From my work experience, that's 80% of software developer's natural state.

It must be mostly inertia, because everyone becomes very animated whenever a coffee machine breaks.

John Epler @eplerjc We're moving offices in a week. I've been in this same building for 12 years now, I am 100% going to drive to the wrong building multiple times.

To any CS students lurking on BSN:
1. Don’t make big code reviews. 2. If you can’t avoid a big changeset, add pull-request comments under every single change, no matter how obvious they are. Reading code outside of an IDE is hard, so even smart teammates will have trouble interpreting simple changes. 3. Make pull-request comments that include links between related diffs. Moved code from file A to file B? Put a link from file A to file B, and vice versa. Added a file with unit tests? Add a link to the unit tests, and link back to the class from the unit tests. Many code review tools use markdown, so links are square brackets followed by parentheses. 4. Explicitly assign different parts of the review to different reviewers, rather than leaving it ambiguous. If you leave it ambiguous, everyone will feel obligated to read and understand the entire changeset... and no one has time for that shit. That’s a great recipe for a pull request that lingers for days with no feedback or approvals.
And also, as the later tweets allude to, never ever ever merge on a Friday evening. Your code will be cursed for a thousand years. That devious fiend Jenkins, the Smirking Butler, Harbinger of Edge Cases, will poison your food and sow bugs in every corner. The sun will pass into shadow and your team will raise great lamentations to the heavens and/or make you fix the unit tests.

Chris Anderson @postmodernlocke I've had to downsize on previous desk moves, but I'm still looking forward to seeing what I can pull off with our new desks!
John Epler @eplerjc Last week in old office. Four more days there and then we’re downtown. Mixed feelings. Looking forward to being able to take a bus/bike.

You'll probably see a bunch of these this week as people say goodbye to 12 years (I think?) at the same location. I, on the other hand, can't wait to say 'bye, felicia' and move downtown.
Could it be because I live downtown and my commute is now a third the length? Could it be because our new building is much nicer? Could it be because I'm pragmatic and don't hold much sentimentality for a building? Yes. Those things.
Cori Nicole @genevrael My new beloveds. ladyiolanthe is amazing.
Wow, I'm actually kinda jelly. Nice work ladyiolanthe !
Thanks! I got tired of wating for Sanshee to make licensed Solas and Dread Wolf plushies, so I had to make my own. I adapted patterns by CholyKnight on Etsy to make them.
(WHY hasn't Sanshee made Solas and Dread Wolf plushies? Seems like a lost revenue opportunity to me. And I did suggest it to them a couple of times over the past 5 years, too, before giving up and making my own! *shrug* )

Wow! I’m highly impressed! Especially by your neat stitching! It’s so freakin...precise is it completely hand done?
I’m crossing my fingers that we’ll get some plush models out of the upcoming game.
I want a stuffed griffon so badly. I tried my hand at making my own but only got as far as the head before my daughter confiscated it. It now is used as a finger puppet *shrugg & sigh*

The buttonhole stitch on the appliqués is all hand-done, but I sewed the bodies and Solas' clothes on my sewing machine.

I bought one of the nuggalopes when the Bioware store was closing down. Glad I got it for cheap because it wasn't nearly as soft or squishy as I was expecting/hoping it would be.

Oh dang! I’m surprised.
I ended up with 2 of the Mabari plushies as Christmas gifts. They are nice quality with a soft outside and sturdy inside. My daughter claimed one of them and it’s held up really well. That sale was amazing. I managed to grab an inquisitor hoodie, a Morrigan statue (which I never realized was a huge as it is until the box showed up at my door), and a solas necklace. I’m ready for new merch to add to my collection.
