CONGRATULATIONS, SENOR!!!! I am SO happy for you I'm super glad you managed to do it, though I knew you would eventually! It's so great you did this with the Fury, because she's cool. And she was my first Gold solo, so it's even cooler. Bro(sis?)-fist Also a belated CONGRATULATIONS to GruntKitterhand as well, you guys rock! I would never have it in me to even try a Plat solo, so kudos to you, and thanks so much both of you for posting this in my thread, I am happy about this

Being inspired by GruntKitterhand 's success (Congrats! ), I decided it was time for another attempt on that Plat solo on friday. I chose White and Cerberus and picked my Fury with her Venom IX. Never thought I'd try that for a Plat solo, until DistigousForest mentioned it in another thread. Once I tried Reapers, but they annoyed me to hell by wave 1 or 2 (too many Ravagers, Brutes and enemies in general) so I quit and went back to Cerberus. I had several attempts with this combination before, quite some ending in wave 1 after being sync killed, or already loosing all my gels Then there were a couple of mid-game failures that just happened thanks to my scrubbiness. I had two attempts when I got all the way to wave 10, once failing thanks to targets and once failing post-objective thanks to a Banshee warp ball following me around corners and half the map. This was the very first attempt with the Fury/Venom And this was the post-objective fail The post-objective fail hurt a 'bit' as I still had a rocket and it looked like a pretty decent time, I guess. I just wanted to play it safely and then got hit by that warp ball. Anyways, on Friday I read GruntKitterhand's post and thought I'd give it another shot. Loaded my usual setup and while I listened to some music first, I already noticed something was off. When the song was over, it turned out that my game sound were completely off. Nonetheless, I continued playing trying to get as far as possible. Then wave 3 arrived and I got devices. I really wanted to continue first, but without sounds and then enemies appearing out of nothing, my motivation was rapidly gone and I quit again. I didn't feel like continuing first, but since there weren't many people on my FL around anyway, I did give it another shot. Good thing I did. Picking my gear, I noticed I only had 2 or 3 shotgun amps and cyclonics left and thought, well you better succeed at this before you're out of them. Following muahmuah ' and DistigousForest's suggestions, I took Warp ammo but I didn't take AC5, but Geth Scanner as I feel safer with the scanner. Objectives were Escort, Escort and Targets, so until wave 10 I was pretty lucky. The escorts weren't much of a big problem, as they didn't go through spawns. I had to run a circle on wave 3 and might've lost a gel I think, but apart from that, really lucky. I had 3 nukes on wave 10 and originally wanted to keep one for cleanup, but since I was out of gels and ops by the time the third target was marked, I nuked it and then had nothing left except 4 TCPs. An Atlas is slow to kill (at least for me) with all his shields but I got it done and the objective was done, what a relief, though still not relaxing, my heart was now thumping. I just didn't want to fail again on wave 10. I had to take a quick pause in a corner so I could breath calmly Maybe exaggerating a bit here. Anyways, I had to continue as there were still some enemies left, Banshees and Phantoms (I think) weren't a big problem, as the Venom Fury kills them easily. But there were two Atlases left and it took some time to kill them. But, at some point I got the message 'Only one enemy unit left' (or something like that). And then I managed to destroy this one as well As for the non-objective waves, I can' remember much, but I started to love wave 7 and dragoons. I was happy for every dragoon I saw as they were dead in a second and the next one won't take too long to come to you. That might sound stupid, but I can't change that Atlases on the other hand were really annoying and Primes, for once, didn't make me rage. Also I was pretty lucky at times, because I wasn't killed by a surprising turret or phantom when I pulled back a couple of times with less than a full bar of health. I don't mind though, as I also have been unlucky from time to time. Anyways, for extraction I took position in the corner of win, hoping I could soort of hold it with my 0 gels, ops and rockets. I mean, I still had 4 TCPs!! It worked fine for about half a minute, maybe a bit more. Then the Atlas arrived and since I can't take it down quick enough, I pulled back. I now took position on the very end of the map. Luckily no enemy was coming close to me, so I could stay there for another 45 seconds. With about 30 seconds to go, I went to the LZ, as enemies were slowly closing in. There were only two or three dragoons to take care of and then I finally saw the Mission Successful screen after 38:46 minutes. And now some people I'd like to say thank you to: DistigousForest , for giving me the idea of Venom Fury on White Cerberus, a couple of suggestions and wishing me luck muahmuah , for helpful advice, like not taking headshot bonus for the Venom GruntKitterhand , for motivating to give it a shot, even if not intended and also fraggle and Sonashii for being kind enough to believe in me Some sort of impressions: This Atlas was kind enough to not leave the box, though he still almost managed to kill me I think this was post-objective on wave 6, the Atlas closer to me blocked the other one and they both didn't move anymore Luckily, extraction was rather relaxing And the final screen I'm very happy, I managed to do this with the Fury and actually enjoyed the game a lot! While I'm certain that I won't do one plat solo after another (or rather one attempt after another), maybe I'll try to do some more with different classes in the future. For now though, I think I want to get my first flawless gold solo, and I feel like it should involve Turians. Congratulations! Venom is love, Venom is life. I'd have been crapping myself on extraction with no gels and the goon rush. The feeling of Full Extraction makes the unsuccessful attempts worth it. Well, wave 10+ fails still suck. You learned to love waves 7 Cerberus and that's good, it's probably the fastest wave and easy to handle with something like the Fury, other kits could be a nightmare though. Great time and don't forget to post in the PHoF, The 7 Tiers of Neufchatel is a good challenge on insanity if you like more OP kits/weapons and still gets some more Plat solos under your belt

Atlases must have been painfull with warp ammo indeed, but as they are slow and stupid, i guess u kept them for waves ends. And u were fast, so, not so annoying !

Well, it was quite some time ago, so my memories are not exactly clear, but I would assume that my first gold solo was Saber Jugg on Cerberus Glacier, as that was all I played then, if not, it was Eagle Jugg on White Reapers some months later (at worst, this was my second). Both would've been around 38mins, never managed to get it below 34mins though (Jugg/Reapers/White), and only been over 40mins with this setup on low-manifest alt accounts. Still haven't soloed Gold with KroGuard or Warlord, I maintain that Siege Pulsing Jugg vs Reapers is INFINITELY easier than either of those, regardless of what rediculous toy you give them.
I can come close to these times with a few specific characters, but those that would be faster (Fury, KroSol, for example) have had unfortunate run-ins, Fury with Marauder Death Squads on Wave 8 (Best was 18mins to this point), and I am still traumatized by the Banshee who grabbed my Claymoar KroSol at the end of an end-to-end escort (White) on wave 10 at 20something minutes. Lately though, all of my solos have been on my mod on PC, so they don't count (all of the above runs were on PS3, with all the goodness that brings).
I actually like soloing games these days, as I have no tolerance for PUGs anymore, and also maintain that the average PUG doesn't even function as a "decoy" like many claim, and that they actively make matches harder (block good spawn, scatter remaining spawns, die, map is a mess that needs rounding up before cleaning up).
I still have yet to attempt a Plat solo, maybe when I have a few more successful characters on Gold (I can solo Silver easily with any character, even at low levels, and with reasonable times, but I guess I'm just not patient enough for Gold, and definitely can't maintain focus for an hour to do a Plat solo).

You don't have to spend hour, just kill everything fast. On a more serious note, you should try with something OP on an "easy" map.

I'm actually REALLY bad with most of the "OP" things, and stay far away. Reegar/AIU? I do better with a Scimitar. Harrier TGI? Pfft, even Striker is better for me on him. I enjoy Mantis GE more than Hurricane GE, I wont deny the potential of a Hurricane GE, but I will do better with the Mantis GE. EDIT: Granted, the last isn't really an OP thing, more an example or description of how it is for me.

fraggle, Sis-fist back The fury indeed is awesome! And now go work on that plat solo!
DistigousForest, yep, Venom all the way! And I was super excited when extraction arrived as I knew, nothing is safe yet, but for once the game has been kind to me and it wasn't too much of a problem to eliminate the dragoons. In the beginning I saw the Atlases but apart from that only had to deal with dragoons, the rest was too slow, so it wasn't that bad afterall. As for the challenge series... Maybe if I ever manage to finish them all on gold in a good time (or at all ), I generally suck at solos, so being successfull with Plat probably was mostly lucky. But we'll see, maybe someday I'll have some time left to try them.
And Alfonsedode, yeah, they were annoying and as you said slow. But in this game I think they had a total brain/Central core malfunction. They jumped on boxes then wouldn't get off them, they got stuck because they couldn't turn around anymore and that quite often. I don't mind though, happy with anything that helps And it made it easy to keep them for the end.
