I'm going to admit, I didn't have much of an interest in Liara until Lair of the Shadow Broker, then I decided to go for her when I created a Shepard based off of myself for the trilogy run. I would definitely want someone who would go through any length to bring me back to life. That's some damn dedication there.

I am a major league Liara fanboy, but I will say my opinion of ME3 dropped considerably after my first play though where I was *not* romancing her. If you are in the romance, you're amazed by all of the content Liara has, but if you are not you realize about 60% of her content is just set aside for any Shepard no matter who your LI is, and you get annoyed that your other LI (and I am thinking of Ash here) has next to nothing. ME3 does unfortunately overemphasize Liara to the detriment of other characters, and this doesn't make sense if your Shepard has been a total jerk to her since Therum.

So really ME3 should have made a lot of that Liara content romance-only, as well as expanding the characters of the other LIs. This wouldn't have pleased everyone but it would have been better to balance things out a little more.

That said, when I'm unsure of who to romance on a play through, I go for Dr. T'Soni by default.

I was just thinkin about the wife today.......

My canon Shepard romanced Liara in all three games. In my mind at least, the two were so perfect together that I couldn't romance her w/ any other Shepard.
