Would be great if they can reduce importance of those mechanics if some way. Otherwise probably will play on easiest difficulty. I kind of enjoyed Hogwarts Legacy even with these mechanics but my hands sometimes would ache after playing a while. I absolutely loath parry, so yeah will likely be the first time since I was a completely new player since I played on storymode. Parry can be a bit to get used to in games. Normally my default has been to just dodge roll around the battlefield in these games but have been incorporating it more into my games lately, especially with legacy had a great parry system. Though if my judgement was right and we aren't getting 'red of dodge green of parry'. I suspect my Rook will be doing a lot of dodge rolling around the battlefield...which is good since he'll be a rogue.

OK so took a gander in the news thread and lots of good here. No Keep functionality its been discussed so not too much of a surprise but kind of a surprise that it happened. Ugh. biggest down.
Biggest up though is that we have body sliders. Even if they are fairly basic like TORs still a step in the right direction and the CC already sounds good.
Interesting to do the different voice actor thing again...

For what it’s worth. Someone somewhere (I think I heard it in the Jackdaw stream) mentioned being able to customize the parry/dodge/whatever mechanic if you are not that used to this sort of game. However, I do not know to what extent. Found it in the Eurogamer article.

Yeah, I get that they destroyed a chunk of narrow scaffolding- but I still did find it a bit silly that a couple of pushes on the remaining bit caused the whole of a giant ass statue to give way. But whatever, it looked cool. Anyone know yet if we're still going to be required to use Origin to play DA:V on PC? I would prefer Steam personally... as always. Origin is no longer supported. You will have to download EA Play. I find it less stable than Origins and meh. Even if you buy it on Steam, very likely you'll still need the EA App to actually run the game. And because of that, integration between the 2 will probably be so jank you'd be better off getting it directly on the EA App, even if it barely works half the time. ^Ouff. From bad to worse. I know the disruption and any resulting chaos is technically Rook & company's fault, now. But I'm not convinced it wouldn't have happened anyway. I feel like wooden timbers aren't exactly lauded for their ability to withstand hurricane force magical storms. Riiight?! And who even was around and had the time to put up weak scaffolding around hidden and ancient ruins in the first place?

Some people aren't a fan of the (red lyrium-ized) Ogre shown in the party/wheel screenshot, while I'm wondering if he just went to a Ghilain'nan spa for some beautification. Wait, that's supposed to be an ogre? Did it shrink in Ghilain'nain's briny pools? Then again, the Pride demon also seems to have undergone some shrinkage.

Just read the Eurogamer article and again CC sounds good.
Another big interest is looks like I got my wish afterall and each class will have unique ranged and melee options but they did mention that the warriors is...chucking their shield at the enemy? Bold choice but will that work if you want to specialize as a two hander? So another potential concern.
Seems like the strategic combat with companions could actually be strategic though.

Not procedurally generated? Not AI? And mission-based means there won't be side quests like carrying groceries for an old lady when the impending doom of Thedas waits?

Maybe the Eurogamer article was slightly off...but I do wonder what this means in terms of the options between them. I guess another slight dissapointment is it looks like its the typical DA weapon set up, can't be too surprised by that of course but was really hoping with other games doing it we'd see more weapon variety. Oh well.

Isn't the resource for that "have arm+have shield"? I understand building a resource for flashy or magical/pseudo-magical or even united attacks (the Focus abilities in DAI were great) but... a shield throw? Sounds a bit underwhelming. ▪️Quests are more handcrafted and mission based, curated with alternate paths, secrets to discover and optional content I'm not sure what handcrafted means in this context. Sounds like Mass Effect where you don't actually explore outside of a few areas like the Citadel and Omega to organically come across quests. You do everything from your hub, leave on missions that are self contained and come back once you're done, rinse and repeat. Would love clarification on this.
