Since I was never very good with aiming le pew pews, I enjoy weapons with unique gimmicks or close-combat guns such as shotguns. My favorites are:

- Scorpion: fantastic zoning potential and utility. I use it with most of the Power-based classes. Since I also tend to roll with the Geth Scanner (best Gear in my opinion), placing those "proximity bombs" when I see an enemy turning a corner is great way to stagger. I like using it combined with the Explosive Rounds or Cryo Rounds for maximum utility.

- Acolyte: for shutting down those pesky Phantoms and Geth Hunters from afar. I miss when you didn't have to charge it, though.

- N7 Piranha: it feels great to use, and with one of the highest DPS in the game you can shred things in seconds.

- Reegar Carbine: probably my favorite weapon in the game. I love the classic Reegar + Flamer combo. Interestingly, unlike most "energy-based" weapons, each stream actually counts as bullets, therefore you can add mods and equipment with Armor Penetration properties and it will work on the Reegar Carbine. And with that 200% bonus damage to Shields/Barriers you can have the best of both worlds (even though by default the Reegar Carbine only deals 50% damage to Armor).

My first ~~love~~ favourite weapon was the HurrDurr. Just like all first affections, it ended pretty fast. Now it's dubbed "fart gun" and is used mostly to kill Guardians on Lolcolyte kits or as a filler of power CD.
Then there were lots of affairs, long and short, serious and not, but the one and only for me now is THE JAVELIN. I sleep with this gun. This is the ultimate best weapon for me in the whole game, it's perfect in every single aspect - it keeps you safe, it kills enemies fast, it trolls Phantoms and Crabs, it sends enemies flying and keeps them at bay, which is great because I'm not a fan of things getting too close and personal, it actually requires some skill to use and punishes you hard for scrubbing, and the sound is just divine. What can be better than that.
But if I had to name some runner-ups...
ARs: Saber. I wish my aim was better to make this gun shine in my hands.
SRs: BW. Not much to say about it, it has immense damage output.
HPs: Paladin and Arc. Can't choose only one here, because both are good.
Shotguns: Raider, Claymore.
SMGs: not a fan. None here.

In terms of all around versatility and usefulness on pretty much EVERY kit the WRAITH is a clear winner.
But my favourites are the JAVELIN and the CLAYMORE. They both look, sound and feel awesome.
