Good looks, quick wit and just the right amount of vulnerability. It is a powerful panty wetting recipe. Isabela has a negative opinion of men and generally prefers women. I'm not surprised that she doesn't attract male players. Then again, their reasons may be different from mine. I also didn't choose her because I had romanced Morrigan in DAO and didn't want to do the "Doesn't believe in love" shtick twice. |

But as far as actual in game content, Alistair's is done better with less chances for it to not reach the IN LOVE status. Poor Blackwall and Bull are the Zevrans of this game as far as F/M players are concerned. I find Blackwall to be a close second, but since Cullen's in game content involves an actual on screen wedding... and a million Adviser hugs, I just think he has Quantity with his Quality. Bull being Dom just squicks me out. I can't role play submissive even when it's my PC  Good looks, quick wit and just the right amount of vulnerability. It is a powerful panty wetting recipe. ...ew? Alistair is programmed to want any female Warden so long as she isn't constantly murdering folks HE cares about. I didn't even know there was romance in the game when I first played, even when there was flirting, I thought that was as far as it'd get. Then he gave me a rose and a speech. Later, even asking to have sex with F. Warden was a big speech. He's a passionate dork that cares too much about some small things even while HUGE things are happening. In a way, he marked me as he was my first video game romance. I wonder if that surprise caught anyone else? He's just well done for a F/M het relationship in that game. Zev's relationship is not as well programmed by a long shot. |

I'm not surprised that she doesn't attract male players. Isabela attracts lots and lots of M/F players; it's just not reflected in this particular poll and I'm curious as to why that is. Josephine is also ranked highest for M/F players here whilst Morrigan is relatively low... having been in this fandom since DAO, I can safely say Isabela and Morrigan are hugely popular with dudes. Maybe it's because it's in the Inquisition subforum? Or because it's the most recent game? 🤔 |

And Blackwall is a great romance too.
As for my voting: F/Zevran and F/Leli for DAO F/Isabella for DA2 (although I do like Anders and Fenris too, but I can't resist Isa with my sarcastic Hawke) F/Bull, F/BLackwall and F/Sera (only for non-elven Inquis) for DAI

If I restricted it to one per orientation I suspect Alistair wouldn't be quite as high, as even though many prefer him in DAO, there are a looot of Solas and Cullen fans that would ultimately choose one of those over Alistair. |

Female Protagonist/Male LI category: Lady Hawke and Fenris. The brooding elf and sarcastic lunatic look like a perfect couple.
Male Protagonist/Male LI category: Inquisitor and The Iron Bull (why do people forget about "the"? in his name). Although it starts like casual relationship with some kink in it, I think it evolves in one of the more deeper and better romances in franchise.
Male Protagonist/Female LI category: I have more candidates (as they are my canon romances at this moment):
- Warden/Leliana: Although I have some problems with Leliana, I pair her quite often with my protagonist. Her softer side goes well with my protagonist's bloody lunacy.
- Hawke/Merrill: I'm an evil man. Rivarly romance + Hawke's regretful stare to the sky after sex = Okay, THIS is my canon!
- Inquisitor/Josephine: Despite what many people say, her face is alright. I like how she's only pacifist in... DA in general actually. It's a pity Inquisitor can't share her enthusiasm for higher culture.
Female Protagonist/Female LI category: I really don't have any favourite here. I usually play male protagonists and when I play a female one, it's because I like pairing her with a particular romance option. So far, no f/f romance option got my interest.
