In one of my completionist playthroughs, I didn't even romance anyone. So technically, I may have beaten the bad guy, but I didn't have a girl at my side the entire time.

Even if I did have a LI at my side, it wasn't about getting the girl. It was about destroying the Reapers and preventing them from accomplishing what they came here to do. Along with having a whole recruited team or galaxy at my side to help me accomplish that goal.
