I just hope EA feeds them soon or else I might do something desperate. Like playing MEAMP.

The Galaxy Map is working correctly for me in the last 3 days. Rainbow banners are still there, though.

Origin does one think right over Steam. Cloud saves.
Lost countless game Steam save files to windows reinstalls, and there's no easy way to change save files to secondary drives. Not only that, Steam game save files aren't saved in the same spot for all games. So if you remember your Steam save files before a reinstall, you'll have to hunt down all save file locations on C Drive.

You know what's always shocking to me? When there is a leading platform that does a lot of things (not everything) right and competitors totally fail to just take a look at it and basically build something similar. And it's not like Origin was just released a few weeks ago. You really have to wonder what the fuck is going on in those companies. If I was in charge I'd be like "just rebuild everything they have minus the stuff that sucks, we make that better..." It's not just gaming clients, it's actually even worse in some other areas where competitors totally fail to just make their software at least as good if not better than the one of the market leader...

It's usually management that fails at this. People under them will say, "this will come back to bite you in the ass." And nothing will be done until something goes catastrophically bad and then management panics and proceeds to get pissed at the people who told them from the beginning that what they're doing is shit. "If it ain't catastrophically broke or costing us money don't fix it." TL:DR They don't care if it's not losing them money.

TL:DR They don't care if it's not losing them money. Well, I think it is losing them money. Or at least not making them as much more. Another more prominent example for this would be online pokersites. Big sites like Partypoker and 888 have been around for ages, yet their software in 2018 still is so horribly bad compared to Pokerstars. They pump money into all kinds of promotions and marketing but if you look at their software and compare it to Pokerstars you have to wonder what the fuck is wrong with the people who make these decisions. First thing I'd do is have the programming team build a client that is at least as good and smooth as the Pokerstars client. And that one isn't perfect either but it is the best that is out there and has been for the past ~15 years. And this is most likely a much more competitive market with so much money on the line - unlike Origin vs. Steam, because you can't chose... wanna play EA games? Then you have to use Origin.

And this is where they get you. Wanna play x-amount of games by EA you may like? You gotta deal with Origin; if you like the game(s) you'll deal with the shittiness because your enjoyment/love of the game outweighs the shittiness of Origin. Also (and sadly), it's probably a minority who actually care about it enough to say something. FIFA, Madden, Need for Speed total almost 400 million sales (all time, and that's only 3 games) for EA, plus there's us console plebs who don't deal with Origin so there's 3/4 (ish) platforms that don't use it [Origin]. How much could Origin be costing them in the grand scheme of things? What percentage of total revenue is it costing them? I'd assume a snowflake in an avalanche; and until it starts costing them big, they're not doing shit about it.

Is (combined) console use really at 3:1 over PC for gaming? Either way, I think you diminutize overmuch. Also, it shows the ever-popular myopia of focusing only on the now, disregarding the future. Consoles will fade, much faster than most would expect. I think we are rapidly approaching a gaming singularity, as hardware continues to shrink. /Speculation

I was saying 3/4 platforms (Xbox, PS, Wii) don't have to deal with Origin to run an EA game so why would they [console players] care about Origin. Idk I can't see consoles fading/dying, they should have by now with PC being superior, but we're seeing games promoting cross platform play. Worldwide PC own console, but I did see something that said in the US it's something like 47% to 27% preferring console over PC. I'm ok with being a console pleb; I prefer controller over KB+M. Yes FPS does suck every now and then but idc, sue me EDIT: Take my links with a grain of salt, it's what I got with a quick google search.

^ yeah they can be linked, and you can play almost any XB game on PC, because, well, it was made on a PC What I see as an opportunity lost is MS not baking it in as the fixed choice. Almost all gaming PCs run Windows.

I totally remember it because back then I still played Counter-Strike competitively and Steam was a pure nightmare. But unlike Origin they did not have some footsteps ahead of them they could just follow. Still doesn't excuse some of the shit Valve pulled back then but Origin and Uplay both just basically had to copy Steam in terms of functions and settings and improve on it. Or just let it go and don't make their own software, especially Ubisoft since they still sell their new games on Steam anyways unlike EA.

No reason why you should be limited in gaming peripherals if you wanted to compete in those games. Not that you might want to, just again being a consumer advocate.

I look at it as if I put KMB on my Xbone I'd rather just build a mid/upper-mid tier gaming rig and be done with it. I haven't played PC since the 90s after I fell in love with console playing my friend's SNES and eventually when I got my original Xbox for Halo:CE and GTA: Vice City (when that finally came to xbox) and haven't looked back. Halo 2/3 LAN parties were tons of fun back in the day and made for some awesome memories. I know PC is better performance wise, there's just something about console and the controller and group chats, etc.

Although I'd obviously like them on PC as well with better FPS and M+KB for some of them that involve shooting stuff.

Mgamerz came up with this reply on Reddit to someone asking about the rainbow banners 'It's server side issues. Maybe they turned off TLS1.1/1.0 and it broke the serverside banners. Given it hasn't been fixed yet, it's either not possible to fix without a game update (tls) or they're no longer maintaining the servers at all for blaze. I'm gonna go with the latter though, I don't expect me3mp to last another year unfortunately.' I don't like the sound of that last part and really hope he's wrong. www.reddit.com/r/MECoOp/comments/9p0erv/anyone_else_experiencing_this_problem_when/
