Rondeeno's mods are god sent! I could not thank them enough when I talked to them on our Discord channel. I just want to add that the mod also restores some f/f content as well. I want to try Thane romance some day even it ends in a sad way but yeah not romancing Kaidan through ME 1-2-3 will be difficult, especially now that I don't have to use console commands to get m/m content in ME1 and that I won't get misgendered anymore. 

While I love these mods, I hope that there will no need for them for future Bioware games. Just give us some equal and quality romances, Bioware!

yeah! the mods fix a lot of things!! sadly it does not take away the forced heteronormativity that the first two games have, just did Illium and I didnt remember Shiala pretty much has a crush on you and Shep smiles when she says both could have something? LIKE I'M GAY Casey Hudson wtf (I'm totally scared about him being lead-whatever again *disgusted noise*). ME2 is a game that is painful to roleplay...

In other news, I just recruited Thane and I'm gonna flirt the hellp out of him I hope I dont screw Kaidan romance lol does anybody know when are you locked in with him?????   I'l probably take one flirt and that's it dunno

I was just thinking about this, and here is the real problem I have with Shiala. I mean, yes, I, too, play my Shepard as gay, but I don't always play my characters as gay, and I, personally, think girls are cute/sexy and do not mind flirting, so... what, I ask myself, is it about this scene that creeps me the fuck out so much.

And I think a big part of it is the massive assumption on the part of the writers. One, writers assume, because I am playing a male character, that I am a straight man. Two, writers assume that because I am a straight man, I would be eager to have sex with a pretty woman I don't really know at ALL just because she propositions me. And three, Shiala is given NO REAL characterization here other than "hot woman who suddenly wants to sleep with you," which is a massive problem throughout the trilogy. Women, especially asari (who are not even supposed to be "women") are written as walking sex dolls to cater to the hypothetical perpetually randy straight male player. It's an insult to everyone involved, including the player, regardless of sex, gender identity, and sexuality.

I just... I hate it. It's like a 12 year old horny boy wrote it, hell, wrote all of ME2, really. Mass Effect writing does seem to have evolved from that SOMEWHAT, but of course we still have the scene like the Peebee intro scene in MEA, which took a concerted effort from fans for them to change it. The Peebee scene is 100% the same as the scene described above and is, again, an insult to all parties.
