Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (and Re-Reckoning)

Woo! I'm keeping an eye on this.

Interesting to hear. I have too many games to play so I might pass on this one, but only because of lack of time. And maybe things are different once it's out. I liked the original enough for a replay with a remastered edition.

I absolutely love this game. But I won't buy this remaster, because when I want to play it again, I will simply pop the copy I already own into my PS3.

I would be very happy to purchase a sequel though.

Short Version:
Think "colorful Skyrim" and you're aces.

Long Version:
It's a big game with a lot of lore, and like Skyrim, you can pick-n-choose what abilities you want.
Divided into "Might", "Finesse", and "Sorcery" (which are exactly what they sound like), you unlock "Destinies" which translate to character classes.

You can pick any Destiny you have unlocked, and switch at any time.
You have your usual assortment of fantasy weapons (Longswords, Greatswords, Bows, Daggers, Staves, etc.) but there's also Sceptres and Chakrams.

Sceptres use your mana pool to fire long-range blasts that deal elemental damage.
Chakrams are throwable discs that deal a small amount of physical as well as their elemental damage.

The main story is that the world is driven by Fate, and individuals called Fate-Weavers read the Tapestry of Fate to see the future.
What makes you different is that, A) You died, then came back; and You don't have a place on the Tapestry.
You can rewrite the Fates of those you come across, or unravel them.

The choice is yours.

Looking forward to the remaster I liked KoA:R. Hopefully with the remaster they fix the few outstanding bugs that there were in the original.

I'm also thinking about getting the PC version of Horizon Zero Dawn as that game has always interested me. And if that's not bad enough there's also a new D&D based game that might be good called Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

To me this is nothing like skyrim. Skyrim is way bigger and very aimless imo. You don't care about the characters or the npc's in skyrim. Having said that this is a fun and colorful game. I have pre-ordered and look forward to playing

I agree about that. Amalur has some really interesting npcs and storyline. With the Elder Scrolls games, I like the World, but the characters are often very bland.

If this was just another remaster I wouldn't buy it, but since I like the game and new DLC is coming, I will but Fate Edition. Even if we got this game as free upgrade, we would have to buy DLC later for more or less same price as it is now with discount.

Now that zones aren't capped you can do what you want and then go back and do things you missed. Experiment with classes; you can respec any time you want with increased gold cost, but tat isn't a problem since gold isn't a issue (at least it wasn't in old game).

I don't see much remastering (I watched game play over Twitch); I have the original game btw. For those who has the original, there's a discount until 23 Sep. 

From some of the reviews I read (players who owned the original game already); keys cannot be rebind, a number of reported crashes, no options to optimize graphics, laziest effort of "remastering".
