Assault rifles: Saber. No competition right there, though I will admit Phaeston comes as a close second. Heavy pistols: tough choice, but I'll go with Carnifex. Maybe it's a ME2 nostalgia playing its role, but yeah... I'm sticking with Carnifex. SMGs: ugh... I hate pretty much all of them. Or not so much hate as despise. If I'd have to pick one, I'd go with Tempest. Not really one I like as much as "tolerate it the most". Sniper rifles: Widow, hands down. Yeah, BW is better in pretty much every aspect... other than class. And as certain lich said it, in a pinch, class will cut it. I don't consider myself a good player, but I can handle Widow. And that's something I'm proud of. Shotguns: Claymore. Seriously. Almost all shotties(save for Reegar) are awesome, but between them, High Lord holds a special place. Raider comes close second and I love Crusader and Katana... but Claymore is just special. Shutouts to Deerber, who introduced me to Claymore. It took some getting used to it and I may have hated the period... but I'm oh so glad that I got used to it. |

CSMG is just so good though. Because of the "infinite ammo" and 50% bonus damage to armor, right? Also, I heard the N7 Hurricane is really good too. I often see Adrenalin Rush and Marksman users with it. |

- Javelin is a close second.
- Claymore is a more distant third.
- CSMG for casters is tough to beat.
- Talon too.
- Arc Pistol.
- Raider.
- Black Widow.
- Valkyrie. Underrated gem if you have good aim.
- Incisor. Yes, really.
- Suppressor.
- N7 Valiant.
- N7 Crusader, if you install the aim delay fix.
- Phalanx.
- Graal can be fun on host.

Favorites:
Pistol - Eagle. Not the most effective, but damned close, and does lots of things well
SMG - Tempest. Hugely underrated gun, with a TSent it is game over man, game over.
Shotfun? Please, there is only one, the High Lord Claymore. The rest are pretty great too. (In all honesty, I contend that Crusader is the best gun in the game, and one of my faves... It just isn't ClayLOL)
Sniper - ehhh.... I love all of them except Incisor and Raptor. Favorite is probably Valiant (N6.2 should be afraid)
Assault Rifle - people use those? Falcon bitches.

It got a massive nerf in damage while enemy health values were bloated across the board. I believe priming combos with ammo was also made more difficult/less effective in general for Andromeda, which is something the Venom was really good at doing. |

They injected actual Venom into the Venom and gave it to Venom (Marvel) who broke the Venom and tried to repair it with more potent Venom. Too much Venom on Venom action. R.I.P Venom |

Carnifex/Paladin - offhost noscope headshots for days! I swap out depending on which one needs its points farmed next
Arc Pistol - bypasses shieldgate and is one of the few weapons I feel comfortable bringing into a gold solo until my finger locks up
Raider - popping off two quick shots and then a reload cancel makes me feel like I'm playing a rhythm game
Incisor - trolling the killfeed with this garbage makes me laugh

CSMG is just so good though. It's objectively good gun and I had some fun running it on ACA. However, the fact that it doesn't have thermal clips is a minus for me. All too often, I'll overheat it and as a result, my performance suffers. I know, I know, L2P, git gud and all that. I just don't care about SMGs as a whole, is all.
I know it's very lag/host dependend and thus gets usually not much love in listings like that here, but I like to mention the Kishock Harpoon Gun. Very fun weapon indeed. My vanilla AA loves harpooning phantoms with it. |

Because of the "infinite ammo" and 50% bonus damage to armor, right? It's a laser so cross map headshots are very easy with it; it doesn't kick and has little bloom. Ammo regen is nice too. It's fantastic on the Human Engineer or Paladin. It's objectively good gun and I had some fun running it on ACA. However, the fact that it doesn't have thermal clips is a minus for me. All too often, I'll overheat it and as a result, my performance suffers. I know, I know, L2P, git gud and all that. I just don't care about SMGs as a whole, is all.
That's why thermal clip packs are a thing. If you overheat just pop one of those and it'll start the regen right away. |
