine observation so promise to listen more closely next time a teammate is using one. To me (when I'm using it myself) it sounds like a broken bicycle bell, but I like Forest's description better. Also, Mission_Scrubbed, I agree with all you say with the exception of the inclusion of the Phaeston in the list of bad-sounding guns. I concede it's not a great-sounding gun, but it loosely echoes the sounds I could make with my own mouth when spraying friends with imaginary bullets as a child, and it is also my preferred sound when taking on the game in a GLORIOUS FAT kind of way.

I can honestly say I've never noticed that, but I accept it as a genuine observation so promise to listen more closely next time a teammate is using one. I think I can help you with that Muah were using Wraith on his character. Also I noticed Wraith made that sound on White, but on Condor it makes almost the same sound as when you use it yourself. So maybe surroundings make a difference?

ARs:Saber, because, as mylkoo put it, the sound is very mechanic, and I love everything mechanic. Particle Rifle, because it's just cool. Spitfire, because oh that pshhhhpshhhh (too bad the gun itself fails to deliver most of the time). Lancer, because good ole ME1 sound. Revenant, because in ME2 that sound meant you owned the room. Harrier, because that's how I know everything's gonna be alright. SRs:Javelin, because its sound is the best sound. No runner-ups. Shotguns:Claymore, because there's your perfect BANG you want. Raider, because it's not just BANG, it's BANG BANG. Venom, because BOOM BOOM bitches. Reegar, because personal reasons. Don't hate me for it, although you inevitably will. SMGs:Blood Pack Punisher, because it sounds great, although performs not that great. Pistols:Arc Pistol, because if you hear it, you know there's a person with some skill on your team. Scorpion, because it's a sound of Phantoms blowing into many small red pieces

Claymore, by far the best designed gun in any game ever. The animation combined with the sound effect and visual impact of a close range hit, magic.

That much is not in dispute. Otherwise I'm pleased to say you didn't let me down. Agent Mulder doesn't appear to be active here just now so I hope you can bear all that weight on your shoulders dude. Y'know, on your own. It is funny though. I could never pretend to have your skills, but I regard the Wraith as requiring considerably less skill than the Claymore. Like, almost literally half as much. Two shots and lighter in weight. Skill? Pff yourself! But then I flatly refuse to attempt a Plat solo again, so we're talking about two completely different concepts I think. But this isn't about efficacy, no matter how much you're forced to try to belittle the thread topic, it's about sound. And there truly is no contest between the two guns on that front. BOOM! And nitrous - that was a very insightful remark about the Arc Pistol. It's like the anti-Reegar among pugs. No offence.

i must say the sound of wraith looks better on the @sona white vid. though I could swear it sounds even more piercing when a friend use it... Anyway, i was planning to change my audio files for the wraith, but couldnt find it for whatever reason, cant remember. I had a cool sound linked by FTFTL on soundcloud, but cant remember either btw, during mp breaks, i had some arc pistol sound withdrawal problems, even if it s rather shitty in my book, i m addicted to it.

None taken As I said, I like that Reegar sound for personal reasons - and there are many weird things people like for personal reasons. BTW, another hint for me that a PUG is at least not bad are Widow and Carnifex sounds. But that pretty much never happens.
