Today I got attacked by a merc 18 levels above me Is that supposed to happen?? It was when I got Alexios' baby blanket from that one priest and Kassandra confidently states she will "take care of these two." And "these two" turned into at least half a dozen, and then two mercs joined in. When I saw the one with the red skull above his head, I quickly went to the map to pay the bounties, thinking that would make him lose interest. It didn't work and I had to run. A lot. Thankfully, that one and the merc near my level ended up going different directions, so I hunted down the lower level merc as punishment for making my life difficult. Actually, there were several instances today where I managed to get attacked my multiple mercs at once. Or multiple boars. Or multiple pirate ships. I think I had to sink 4 in a row when I was just trying to get somewhere. It was a super fun time. The boars one-hitted that soldier. Poor guy. I tried to be stealthy here. Really I did. Hippocrates didn't want unnecessary deaths, and I left a bloodbath behind. They attacked me first Before all that unintended murder, Kassandra ran into Phoibe. She didn't die of the sickness, my other bought of unintended murder! Yay! Kass got bored enough at the party to sleep with this guy. My least favorite fort so far. The people inside kept re-lighting the brazier even though I know I was hidden outside the walls in the bushes and they hadn't seen me. It took me WAY too long to get what I needed. Why did I choose this dialog option? I also did several ship upgrades, including new sails that you can't see anyway, and a fourth lieutenant.

The mercenary system is an absolute PITA but by about the time you get the third level spear upgrades to your abilities you'll be kicking their ass and i think I said it earlier, running away is a legitimate tactic. Especially once you get Rush Assassination, Heroic Strike or Critical Assassination upgraded to one hit them and then you can run away and hide and take them down with one hit. Then run away again. Signal brazier should always be the first priority!!!! Hippocrates needs to be brought down a peg or two so that comment is completely the way to go. Re the fort he sends you too, well the game objectives are at odds with Hippocrates objectives and buggered if I am going back there again. Alkibiades is the best quest giver, he'll give some good ones and I recommend always sleeping with him.

So didn't really do a lot yesterday, did the 15 kills with Heavy Sharp Weapons and 15 With Heavy Blunt weapons. Didn't do the charged kills as I have to reset my abilities for that ability and want to just leave it there so need to decide what melee ability I want to drop. Went and sank the Lakedonia which meant travelling ages from from Pephka and then just decided to sail all the way back planting Fast Travel Points on places I didn't have any or on other parts of Islands that I hadn't. It was kind of fun. Before I left Pephka I did one of the first Pre-Trials for the Minotaur and smacked the Strong man down: Got this new waist piece through the Lucky Dip and these great bracers from the shop and so changed Kass's look. Not sure about silver as a look on Kass???? Recruited a new Merc and reinstated some of my goddess Lieutenants The new girl getting it done when boarding, she was pretty impressive, even Athena took time out to watch her Enjoying some sailing I wound up just keeping Charged Attack for that reason for I had to respec a couple of times and felt I might as well just keep the ability for when I need it for the quests.

The mercs near my level aren't an issue. The issue is the one that was almost double my level. I was level 20, he was level 38. I had little hope of beating him. I hope that doesn't keep happening. Signal brazier should always be the first priority!!!! ??? Although, like I said, I wasn't even in the fort when this was happening. Most of the fort, based on their outlines, were not on alert, just the one dude who kept going to the brazier and I think one other one. They weren't reacting to me (or at least shouldn't have been) because they couldn't see me. I was trying to duck in and get the treasure as quietly as possible, with as few enemy interactions as possible.

Sorry my misunderstanding, the mercenary's will troll you all game unfortunately even the very highest level ones and yes it's very annoying. The good thing is you'll be able to take them all on soon and they have good loot. When you get Rush Assassination and Heroic Strike to L3 you can basically tag them and see where they are going then ambush them and drop them with one RA and maybe one HS. If they are on a horse if you need to get them off the horse before you can use RA so just shoot them with an arrow and then they get off and come looking for you. Sorry when I read it I didn't realise you were outside the fort. That does happen, a wolf or an opposition soldier will sometimes go into the fort and set them off.

I wound up just keeping Charged Attack for that reason for I had to respec a couple of times and felt I might as well just keep the ability for when I need it for the quests. Yeah that's what I have decided to do to and also I have kept rapid fire in case that's a weekly again. Found the easiest tactic for killing with Charged attack was to take out the bandits with paralyze arrows and then deliver the coup de grace with charged attack.

Nice, again I took advantage of the Arena and used Typhon's Mace and with the +20% damage to Heavy Charge Attacks I was one shot kills the enemies in the arena, so it took two rounds one for the my blunt heavy and one for my edged heavy and I did the charged during that time.

I was in Pephka and hadn't done the quest to rescue the fake minotaur guy's daughter and that camp has over 15 Bandits in it so just walked in there and started swinging. I can't remember which mace I used but it had a bonus for heavy weapons and I just added Heroic Strike. I also have melee and also assassin damage applies to nearby enemies as engravings on my sword and bow and so was taking multiple enemies out in the heavy weapon blunt component of the quest with 2 or 3 swings. The heavy blade one I couldn't be bothered just equipped one and just went to a couple of places in Korinthia and hacked till they dropped.

So yesterday completed the heavy weapons part of the Weekly Quests in Pephka then doing the rest of the Pre-Trials and facing the fearsome Minotaur "again" but this time we had a deep and meaningful conversation and instead. Kass then went and rescued his kidnapped daughter from Bandits. Then headed to Korinthia to complete the charged weapons componet of the Weekly to finish that and then roamed around clearing a few sites. Then had to return to Pephka to do the daily quest and after that decided to sail to Kythera and do the quests there. Picked up one to rescue an "Idiot Husband" and rescued a none too subtle, flirtatious priestess of Aphrodite and got three quests from her. Also picked up another new Merc for The Adrestia, I liked her armour. Helped this guy with a family problem And no I didn't "Fear his Moo" He does say some pretty funny things when you go to rescue his daughter Said rescued Daughter Diona the Priestess with her nasty looking sickle

Apart from a quick ori quest, I stumbled across a piece of the Pilgrim Set, and realized I only had one other piece for this. It's not as good an assassin set as some of the others, so I think I just passed on it at the time. But tonight I thought, what the hell... I might as well pick up the rest of it. It did take me to some temples I hadn't actually been in before. I might try the set out tomorrow and see just how much of a boost it gives the invisibility power.

Thanks! That looks pretty awesome. I'm sure it will prove useful. ------------------- Kassandra rush-assassinated two guards to get to talk to this dude with no tongue, and then just casually leaves the door open so everyone can hear her yelling. Chrysis met her end. Alkibiades must have a teleportation device. He is everywhere Kassandra goes. Delivered a very special package to this guy for Alkibiades and lied about who it was from. Can't implicate Kass's sometimes-lover, can I? Although now that I think about it, I forgot to do the name-signing quest for him before Athens turned into a wasteland. Hopefully he won't be too upset. Phoibe's back! And Kassandra made a new friend! Weeeeeee! Killed Monger in the cave. I figure making it public would turn him into a martyr. All seemed to be going well! Cultists dead, quest-givers satisfied...then I headed back to Athens. Of course, the plague had arrived. Nothing to be done about that. Wish I'd thought to take more screenshots when Athens still looked cheery, but that's ok. And then the game betrayed me. ...and I did not authorize this apology The reunion that followed helped, but I'm going to play Kassandra a lot meaner now.

dragontartare How good is that Zip line!!!!! There are a few decent ones in the game. How good is Kassandra's VA in that Phoibe scene and the Chrysis killing scene. Good choice re The Monger, Brasidas is always right!!!!! Don't be mean to mummy if you are working towards the happy ending in the game.

Only had an hour to play yesterday and just cleared a few "?" and did the quests for Diona stealing the poison, freeing the Mercenaries and going to the island to kill the captain and his soldiers. I actually didn't kill them I just paralysed them and recruited the Captain to The Adrestia which I have never done before. Spoke to Diona's sister and had already found the note. I am not sure why but finding the idiot husband for the woman by the wharves I couldn't save the husband, I always have before. There was a Lynx inside the cave and it jumped straight on him and killed him before I had a chance to even Rush Assassinate it or attack it as soon as I entered cave. Maybe it depends on an earlier dialogue response with the wife. Anyway she was super pissed off about it and threatened to send every mercenary in the Greek world after me!!!!! Just at that critical moment in stealth of course a dog wanders up and attacks you!!!!! Cranky old woman!!!! I know what you really intend with the poison!!!!

Good choice re The Monger, Brasidas is always right!!!!! I have to disagree. Killing the Monger in public is so much better. Dude literally gets ripped apart by prostitutes. And Brasidas is such a fair-weather friend screw what he thinks. Also wasn’t affected by the Phoebe scene, considering my first reaction to her in the first scene of the game was “ Well aren’t you cute. You don’t stand a chance making it through this game, do you?”

He's only working for the cult as his family are being held hostage and it'd be pretty sad to rescue them then kill him?

How many families did he destroy while working with the Cult? And sure you don't get his intel but I get it by killing Stentor anyway so I still expose the cultist king.

Also I don't think there is any evidence that I am aware of that he killed anyone, he's just needed by the cult for his grain.

I don't care about Lagos. Why should I? How many families did he destroy while working with the Cult? And sure you don't get his intel but I get it by killing Stentor anyway so I still expose the cultist king. I have sympathy for him because he's being forced against his will as he's being blackmailed. Also I don't think there is any evidence that I am aware of that he killed anyone, he's just needed by the cult for his grain. So he supplies food and money to people who are causing a war killing countless innocent people. As I said, ruining countless families. And he doesn’t even care about that part.

Its funny too my first PT I didn't kill Stentor and didn't get the guys info so I had to guess who the Spartan King was...and I was right. I was so proud.

The posts above seem to be filled with spoilers based on the few words I caught scrolling by, so I'm going to pretend they aren't there I did quests for mumsy dearest and her island today. This guy wasted a lot of my time because I assume the quest bugged out. It was easy to enter the quarry from the top level, kill two guys, and free Euneas. Except he wouldn't leave his cage. He didn't follow me when I ran out. I thought maybe I had to clear the entire quarry, which went...very badly. So badly that I reloaded and started over again. And AGAIN he wouldn't follow me. Eventually I stepped just outside the "red" boundaries of the quarry and saved the game there, then reloaded. Euneas was back in his cage, but he followed me out this time A Spartan ship kept getting in the way when I was sinking this Athenian one. It helped out a bit, but I would have preferred if it just buggered off and left the Athenians for me. Somewhere along the way, Kassandra picked up this neon green bow. By the time I finished mother dearest's quests, I needed a bit more leveling up to continue, so I found Alkibiades and committed more crimes for him. Including stealing a sex toy and trying it out with him. Did a leap of faith into a volcano and discovered some cultists there. Then I started the Lost Tales of Greece quest line. I bought cheap armor from a merchant for this guy's dad's funeral, but then the merchant sassed me so I stole the real armor from his house. Had this psycho start a fight with me over Athena sending someone to kill him. And got some tree bark for this guy who is wearing one of his "brothers" as a hat.
