She always becomes Shadow Broker. By back I'm sure they meant as a LI with the relationship continuing, since she never joins the team again until ME3.

Breaking up with Miranda in ME3 leads to her death on Sanctuary.

You must have locked romance with Liara by talking with her on Presidium near the shops before meeting with Miranda in Presidium apartment. Since you finished the game I recommend that you check Mass Effect Wiki for info, so you can plan how you want to play next playthroughs.

There are some Paragon Interrupts after the fight with Vesir and after Liara reestablished the links to the Shadow Broker Agents. Be sure you don´t miss them

I love Liara more than the next person here, and I do think she is super sweet.  But Snoop really regretted rejecting her.  Since in my two playthroughs I never rejected Liara I can't say I won't react the same way if I do.

Yes, but you have to do it before the coup, I believe. You've met her dad in ME2 (not sure if you already know/want to know her name), and in ME3 you can find her at the cafe on the presidium commons.

Ok, Liara isn't my chosen LI in either playthrough but I have to give it to her how she comes out in all games either as the LI Bioware pushed for and the players who chose her (this thread) enjoy her romance or a wingmate who helped reunite Shepard with other the LI even if Bioware writers completely f--- up the way she withheld the knowledge of how we ended up working with Cerberus to A/K before TIM managed to trick the VS. Thinking about it, that could be waived as their record was made super secret by Alliance leadership and she didn't had the resources of the Shadow Broker yet to warn them of the lies but still, she could have made efforts to contact A/K after recovering Shepard body.

I usually don't mess into threads I know I might hate but decided to write this up as I feel that somethings needed to be off my chest. It would have made even more sense had A/K been on Mars escorting Liara for 3 months prior to the events and they get ordered back to Earth by Anderson and then when we see Cerberus executing the Alliance soldiers both A/K would be more justified questioning Shepard ties to Cerberus as those are people they knew rather than being soldiers with the same uniform.

I believe you can only hug her if you didn't romance in 1 (but I may be mistaken), and then once you talk to her in the Shadow Broker base, if you pick the jealous option about her drell friend she'll say something like why don't you make it official if you're jealous or something like that. I think after that you can invite her for a date in your cabin.

I am thinking of replaying the trilogy and maybe romancing Liara due to hearing you apparently don’t have to sleep with her in the trilogy? Is this true? I know in ME1 you can turn down sex since you want to focus on taking down Saren but is there any dialogue that says they still sleep together(like how Kaidan has the “you didn’t wake me up” line in ME3)? And in the ME3 romance scene what happens if you say you don’t want to?
