LOL just noticed in one of my pic's above my horse in the rushes being a "stalking horse" and there are two dead Herons (?) near me. I did a spear thrust at a Boar and they flew by just as I did and killed them both. Killed two birds with one spear!!!!!

Today was the day I finished up the primary content for Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. I spent far too much time rage yelling at my monitor during naval combat and then finished up collecting all the remaining Ostraka's. The only thing I have left to do if I wanted to get everything done before doing the DLC content would be to grind out my remaining engravings, but that isn't something I care to do. The other thing I got done was the removal of the mercenary that was fourteen levels higher then me. They were only six levels higher this time so it wasn't nearly as problematic and I also fought them in a more open area so I could avoid their poison bombs.
After getting this far in the game I do think my biggest frustration would still be the sea combat, it always seems to be a 50/50 chance for success. While at the same time if I get the drop on a mercenary at my level I seem to have almost a 100% chance of a one-shot.

Are you using legendary Lieutenants? they make a big difference to the stats of The Adrestia and you can pretty much not have Kassandra/Alexios board as they are more than capable of cleaning up the enemy crew if you want. Do you have the upgrade for the flame thrower you get from Legend of The First Blade DLC? My basic approach is upon approach of the target or targets I to try and stay out of range and multiple targets will often separate at some point and then use Travel Speed to get within 300 metres of your main target and then row as fast as possible and try to aim to RAM the ship a midships. If you have the flame thrower hit the ship with that and then/or hit it with flame Javelins and arrows and take it down as fast as possible re ramming it if you can and then board it to restore health. Flame arrows and Javelins are a massive bonus in combat if you have the ship adrenaline to use them. When boarding Ring of Chaos is great, activate flames or poison if you use them, jump across and run to the biggest group of enemies and hit Ring of Chaos. This will at least knock people down and damage them and if you are lucky knock several overboard. Ring of Chaos recharges pretty fast so you can use it multiple times. If faced with an elite enemy I use Sparta Kick and sometimes they'll get knocked overboard, Heroic Strike and Fury of The Bloodline (which also gives you adrenaline). Alternately stay on the boat and multi-shot the crew with arrows to at least reduce their health but you'll be a sitting target for their archers and leave the melee to your Lieutenants.

Do you have the upgrade for the flame thrower you get from Legend of The First Blade DLC? Crap. Do you only get that from the DLC story? I was planning on skipping Natakas (or whatever his name is) and the whole boring mess this time.

I played the DLC as once I defeat the Tempest and see them off, that's the end of that story and never finish it. (Also may have used the Adrestia to destroy the boat they were on once it was far enough out to sea. It's the only way to be sure).

I skipped it last time as I played as Kass again but will do it this time as I haven't played it as Alexios before.

I do have a couple of legendary LTs, but I probably don't have enough of them to really make a difference. I guess that is something I will have to do in the future, it just felt too random to spend a lot of time on. Any specific things I should do to find good candidates such as go for mercenaries or other enemy types like Polemarches? Right now the biggest thing I have going for me is I have two that give me more health with a successful boarding so I almost get all my health back other after that I look to improve my archers. I will try the waiting game for them to separate, whenever I have done that in the past it always felt that no matter how long I waited they all stayed pretty close together and all chained together. I will be starting the DLC in the next couple of days and then will have the flamethrower, for other upgrades I have all but the last one for I only have around two million coin and those ones are expensive. If I start running into boarding issues I like the Ring of Chaos idea, but normally I just hit them with a couple of multi-shots (I think that is the one that hits eight targets) and most of the time all but the captain is dead or one shot away.

The Shop in Phokis where you use Orichalcum has Artemis for sale ATM or it did, look at it as soon as you can if you have the Ori. It seems to be featuring Legendary Lieutenants over the last few weeks, I got Charon and someone else. Otherwise the top Mercenaries and sometime the Leaders have food stats, when you view them with Ikaros it shows their stats for the ship. Even people from quests can have good stats, I felt sorry for Eppie and recruited him and he is actually a legendary Lieutenant. The key is to check them out with Ikaros. Ship armour is obviously a useful stat anything that helps with damage etc. Sorry have to rush off will think some more about it and respond tomorrow.

So yesterday Uncovered a lot of the map areas that I hadn't cleared and cleared some places but left others that I knew would need to be cleared in future quests. Did a conquest battle to draw out a cult member and finished the Heroes of the Cult cultists line. Did the daily Ori Mercenary who proved to be a pain in the butt and I had to actually use 2nd wind for the first time in a long time. He was also a member of the Teleporters Guild, I had to fast travel 8 times to get anywhere near him. It also crystalized a problem I was having after last resetting my ability points, I couldn't figure out why my adrenaline kept depleting. Seems I forgot to put points back into "Adrenaline on Hit" !!!! I also seem to having trouble killing enemies as fast as I was, will reset my abilities again today and try and figure that out as well. Did another Ori quest to help woman, Fast Travelled 7,000m away, ran 500m only to find her cornered in a fort surrounded by 8 wolves. I unfortunately could not kill all 8 fast enough and she died and the quest failed!!!! The only real quest I did was that I visited Phidias in Elis as I was there anyway and then teleported all over finding the statues and then to the Ancient Stronghold to unlock the room there. Couple of Pic's, FRAPS stopped taking photos at some stage More animal dramas, all these wolves were merged a one until I speared them. I have flame and Melee damage applies to nearby enemies engraved. Spent a while being a tourist in Elis, listening to bands, singers, watching people wrestling and guys playing those big long horn things. Not sure what this guys gig was:

dazk Thanks for the video I will have to watch it tomorrow. Today for me was the first two parts of the Legacy of the Blade DLC and there definitely were eye-rolling parts and a distinct dislike with the tree section of part 1 and the ending of part 2. I do swear Ubisoft made the DLC to have so much travelling to pad out the time needed for I felt over half my time was travelling to sections that were between fast travel points.

Yeah there are some eye rolling parts of the DLC, I skipped it last time as I had already done it with Kass in my first PT but will do it this time as I haven't done it with Alexios yet. The Fast Travel Points are ridiculous throughout most of the game, sometimes 3 right near each other but most of the time too far apart and quest in particular in the DLC seem to always be equidistant between 3 of the damn things!!!!!! And yes it would not surprise me if they did it to extend game time but it's hardly necessary in such a huge game!!!! That said Makedonia is one of my favourite places in the game, so its not too bad having to ride or run through most of it.

Those Mercs travel on their path for the estimated time it should take you to ride from your location to the quick travel point. I don't know if it's intended or a bug. If you can guess their destination, you can travel pretty close by choosing the correct spawn. It often misfires, but once I managed to quick travel to 50 meters of the target Reminds me of my baby steps in the ancient Silent Hunter game (submarine WW2 simulator) - I didn't know you can mark targets in order to make the torpedoes auto aim. So I got amazingly good at eyeballing and hitting a moving target from a 3-4 kilometer range

So yesterday had an interesting experience in AOD. Headed to Mykonos to do the Delian Rebellion quests for Kyra and Thaletas and the first thing I discovered was that I had no FT points open on Delos even though I had been there earlier. The whole island was uncleared. Well I then thought maybe I hadn't but arrived there and started doing quests such as Sokrates freeing the crazy rebel guy and I thought I am sure I have done this already. Then did the bear quest and stunned it and tamed it bear first before going to see Iola and thought I am sure I have done this already in this PT, went to see Iola and had to go back and kill the bear as the quest requires you do the investigation. Unfortunately I'd untamed it (would have liked to see the ramifications if I had gone to see her with the bear) so I assume that is why it was back there even though the map said it was cleared. Then went to The Temple of Apollo and went hang on I came here to get an Ostraka which is now ticked as found in my inventory. So headed to my screenshots of the game and sure enough I had done all these quests????? So WTF happened? Can only assume that upon going to Mykonos for the first time it caused Delos to reset????? If that's the case that just very strange indeed!!!! Anyway, completed the Rebellion quests and couldn't help myself and romanced Kyra, I really do thing her romance is the best even though I had to kill Thaletas but he did attack me so...……………… Today I think I'll go do Roxanna's quests and the battle of 100 hands or whatever its called. Tamed Bear Untamed Bear Untamed Iola Tamed Iola - this was brilliant, not sure what I did differently or whether it only happens if you play as Alexios but it was great. After fighting Thaletas, Alexios was attacked by a random Alpha Lion!!!! And attacked by random Athenian soldiers while trying to do Kyra's hunting quest plus being attacked by wolves while robbing the fort, Kyra just seems to attract random attacks??? Kyra Back to the ship, Alexios in a good mood and Iola joins Barnabas's crew as a Lieutenant

Tamed Bear Forget the rainbow unicorns, just put a saddle on that thing. And I can't help but think, that wolf... scarf... thing... can't be comfortable. I dunno, maybe that massive head protects her blindside.

I played a bit more of Odyssey, Kassandra is finally leaving Athene (storywise, I left the place for a while previously to do low level area maps). That Athenian party was boring and Kassandra was weird looking in a dress. I know right, I so want to ride a "War Bear" into battle!!!!!! Maybe in Valhalla???? Bearserker
