so origin wont even launch now, i went for the full uninstall stuff and tried to install origin 9 which was far more stable
and less annoying.
It tries to update and fail at the end ...
no more origin for now on !

Has the downgrade method worked for anyone recently? It seems like according to this EA support thread, it's no longer possible to use the XP/Vista compatibility mode to install the old version. However, I'm on the latest version and it's working fine on my computer, which tells me that it may be some specific problem on your end. Did anything about your PC change in the last few days? |

ME2 isn't connecting to the Cerberus Network so I thought I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling to a different disk.  Got to click this 18 times for every bit of DLC. Yay. Go Origin! |

I just had a scary conversation with a nice person on Origin call support. My game will not allow me to sign in to EA servers, and it is an immediate thing not like the old Retaliation glitch, immediate after splash screen it goes to Error servers offline blah blah. Origin was "not down" when I called, according to the support agent and what I could find online. I described my issue, what steps I had tried, how it was reproduced, and in the back of my mind I start feeling an alarm building. He starts talking about older games, and how sometimes their servers become less reliable (game is P2P but I let him go with it because of matchmaker) and that <... a shudder creeps ...> those servers sometimes <... don't fucking say it dude, just STFU now bro ...> get shut down unexpectedly. Then he recognized from his agent feed that there was an uptick in other games having issues, and said that it did indeed appear that Origin sucks a lot more than usual once again and appears to be down in general, not a game specific issue. I thanked him for the information, and breathed a little... disappointed I cannot go Melee DemoGrill like I wanted to today, but hopeful that there is still time... As some old funny BSNer used to say about soloing, he was running out of time. Are we running out of time?  |

Why not use Discord? That would require me being social. I have difficulty with that sometimes, prefer now the tranquility and can still PTT if communication is really necessary lol. I appreciate stuff like Discord and TeamSpeak and such and when we were still doing "new" things I used them a bunch. Now, yes, the ~ say lol gets used a fair bit. |
