Personally it gives me more Temple of Mythal feeling. I thin the appropriate nomenclature is "ancient Elvenhan ruins" True, true. It just reminds me of Temple of Mythal more than other ruins we've seen because of all that ivy. I have way too many pictures of foliage in that place

If not - we saw 20 mins of gameplay from the 1st hour of the game, I think? So who knows what happens during that 40 mins we didn't yet see. They did say they edited it so not too many spoilers. That could include encountering the Inquisitor and an explanation where they have gone. There were a few moments around when we see Solas that I thought, "Now would be an amazing time for the Inquisitor to show up and say a piece, or explain their whereabouts" but of course that would qualify as something BioWare would want to keep saved for release. I can't help but admit I'm stoked to see my Inky. Since there's a whole CC related to our individual Inquisitors, it really does sound like he/she will show their faces in-game as opposed to answering generic questions about what the Inquisitor did in the past.

Hard to grasp without the original posters context. They could be asking if each class only has three abilities. Or, they could be asking if we're only allowed three abilities at a time. If the latter, Mike is giving the wrong response. Like, does it really matter if we have "tons" if we are locked into them at any given time? It's still going to feel limited in the actual combat, and who has the patience to switch them out regularly? I know I barely used the profiles in MEA because I didn't like that system, and that's still less cumbersome. The only good part about this new combat system for me is that we are not unlikely to get the radial menu back in ME...

I’m not sure what this means… Hard to grasp without the original posters context. They could be asking if each class only has three abilities. Or, they could be asking if we're only allowed three abilities at a time. If the latter, Mike is giving the wrong response. I paused the vid. I think you get more than 3 but like ME you have to activate them before a fight. In Andromeda I recall scouting enemies where I could and sizing them up for what abilities would take them down better.

Some people aren't a fan of the (red lyrium-ized) Ogre shown in the party/wheel screenshot, while I'm wondering if he just went to a Ghilain'nan spa for some beautification. Wait, that's supposed to be an ogre? Did it shrink in Ghilain'nain's briny pools? Then again, the Pride demon also seems to have undergone some shrinkage. Pride demons aren't bothering creating legs or a full torso this time around...didn't work for them in 3 games I guess.
They have increased mobility as a result...

▪️Quests are more handcrafted and mission based, curated with alternate paths, secrets to discover and optional content I wonder if this means like Mass Effect, very linear, or like DA Origin and 2, clear paths and objectives but quite open still. I really hope for the latter but I imagine it's the former.

▪️Combat is focused on real-time action, dodge, parry, counter, "sophisticated animation canceling and branching", using risk-reward charge attacks designed to break enemy armor layers Looks like I'm out again then. Too action-y for me. It definitely sounds like Soulslike combat. I hope there's a Story difficulty setting. I'm too old to have good reflexes for parry-block-thrust action fighting.

Do I get slow motion and the Avengers theme when I toss my shield?
Not fond of that elemental weaknesses and resistances stuff. Sure, when it makes sense (a fire creature should be near immune to fire and weak to water/ice and some such) but if every Tom, Dick and Harry has some elemental resistance that I have to work around it will get tedious.
Also I will definitely wait until I see the PC port. It's always been treated like the red headed step child. Get Nixxes or someone else who knows what they're doing.

It only left you completley exposed if you...weren't playing the game right? Like for me there is such a thing as cover, movement, and also strategically setting up and utilizing your profiles in such a way where you don't have to switch them out in the middle of a fight. The only time I really felt 'completley exposed' was when I accidentally had to switch up in the middle of a fight, or it wasn't quite working for me and had to run away from a Fiend for a bit and...either died or almost died. But that was more my oopsie. That being said we don't know if things might've changed or not in terms of what you have mentioned. I didn't mind it TOO much and understood all their reasonings behind doing so but the aforementioned Hogwarts Legacy had no cool down time when you had to switch and its possible such things have been brought over here. Gotta admit, it's been a while since I've gotten an old-fashioned "git gud" response from here. Honestly, Lakus, I get you. I do wish you PC guys and girls got a hotbar for all your abilities to be used whenever you want. It's a nice accessibility option.

Yeah, I get that they destroyed a chunk of narrow scaffolding- but I still did find it a bit silly that a couple of pushes on the remaining bit caused the whole of a giant ass statue to give way. But whatever, it looked cool. Anyone know yet if we're still going to be required to use Origin to play DA:V on PC? I would prefer Steam personally... as always. I know the disruption and any resulting chaos is technically Rook & company's fault, now. But I'm not convinced it wouldn't have happened anyway. I feel like wooden timbers aren't exactly lauded for their ability to withstand hurricane force magical storms. We doesn't make any chaos. Solas put everything on place again and all look like before. He start to open the veil before the statues fall.

▪️Classes also have unique 'resource system's, for example, the Rogue has "momentum", which builds up as you land consecutive hits, and each will always have a ranged option ▪️Another momentum attack for the Warrior lets you lob your shield at enemies You need to build a resource to... lob your shield at enemies? Isn't the resource for that "have arm+have shield"? I understand building a resource for flashy or magical/pseudo-magical or even united attacks (the Focus abilities in DAI were great) but... a shield throw? Sounds a bit underwhelming. Momentum was in DA2 for dagger Rogues (I suspect the article is wrong about the Warrior resource being called that as well) which explain why the rogue dual-dagger combat looks more like DA2.
What is mostly do is add a more powerful attack every X hits of the basic attack. So the shield throwing might be that attack for Warrior for their version of it.

Maybe we're just talking past each other here. I think there are people wanting to have more abilities to use during combat, without having the predefined 3. Which, at least for PC folks, should honestly be the case. Heck, even for us console players, we're now being scaled back from 8 to 3, which kinda sucks. I can probably live with it, but sometimes having more options is worthwhile.

By mid game you should have a good idea of what works best against different foes.

Based on the animations and some of the things they've said I believe me theory of us getting abilities based on button combinations is indeed also going to be a thing.
