It's mostly about some posts by PT regulars in the About Moderation thread complaining about twinks and furries being talked about over here, but I don't want to get banned on my first day back, so I'll leave it at that. lol

I did not see a desire demon in DA:I

Whereas they were in both DA:O and DA2.



It is a whole discussion which people have already had before, I am sure.

But it started in DA:I, were also in MEA, and continued with John Epler's twitter reply to a: "Do not bring your politics into the game"

It may have doomed DA4 before it was even started... I certainly hope not, I want to see a conclusion to Solas' story!

But I believe a large part would, by far, prefer humans and elves.

Qunari may actually be the next best thing and dwarves the last.

Scout Harding seemed popular though, but that may be due to her overall character rather than her race.

Yup! I guess I'm just wondering about the numbers. Like, if DA4 gave us a super hot qunari and a super hot dwarf, but no elves or humans, would we get a LOT of vocally disappointed people or only some? And that goes for all orientations really.


I think you're probably right, but judging from the amount of guys who liked Harding, Dagna, Sigrun, etc. I'm guessing there's at least an audience out there... just dunno how big it is.


His dwarf comment was out-of-context anyway. I do think there's a fair number who'd be interested in a dwarf or qunari, but I imagine at least one of the LIs for every orientation will be a human or elf. At least that's been the pattern.

Well, I said all orientations. There are gay guys and lesbians and straight women who prefer smooching humans and elves, too.

DA2 got tons of backlash for Merrill and Isabela, both for their looks and personalities. It's kind of a staple in this fandom.

Imshael is a desire demon, though he hates that label.

I imagine most other desire demons were smart enough to stay faaaaar away from the rifts. They’re relatively high on the power scale, they can probably manage it. In a time of such upheaval, rage, terror, and fear demons had a field day, compassion spirits got too close and flipped over to despair, pride demons wanted to say hi to Solas, and various minor shades were too weak to stay away from the rifts.

But the desire demons? They had little to gain and a lot to lose from risking the rifts to target scared, stressed-out people. So they skedaddled.

I would bet cold hard cash that Tevinter will have plenty of desire demons. That’s got to be their best hunting ground.
