I like Gaider's characters, it's unfortunate he is personally such a jerk. I haven't seen anything reasonable or even handed about his responses with anyone. But it's very possible that only his worst statements get quoted... except that I think the Twitter Thread doesn't screen "jerk vs non jerk" comments so my benefit of the doubt has some holes in it.
I don't know what a woman led game is.

If Zevran was gay it got cut super ridiculously early on. Banter with all the women and dialogue about the girlfriend he (mental toxicly murdered) point very much to a Zevran that was into women from the moment dialogue lines were recorded. Gaider got his Dorian. moooooooooooooving on. I care more about what is going to happen than debating what we didn't have/could have had in the past. Me wanting a gay elf NOW is because I didn't get one back THEN. Though thankfully Gaider can't put his personal life and struggles into a gay elf so that's cool. Unless they are going with some kind of HIV/AIDS storyline for the next gay companion I---

Well, technically, straight players never got a perfect KISA either: #NotTodaySatanNotToday Cute .
Actually, I DO like most of those characters (except Seb, he's as interesting as pea soup) for the different character and trope twists they explore. My *actual* point was that the notion of character who always has been and always will be a paragon of honor and virtue, regardless of history or context, has never existed in Dragon Age.
You want a Gay Knight in Shining Armor in DA4? Great, what flaws does he posses to overcome, or not? If he supports reform, is it mostly because a less Magister controlled Tevinter would allow his own star to rise? Does he seek personal glory and titles? Is he a sqib that wants show his mage relatives he's not completely worthless? If he wants change right now, how desperate is he to get his hands dirty, and how bloody? If he supports slow reform, is he a wishy-washy coward, or oblivious? If he supports the status quo, is it's because he's an asshole, and/or he guinely believes such change is dangerously niave with the Qunari bearing down on them? Could he support Magisters using blood magic if he's a Reaver? Does he turn a blind eye to corruption because he genuinely feels he has to, in order to be in a position to do even a little good for the commoners, as opposed to taking a stand and risk being discredited and removed or assassinated? Would any of this be too much, "soiling" the Knight you want?

Unless they are going with some kind of HIV/AIDS storyline for the next gay companion I--- I'm fine with a world with a lack of STDs, Anders/Isabella banter aside. That's the sort of realism I'm not into. Wonder if red lyrium is catching. It spreads so easily through Thedas, if you had sex with Samson, a Red Templar, are you "safe" ?

The only thing that baffled me is that seemed to be inviting a hostile workplace lawsuit. Maybe Canada is different on that score. You mean firing him would be grounds for a lawsuit in his favor? I never heard of that. No. I meant not firing him made them more liable. If a company is made aware a lead is outright hostile towards people based on their race and he is in an authority position over the targeted group that group could potentially sue. Them not firing him imo increased the likelihood of issues. Like literally one wrong statement at work and he’s already given them piles of evidence via tweets and there is piles of evidence they were made aware of his overt hostility. He could protest all he wants that it doesn’t enter the workplace but with those tweets would a jury believe him? In themselves it’s probably not enough even though some were violent, but it basically gives you zero outs if anything comes up at work.

Those were exactly the two reasons why I don't think it's super realistic. LOL. I really don't want enough bisexual (or gay) elf guy. We've had 5 romances in the series. Two elves, two humans, and a qunari. I want, nay, NEED a dwarf. And if either human or elf needs to 'pull ahead' in our options here, I'd rather it go to humans. I'm just over elves. Although I wouldn't be mad if the elf was a rugged Dalish hunter. But other than that, I'd take pretty much any character other than an elf as one of my choices. I just want revenge for Bioware denying David Gaider the chance to make Zevran a gay male elf. I also want revenge for Solas being cut as bisexual because '' don't want to stereotype bisexuals as evil '' or whatever. I want all the gay male elf energy that has been festering inside Bioware headquarters to finally manifest into the real deal. I also think elves are going to be important in DA4, whether it's because Solas or slave rebellion. Things are happening, anyway. Please take sexy egg concept and make it into a gay elf please. An actual gay elf, or a burly Bara who simply happens to have pointed ears ?

I mean, we see people being called racists and nazis for less. We see people being called sexist albeit indirect for disagreeing slightly with someone. (The whole Jessica Price debacle) frankly, it just gave Arenanet even more good PR. But really, I should try and stop getting sucked into these kinds of discussions because we are basically hijacking the thread We are here to talk about romancables we want!

This topic is still going after like two years? Omg. I think the concept of a Knight in Shining Armor changes depending on which person you ask. For me, I think I want the romance to have kind of '' KISA '' traits, rather than the character itself. In the end, a KISA... whose Knight is he really? If I'm a piece of shit who supports slavery and the status quo, and putting mages in cages, is a KiSA who thinks completely differently from me a KiSA in the end? He is certainly not my knight, no no. I want a m/m romance with a guy who is masculine and dominant, and potentially gentlemanly and romantic. I want to be courted, as a man, by a man. I think those are the only traits I'm personally looking for, fuck righteousness and being a knight for the downtrodden. Who cares?

I'm not personally a huge fan of the Lawful Good KISA archetype (my faves are usually either fun and rogueish [Sera, Isabela, Zevran] or darkly cynical [Morrigan, Fenris, Sten] or both), but I do think we really reeeaally need that considering such characters are almost always straight for some reason. A classic chivalric romance with a character who's less Batman and more Superman. I want to be courted, as a man, by a man. Not to hijack your point but I'm reminded of how the PC is almost always the one to pursue ( especially for f/f relationships but this goes for others too). Just speaking for the f/f side of things the only female character that's "chased" a female PC has sort of been Sera, and even then only if you play a qunari, and you still have to win her over. Isabela does the whole runs-from-love routine, and Leliana, Merrill, and Josephine are very demure in a relationship soooo... none of them try to court you, and that'd be nice.

But yes, more instances where the LI makes a move would be great. Like Zevran inviting the Warden for a massage and giving them an earring as a meaningful gift, or Morrigan doing the same but with her magic tracker ring thing.

I feel like I want to support this Sera theory because when you look at it, f/f got shafted in DA:I in terms of lore relevancy and potential characters that'll come back in DA4. Gay men have Dorian, straight men have Cassandra, straight women have Solas, lesbians have nothing. A shame.
