Well, I got to thinking about who is the most formidable protagonist from 2 RPG games. And I decided that I put 2 main characters which are the Dragonborn vs. Inquisitor to see who will win on a one to one battle. The Inquisitor wields the Mark that can seal fade rifts, and have the ability to open a rift to annihilate surrounding enemies. The Inquisitor can come with 3 classes with specializations that gives the Inquisitor an edge on the battlefield, such as Warrior class with Reaver Specialization (which is my personal favorite) that can take damage that makes him/her stronger. But the Inquisitor is limited with only one class and one specialization, which gives him/her a disadvantage when facing the Dragonborn. But the Inquisitor has power and influence over Thedas, and has an army so powerful that the Inquisitor can conquer nations across Thedas, which makes the Inquisitor feared and respected by all. The Dragonborn on the other hand is a RPG protagonist with powers of a demi god by wielding the power of the Thu'um that can decimate armies, dragons, daedra, and supernatural creatures. The Dragonborn is capable of manipulate time, can become temporarily invulnerable, and even summon storms to wipe out enemies. Also, the Dragonborn is a classless character that can master Warrior, Mage, and Rogue as skill sets, which gives him/her an advantage and versatility on the battlefield. Furthermore, the Dragonborn can raise an army of the dead from slain foes, can shape shift into a werewolf, and can summon Atronachs to fight alongside the Dragonborn at anytime. Which means the Dragonborn doesn't even need companions to defeat powerful enemies, nor an army to fight against hordes of enemies. Who do you think is the superior RPG main protagonist in combat? Who will triumph?

The Inquisitor has a personality, however limited. I'm gonna have to go with them over the big blank nothing that is the Dragonborn.

But if we're talking about power, the Dragonborn is like a demigod.

Thing is, the Dragonborn can decapitate ghosts and run people through with wooden swords.

It really depends on the context. The Inquisitor, like most Bioware protags, is best when he/she/they have their squad at their back, whereas the Dragonborn (again, like most Bethesda protags) tends to be far more powerful on a personal level, relying solely on either themself or with only one other beside them.
Individually I'd give it to the Dragonborn most days, whereas squad on squad the Inquisitor STOMPS. Especially for a rogue with Deflect and fade-touched obsidian/silverite.

My Inquisitor definitely wins personality wise and I always feel connected with them. The Dragonborn is kind of bland, but they do win combat wise. Still the Inquisitor is my favourite.

if you wanted fair/objective judgments, you would post this in other games subforum, instead of here.

Me personally, I think the Dragonborn is going to win, because he/she is too powerful for the Inquisitor, and I don't think even Flemeth can defeat the Dragonborn. And the Dragonborn can easily defeat the Inquisitor and the squad by simply shout to manipulate time, and use Fire Storm master spell to finish them off. Plus the Dragonborn can raise the army of the dead by praying to the Ritual Stone. Which means that the Dragonborn doesn't even need companions and an army to be powerful. What Dragon Age character we know have that kind of power in gameplay?

I guess the Inquisitor has a whole army to command though. The Dragonborn is at best maybe third in command to Ulfric or Tullius. I guess they've got Lydia, but she's usually too busy taking a five mile detour rather than jump up a foot high rock to provide much help.

The dragonborn, easily. But it's not really fair to compare these two due to the differences between party and non party based combat. It'd be more comparable to put the warden against the inquisitor or the dragonborn against the nerevarine.

In that case, the Dragonborn easily takes this. S/He can create lightning storms, slow time and command dragons Not the same as a Necromancer with a lightning tree sending Mythal's dragon after an enemy? But the thing is the Dragonborn can raise an army of the undead by tapping to the Ritual Stone. And the Inquisitor is bound on class and the Dragonborn is a classless character, which means he/she can gain any skill without being bound to a certain class. Even if the Inquisitor has the Necromancer specialization with Mythal's power it won't be enough to defeat the Dragonborn.

None of the lightning spells can create a literal storm. And wasn't that dragon a one time thing?

Thanks for answering, I wasn't sure because I never played as the Dragonborn. All I know is that if arguing semantics, the Inquisitor technically has done so (though I wasn't intending to say they could match them in power), they still could technically do those things. Just not to a broken point.
