Here's a poll I've put out before, but it's been a while so here we go again!
Assuming I've done this correctly, anyone interested should be able to pick two options to vote for, because I know it can be nigh impossible to pick JUST one.
Even if you don't want to vote, I'd still like to see what y'all think about it. Any "ethos" to a particular class? Is there one thing about a class that you just can't get enough of? Are you opposed to a particular class?
It doesn't have to be those questions, just throwing some out there. In any regard, the poll should be open until the end of May, so plenty of time to participate.
MAJOR EDIT: I had to "remove" the poll so I could unlock it. I put it back up as is, same deal with having two votes per, but it removed the votes. On the plus side, there's no expiration date, so it'll be open to vote forever and ever.

I tested this out, and you don't need to use both votes, and until the poll is "closed" you can change your votes at any time, so no worries if you change you mind later.

Engineer and Soldier.
Followed closely by Infiltrator.
Then Vanguard, but it's pretty far behind Infiltrator.
Then there is Sentinel and Adept that don't really ever get playthroughs.

Infiltrator for the win!!! How can you not like this guy: (and if you don't, make sure there are no straight lines of sight on your position. )

This is tough, because how I feel about each class changes across all three games in the trilogy. But I decided to vote Vanguard and Infiltrator, since I like them fairly consistently across all three games in the trilogy.
For the record, my favorite class in the entire trilogy is the ME2 Engineer.

Vanguard followed by Soldier. I think Soldier is better in ME1 but Vanguard kicks ass in ME2 and ME3.

To date, no one finds Adept their favorite. I find that interesting. The adept is a pretty powerful class in all three games IMO but for me, it's too much power spamming. I like the gameplay best when I combine powers with shooting. That's kinda also why I like the infiltrator a lot because its powers work best in conjunction with weapons (tactical cloak, reposition, headshot snipe with damage bonus for instant kills ).

It just feels weird to me for Shepard to be a biotic (that dominates everyone biotically) when you're being explained biotics and how they work etc (Shepard should already know all this if they are one) a lot in ME1 and then sent to recruit 2 extremely strong biotics for the SM in ME2 when Shepard could fill that role themselves.

I've always been a Soldier in my playthroughs, it was the first class I rolled with in ME1. However, I have done the occasional run as a Sentinel.

You never know how newer people might alter the balance. Aww, thank you! Unfortunately, the only thing I can do now is close the poll (I won't, obviously), but I'm hoping that when the deadline is reached I'll be able to "re-open" and then set the date to "never" or maybe just pick something in the 31st century. Another option is that I could "close" this thread, then just remake it with the same poll only without the deadline. If enough people want me to go that route I'll do it.

I remember reading a stat about ME3 where Adept was the least popular class in the game while Soldier and Vanguard were the most popular. But my order:
Engineer Adept Sentinel Soldier Vanguard Infiltrator
I just love the focus of Adepts and Engineers. Engineers can handle anything and everything. Adepts are super fun in ME2 especially on Insanity. Singularity is a great power and its my favorite class in ME3 MP. I like the versatility of Sentinels, but I am not a fan of the long recharge speed of Tech Armor in ME2. In ME3 Sentinels are so strong its stupid. Soldiers are great because of their DPS and they can plow through everything in the game even on Insanity.
I am not a huge fan of Vanguards and Infiltrators. Vanguards are far too one note and repetitive. Plus the constant bugs I have experienced have made it the most frustrating class to play because it doesn't always work as intended. Infiltrators could have been one of my favorite, but I REALLY hate that slow down scoping on snipers. I know I can use shotguns and such, but the lack of weapons in ME2 makes it not fun to shotgun infiltrator. Also, Infiltrators are too easy and I don't feel the class really fits well for Shepard in general.

Wow, I thought Infiltrator would be the second most favorite. Vanguard was very versatile in ME1, a bit limited in ME2 when it came to flexible combat situations, and downright broken in ME3. But as much as it was a pain in the rear, it was a favorite.
I'd have to give my second vote to Sentinel for the adaptability. They were specced to handle any situation and that is hard to ignore.
Special mention to Engineer for being extremely overadvantaged with their secret resource bonuses on the Normandy, special interrupt in ME3, combat drone in ME2 and the hilarity of sending a combat drone, a sentry turret and a defense drone while yelling, "FLY MY PRETTIES! FLYYYY!"

To date, no one finds Adept their favorite. I find that interesting. We can only speculate as to why. sgtreed24 already mentioned that Adept fans have not voted yet. Some speculation of my own: 1. Why some players really liked the Adept (and biotics in general) in ME1, the gameplay changes in ME2 really soured some players on the Adept. Gameplay changes in ME3 alleviated some of the criticisms, but the damage was already done. 2. In ME1, the Adept was overshadowed by the Vanguard, and to some extent the Sentinel. Actually, the 'pure' classes tended to be replaceable by the hybrid classes. Then again in ME3, the Sentinel was basically the Adept minus Lift/Singularity, but when you could take Liara and/or Javik with you on just about every mission, you didn't need your own Lift or Singularity. The Adept was in a class of its own in ME2 where it was unique enough to stand out.

I don't enjoy close (in your face) combat or (nervously) stealthing around, so I avoid vanguard and infiltrator like the plague.

Soldier. I have yet to find a problem that bullets can't solve. Although in 1 I prefer engineer as it has a solution for every situation, whereas soldiers have to just hold the trigger for ten minutes.

You have to use your head for this class and it can't blow through insanity like Soldier, Sentinel, and Infiltrators can.

Overall, I find engineer the most satisfying. I didn't care too much about them in the first game, but they really shone in the second game. Don't know why, but it may have something to do with the fact they had something for every situation to handle it. Give them AR training and they are versatile in nay area, thanks to Mattock. Come ME3 and they combine their all around awesomeness with the possibility of wielding Claymore... I mean, seriously, what's not to love! Though I admit I'm slightly biased, since my canon Shepard was engineer and she was a mean bitch... in all the best ways Vanguards, I really liked in the second game. BC alone made them a highly tactical class. You had to choose your battles, watch who you'll charge so you won't get swarmed and killed. I loved the dichotomy of the class... basically, a berserker and the most reckless class in the game, but at the same time most tactical. The inclusion of Nova in third game took some of that away, but it made up for it by the sheer "holy shit" quotient, so we were cool with that. Those are my two favourite classes in single player. If we include multiplayer(we really should), adepts win by a big margin. Just so many variety in that class and I always enjoy playing most of them. Ok, I dislike Fury like... very much, but one bad apple does not make an entire tree bad. But for every Fury, there is a batdept with Claymore, AA with Raider and AJA with Acolyte. Smashdept with Wraith and drelldept, running around with Graal, chucking grenades left, right and center, laughing like a maniac and sending phantoms for cover I love my adepts

The first point I can see, but the second point makes little sense. Why "insert" Garrus, Zaeed, James or Ashley when a weapons-specialist Shepard can "fill their roles"? I really enjoy everything but Engineer. Its design in ME2/3 just doesn't appeal to me. I selected Adept and Sentinel, since I like Biotics; but I enjoy Soldier and Infiltrator nearly as much. ME3 Vanguard is so OP that it's silly, do it doesn't make the list; though I can understand the appeal to others. It's sometimes fun to play an unstoppable force. (Really, all Sheps are unstoppable, but its relative.) It's a shame MEA face-planted with so many. Its combat and character building is amazing. Removing the classes from the formula, opening things up for more organic development, was amazing and overdue.
