The only thing that the asari are "masters" at is being a snack for us! Does your disgusting parasitic race even exist in the Mass Effect universe? It's never been proven that it doesn't exist in the ME universe.

It's never been proven that it doesn't exist in the ME universe. The burden of proof lays with WeareVenom. Until we cover the entire ME universe, anything can exist. I partially wrote a fanfic where Bucky was thrown into the Thames (which is where he was considered dead until his reappearance as Winter Soldier), scooped up by the Collectors and stuck in one of those amber thingies that held everyone they collected. Shepard broke him out in 2185. So if Bucky can exist in my ME canon, then so can Venom. Just sayin'.

It was actually to slow to escape the geth fleet. That's problematic and I can't say how it would be especially useful during evacuations. It wasn't too slow to escape the geth fleet since it already did. Remember the second scene showing it flying away from the Citadel? I would guess the council is already onboard at that time. Why didn't the Commander have the ship fly away from the battle to get the council to safety? Instead it flew back to the battle to do a whole lot of nothing. The fault lies with the Commander for the ship being destroyed along with the council. So much for that master species crap, right?

So much for that master species crap, right? well it is my annoyance(i am being very nice here) with the Council and their respective security is due to Their Security putting them into a slow Gigantic target that any moderate intelligent commander would try to destroy or disable quickly. I do admit that Ship is powerful and that is a good reason to take it out of play quickly. Also if I was protecting them that I would get them on to a much smaller faster if not a stealthier ship than the Destiny Asension. And Use Destiny Asension to cover their asses. In short, the Council are fucking idiots to put themselves in that situation and their security if they did surived should be fired for letting them do that.

I 've said before that the council were not in any immediate danger when the geth first attacked. The Commander says, 'abandon the Citadel'. I get that, Try to lure the enemy away from the Citadel to avoid any damage to the station. Then she says,'evacuate the council'. Why? They're not in any immediate danger. If anything, let security get them to a shuttle and fly away from the battle.

Maybe it's less that humans are special and more that the asari really aren't as special as they were always made out to be. Considering the timeline, the prothean intervention into asari evolution is pretty much the only reason the salarians aren't ruling the galaxy.

Considering the timeline, the prothean intervention into asari evolution is pretty much the only reason the salarians aren't ruling the galaxy. The writers want humans to look good and be central and integral to the series and must therefore pull all kinds of ridiculous nonsense that contradicts the setting. The asari should have a much larger presence throughout the known galaxy and should be leading in every field. They were the first to arrive on the galactic stage and they've had eons to solidify their positions. With their head start and innate abilities, the rest of the galaxy should be struggling to catch up. Especially us newcomers.

The story would have been better with Humans as an actual underdog, rather than the lip service paid to the idea.

The story would have been better with Humans as an actual underdog, rather than the lip service paid to the idea. Oh, for sure. I've long believed this would have all made more sense if we had lost the First Contact War, became a client race of the turians, and earned our freedom and a seat on the Council by proving just how valuable we were. I can imagine this taking a few hundred years. Tech matching every other Council race out there? A Council seat when the race that created the freaking galactic economy has been ignored is supposed to make sense? Sure, maybe the volus aren't warriors but they have to money to fund the construction of fleets. That's got to count for something.
