That gameplay looks sick AF. All I know about Nemesis was what my cousins told me way back then when I was a kid He seems like a Mr X of sorts? as in he'll be following you around and making your life impossible (for REAL this time, since Mr X is kind of a joke). And unlike Mr X, Nemesis rans right at you, uses weapons (a rocket launcher and with this remake, a flamethrower. Oldin save us if he will also have a freaking mini gun!). Oh, you'll freak out when he's in his 2nd form (it makes MR X'S second form look like a pushover).

I wonder if this one will be harder than RE2. I assume there's also going to be 2 playthroughs judging by the characters and the videos.

Very dangerous when in groups, so keep your shotgun or assault rifle loaded and with spare ammo. Grave Digger is a boss. A giant worm infected with the virus. You only encountered it twice, they may change that in this game, however.

In the OG RE3 Nemesis is a Mr X on steroids who can run, use guns, has a tentacle whip, and appears a few times more. In the Remake Mr X wasn't that difficult because he only power walks at you, can be stunned with a few headshots, only appears a few times and can be despawned quickly. Remake Nemesis appears to be worse because he's more nimble, uses a new flamethrower, is stated to be caple of setting up random traps, and stalks the player more often than X. The future ragequits will be hilarious.

I know its a RE2 thread, but eh might as well combine the two since we have been talking about RE3...here's the most recent vid...
Looks good...i like that they have Carlos still flirting with her.....in one exchange they have her saying "f**k you" in an exchange....which seems a bit out of character for her, Jill is tough don't get me wrong, but her overall persona is kinda of a softer element...knowadays every female lead gotta be strong as nails, tough, independent, needs no help...etc..but eh...overall the game looks impressive...I like nemesis animations so far.....hard to say if he will be terrifying or a wee bit annoying....it does make sense that he uses his tentacles to snare you closer and he's a bit more aggressive than Mr. X.
Capcom's engine continues to shine here....everything looks impressive...

The lackluster A & B scenarios in RE2 Remake had me hoping they would remedy that with the return of the Live Selection for RE3 Remake but the fact that isn't coming back either is just ugh--Spiders being omitted too. I like the remakes but the fact that they lack so much of what made the original games great and doesn't include enough new content to balance that out makes it hard to love them the way I did the original Resident Evil Remake.

I like the remakes but the fact that they lack so much of what made the original games great and doesn't include enough new content to balance that out makes it hard to love them the way I did the original Resident Evil Remake. I agree....both A&B scenarios felt EXACTLY the same in RE2.....in the original the games felt VERY different..almost like you was playing two different games and the games played differently depending on who you started with first. And while coding for such scenarios in RE2 Remake probably would have caused the game to be delayed a bit, i do believe that they could have included the "Live Selection" for RE3. It would not have been as heavy to code as it relates to what needed to be done in RE2 scenarios, just a simple selection and choose the path coded for that selection and keep it moving.....so i'm not saying capcon is being lazy on that front,....(well maybe a little bit).. ....but i won't go as far as to say this is a cash grab because the production values and the quality seen in these games (RE2 Remake included) are truly stunning.....so regardless of the short-comings, RE3 looks like it is still going to deliver an incredible experience.... Lastly while i do like Jill's model here, i would have hoped they would have used Julia's Voth model.... ....she is the perfect "Jill" imo..... media.alienwarearena.com/media/d47a0179df41ddae76e577e5e23b508b.jpg

Played the demo yesterday. All i can say about nu Jill is that i miss Voth, Mikhail's accent is terrible, Carlos seemed like he was given a more reserved persona versus his old "Latino Heat" gimmick, but he's still a cool character, and his redesign is my favorite of all the remake characters. The ammo was abundant like OG RE3's Easy mode even though the demo was set on Standard, while extra ttems can be found in breakable crates. The Knife has infinite uses but it's power is weak and i think that it was a mistake to to ditch REmake 2's knife system. The dodging mechanic is op if you can time it right. I had more difficulty dodging the zombies than Nemesis, but found some success with perfect dodging by double tapping the key the moment you hear the zombie scream when they lunge at the player. Also Nemesis is a cheating bastard like Mr. X. He can be two rooms behind Jill and the guy just drops down in front of you like he's Spiderman.

I knew it was going to be more action oriented the moment I saw the guys rocking M4s and shit. But for what I saw on youtube they made zombies faster and less "sitting ducks" like in RE2 rmk, to compensate for the fact that ammo was more abundant and you have the dodge ability. Guess it's gonna be less avoid zombies when possible and more shoot every single last one of them. Sounds like the knife is kinda meh, gonna miss tossing a flash bang and killing lickers with it. I did read that RE3 was supposed to be more actiony, so apparently the remake isn't far off?

I did read that RE3 was supposed to be more actiony, so apparently the remake isn't far off? This one seems like it's more action oriented than the original due to there being a lot of explosive hazards in the environment you could use to take out multiple zombies at once, and i don't know if i was getting lucky or if the crit chance was increased but i was proccing critical headshots shots every other zombie, and even managed to get three crit shots in a row. The zombies are tanky like in REmake 2 so my preferred method in taking them out is 3-4 headshots if crits don't proc, and knifing them when they are down.

Jill before she was written this way might have said something like "thanks "or "will do"....but geez in this day and age any assistance from a guy in these games is frowned upon or somehow in somebody's mind is made to think that in doing so is making the female character look weak....stop the madness.... ....in the older games even tho Jill didn't like the guy like that, you got the feeling that deep inside Jill was crushing on the dude a little bit and in a good way,.....in the old game i believe she said "keep dreaming", but was never really a jerk to him in the game..... Miranda was a badass in ME3, but she was written in a way that grounded her and made her organic with her backstory...now of course i'm not expecting Capcom to do anything like that with this game, just that Jill just needs to display some of that softer tone that she is known for.....maybe the full game will display some of that but i don't think so.....i know it may seem like i'm in a bit of a cranky mood, and i still plan on getting the game,...i'm just a bit tired of seeing this type of tired persona when it comes to female characters....

Normally i would attribute Jill's hostility towards Umbrella employees to the company's involvement in the Mansion incident, and built up stress from the outbreak, but the demo's brief glimpse at Nu-Jill's persona flies in face of the character's original incarnation who despite her initial distrust of the U.B.C.S. she remained empathetic to their situation, was cool headed, didn't make light of their failure or take snipes at Carlos or Mikhail after every sentence. The 'I know what a radio is!" retort was cringe while the "Fuck you!" was very tryhard. In RE2make Claire's and Leon's personas were similar to their original incarnations unlike R3make's Jill but since this is only a demo that gave us a brief glimpse at the character i hope that's all there is to the edginess. Now about the weapons, the M3 shotgun is trash. You can fire at a zombie who's only a few meters away from you with the pellets doing no damage, and the radius of the spread is so comically large that it looks like you were trying to recreate da Vinci's "Vitruvian Man". Also even though it's understandable that your knife can't be used as a defensive weapon, but the grenades should still be classified as one.
