A very handsome Warden Aeducan. What's he thinking about, I wonder? "In another life, I would have been king under the mountain..."
(Got a major Thorin vibe from this Aeducan, wonder if it was intentional) It occurs to me, being a dwarf is good for a first playthrough. Since you've never been to the surface, it gives you a perfect excuse to ask all the "stupid questions" (e.g what's a Templar?) that help you learn more about the game world. Doubly so for a commoner. Nice catch! The stupid questions do work best for a Dwarf Commoner, when you recall one of a merchant's parting lines from their origin; "Now unless you're going to buy something, I need to unload and get back home before the rain sets in. That's... water from the sky, by the way."I really dig the notion that something as simple as rain could be a totally alien concept to Orzammar Dwarves, stuff like that really make me admire the detail that the writers went into the worldbuilding. Props especially to Jennifer Hepler if that particular tidbit came from her, I know she wrote the majority of the Dwarven lore in DAO. Pity that DAO didn't go into other details like that. Would have been nice to know how Aeducan/Brosca reacted to seeing a sunrise/set, rainbows, clouds, stars and the moon(s) for the first time? Read some good fics though that took this idea and ran with it.

Wooooh, so many familiar faces! I'm sure I noticed DalishRanger lurking around the other day, as well I'm still around yup. I just usually come on here only after updates in news or a new release is coming out soon. I'm way more active on Tumblr and Steam (I actually talk to some peeps here somewhat often on Steam). Been a busy year for me! Got promoted to creative director so I'm all kinds of preoccupied haha.

Argh, I noticed the "cheering dwarves" gif in the first post was down (may you sit on a cactus on fire, photobucket) so I uploaded it on imgur and copied the URL into the "insert picture" link, but for some reason it's not working. I am sad.

What's he reacting to? If I remember right, it was the summoning of the ghost of the Ogre that killed Duncan. But it's been a while since I played Return to Ostagar, so who knows. Also: nugs!

Ooh, I think about stuff like that a lot. One of the first things I do to flesh out my Orzammar dwarves is to figure out how they'd react to surface phenomena, everything from rain to lightning to furniture being the wrong size to the lack of strict castes. And I like that Morrigan points out to Alistair that Aeducan/Brosca wouldn't know the way to Orzammar from the surface. I love that they included little details like that, even if they missed out on others. I try to imagine how weird simple things like the sky or grass would be to someone who's lived in caves their entire lives. The reverse is probably true too though, for surface dwarves that go to Orzammar, like Inquisitor Cadash if they say they've been; must feel really constraining and cramped even in the wide open areas. Wow, congratulations on the promotion! Hopefully we have more news sooner or later... the wait for DA4 is driving me mad. Thank you! I'm really excited and I love where I work, so it's pretty great! Been hitting the ground running with it, aha... We're a small company but I still have a lot of stuff to do in my new role, some of which I was just doing before the promotion anyway because I'm a go-getter if I like what I'm doing. Oh the wait is driving me absolutely nuts, especially after the shafting Andromeda got. What's he reacting to? If I remember right, it was the summoning of the ghost of the Ogre that killed Duncan. But it's been a while since I played Return to Ostagar, so who knows. Well, more like a zombie than a ghost since it's still in solid form, and it was the one that killed Cailan - but yeah, that was it. The necromancer genlock resurrects it - still has Duncan's two swords in its chest.

A small part of my brain wanted to point out how condensation and moisture build up can simulate rain underground. But after taking a second look at my favorite Legionnaire's adorkable joy in the simple things, my heart told my head to shut up .

Sigrun is easily my favorite dwarf we've met so far. Varric is obviously the paragon of manliness, but he doesn't really identify with dwarf culture. Sigrun offered an interesting perspective as a member of the Legion of the Dead; despite considering herself to be dead already, she generally kept a positive attitude and a curiosity about the surface. I would love it if she appeared in DA4 (I don't care what the epilogue slides say since the writers retcon them all the time anyway).

As much as I love Cadash Inquisitors, I can never decide who their love interest should be every time. Any suggestions for who should get to sweep Malika off her feet and into the sack? Gotten to Skyhold and have casually flirted with everyone, but have yet to lock in anyone specifically. Decisions, decisions.

Sera! I'm a big fan of Blackwall/Cadash, but Sera is also a good choice. I do like the idea of Blackwall/Cadash both being reformed criminals and the fan art of that pairing always looks cute. It's just a shame that Blackwall's romance content is a bit underwhelming in both Inquisition and Trespasser, which makes me wonder if would be that rewarding to play? Bull was not really a contender, cause I have issues with his romance. I dislike how he insists we want to be the sub in this relationship and that you can't disagree without ending the relationship. Also during the make-out cutscene, his presumption that we wanted him to smack our arse... which the Inquisitor's reaction afterwards suggested hurt and was a little uncomfortable.
That's also my one complaint about his relationship with Dorian, that he's a bit too presumptuous at times about what Dorian wants and broadcasting details of their relationship that Dorian clearly would rather stay private.
Bull's romance sadly makes me like his character less, when it should've made me like him more. Seeing a lot of calls for Sera, who I was already leaning more towards going for. She checks the boxes for great personality, good content and excellent banter. And I already had a blast romancing her with my Adaar, so lets see how my Cadash fares with smooshy goodness!

As usual, lava isn't portrayed in a realistic way. Seriously, the temperature in Orzammar should be unbearable.
It is the old "lava is harmless as long as you don't touch it", which just isn't true.

I was going for Josie, but Sera ninjamanced me and she is a great fit for my little Cadash I had a human male mage go for Josie. Josie's romance is also quite cute, but I prefer Sera's in that it's fun and easy, something I like for a Lady Cadash.

As usual, lava isn't portrayed in a realistic way. Seriously, the temperature in Orzammar should be unbearable. It is the old "lava is harmless as long as you don't touch it", which just isn't true. If you assume that there are hundreds of (hidden) ventilation shafts leading to the surface, that provide fresh air and regulate the temperature in the Thaig, that might fix the convection problem. Otherwise, there's no good explanation for why Orzammar isn't a giant furnace that's cooking everyone alive inside it? But the random lava fountains and waterfalls in people's homes? Yeah, there's no good explanations for them at all. Not only does it seems ridiculously unsafe to have around the home (what if you tripped and fell into it), but even if they provide some kind of central heating, having lava behind the walls is a bad idea waiting to happen! Unless the walls are insanely thick, they should be glowing red hot with all that lava running behind them and scalding to the touch. And what if the walls are damaged at any point, leading to a leak? Turns out you really should have listened when your kids warned you that "the floor is lava!" With my Lia Cadash I'm doing the Sera romance at the moment and love it. I was going for Josie, but Sera ninjamanced me and she is a great fit for my little Cadash I had a human male mage go for Josie. Josie's romance is also quite cute, but I prefer Sera's in that it's fun and easy, something I like for a Lady Cadash. Josie almost ninjamanced Malika in Val Royeaux, but Sera won her back and got revenge (via a bucket of water) with her pranks. Well played, Sera.
