New Vegas - Awesome RPG - Awesome Fallout game - Average Bethesda game New Vegas was actually made by Obsidian, not Bethesda. (Unless you were comparing it to an average Bethesda game?)

I recall quite a bit of Legion content was cut from New Vegas as originally there was much more planned out for them. Personally, I'd liked to have known more about their territory and how their own societies were outside of the invasions and military camps. Though I do know they were quite a bit of a survival of the strongest, subjugation of those they deemed lower than them, among misogynist and anti-homosexual attitudes. Though apparently their territory is actually quite safe for traders. Throughout New Vegas, if you got on the NCR's bad side you were f*cked because they were like half the map itself. Though the Legion were more much more triggered by actions against them and apt to go after you. Their assassinations parties were stronger as well. I do wonder if New Vegas is the last we'll see of the Legion. Probably not if Fallout ever gets into the hands of Obsidian again. I doubt they'd scrap the Legion, not when it has as much potential as the NCR did back in FO2. Do I expect familiar faces? Not really but we are talking a multi state spanning Empire. Hell following Hoover they could have fell back and began expansion in the other direction assuming that they declare either the Indie or NCR endings canon. Leaving New Vegas for the Courier and other factions while they seek another target. Further south perhaps if you buy into rumors.

Could have sworn New Orleans is where they've said the next Fallout would take place if they ever got the reigns again. If so that's fantastic & I'd love the atmosphere of New Orleans post-great war.
They'd probably end up avoiding the West Coast entirely to avoid canonizing any decisions made regarding the big three and independent. Which is likely why they'd pick the deep south as it's in a location completely different and untouched.

I'm of the opinion now that Bethesda games should really only be played on PC, I don't think they can produce a decent console game without crashes at least on PC you have fan patches and mods. I have had zero problems with Fallout 4 on the PS4, and from what I understand, the remastered Skyrim has had little problems on consoles as well. At the very least, there weren't as many monumental crashes as there were after I spent some time in Fallout: New Vegas for the PS3.

It's crashed a few times on my Xboner, not really enough be too annoying or noticeable but it has happened. Sometimes my character also keeps running along even after I want him to stop.

Yea for the most part it really is.
Though in Fallout 3 I'm naturally weary of any and all houses within Grayditch. Every fucking one in that town can freeze. So on new playthroughs I've grown accustomed to sneaking in real quick to find the dead body of the father and getting out ASAP

What platform are you describing? Xbox One was extremely stable. I'm talking about Fallout 3 and New Vegas for PS360, both of which I have played on console and PC and the latter is really the only satisfying way to play it unless you like playing without the DLCs and insta-crashes every 5-10 minutes. I've had like two or three freezes playing FO4 on XBONE, though I was using mods so that could easily be the culprit aside from that the older ones (FO3/Vegas) are the ones I have extreme beef with on console. Good luck getting NV to run on a PC tbh, they still haven't fixed that Nvidia issue.

Oh yessss. Those areas are eerie as hell.
Those little Lovecraft nods are some of the best things Bethesda does do for Fallout (though in terms of storytelling most everything else they do for it is crappier than Obsidian imo).

What I actually liked about Caesar's Legion (even though I've never genuinely sided with them) was that they somewhat mirrored the Romans or even Spartans in terms of "style", and striving for values and ways of life even centuries before the great war which was an interesting dynamic.
So it was a nice contrast to all the high tech and modernity of most other factions in the series (either in terms of military, tech, aesthetics, etc).
If nothing else I liked the concept of an entire faction whom instead of digging up the past of a century ago and trying to relive it and set it up in their own image, turned that on it's head went back a few millennia or so.

I never liked Fallout 3 that much. Sure is cool but the story is very simple and short. Fallout 4 is a lot better on this point and even more is New Vegas (the best one i played).
I just wished that bethesda didn't spent so much time with settlement dlc which were pretty much reused assets and instead made more content like Far Harbor. And that last DLC was a disappointment, you either played along as a scumbag raider or the story would end in less than 2 hours, and there is no changes in the park if you rid it from the gangs, everything stays empty...

Here's what really disappointed me. Half the DLC were Wasteland Workshops AKA Bob the Builder workshops.
Settlement building and the likes fall right into the realm of modded content. Although Bethesda's resources and manpower are quite great in their own right it's already possible for modders to replicate a good chunk of the content we saw in Bob the Builder workshops.
You know what modders don't have access to?
Decent voice acting, sound engineers, or a decent microphone that doesn't sound like shit. I'd have rather have seen more story into Fallout universe instead of all the window dressing.

The problem is Bethesda went from one extreme to the other in Fallout 4. Within the main story you can't really be truly "evil". In Nuka-World you can't be good unless you literally kill off the entire DLC pretty much.

I tried a few that I found online but none of them seemed to make any difference. FO3 is one of my favorite games, but I don't want to go buy another computer just to play it. Though maybe getting a used gaming-friendly Win8 system would be worth it in the long run in case these issues pop up with other older games.

I started like 6 or 7 other characters but got bored within the first 5-10% of the game or so and just stopped. So far I have two main play throughs. One where I was the mom and sided with The Railroad and the other the dad who went with BoS.
None of the factions really made any sense in terms of character when it came to siding with any of those raiders groups(after going through the main story and all the Nuka World DLC really came off as a fuck you to the main story and literally everything else where suddenly your player character changed personalities massively and become evil), but I did it anyways with my BoS character just to see the content.

The only work-around I've heard of is installing the "Tale of Two Wastelands" mod, because it makes FO3 run on the NV engine, which is far more stable and accessible with W10.
