The skill trees are intimidating. Do we know hoje many skill points per level and if leveling is the only way to get them? 1 Skill Point / Lvl + Bonus SPs through the game. I don't think we know how many we get at Lvl 1 though.

Now I wonder what kind of jump attacks Mage gets. And the spec are all tied to a faction going by the icon beside them:
Warrior: Champion = Warden, Slayer = Lord of Fortune, Reaper = Mourn Watch Mage: Death Caller = Mourn Watch, Evoker = Shadow Dragon, Spellblade = Crows Rogue: Duelist = Crows, Saboteur = LoF, Veil Ranger = Veil Jumper and Wall of Fire doesn't appear to have a resource cost, just a long CD. Interesting.
Makes sense. But I have to imagine (even though they said we pick our spec at the beginning of the game) that choosing a Faction doesn't lock you into a specific Specialization. They said every class has 3 specialisations. Don't the specialisation titles suggest these are faction related? (Unless I'm missing something). I really wanted to be a mage veil jumper. Hmm.

They didn't say anything about specialisations being faction locked. I doubt that they will be because it's very limiting.

I'm hoping we still get some kind of sword or other cool weapon than a staff/daggers with the spec. I'm sure there will be some Knight-Enchanter / Arcane Warrior moves in there. KE was such a fan favorite, they wouldn't leave it out! Plus, if I got the "magic daggers" part right, it could be anything else (a bow, a sword...) that you choose to slot. Not necessarily daggers. I mean, I think so...?

DAO did have class-limiting origins so I was worried this was a similar idea.

I read that the same way. The writer made it sound like the mage actually equipped a pair of daggers. I am super excited if this is accurate. I wonder if my Duelist could use a shield?

Ok, maybe i'm just stupid but it still doesn't explain some circles and diamonds being spiky. And now that i think about it spiky circles are in between small and medium circles size wise. Spikiness might correspond to abilities that have tiers to them. Four diamonds = four levels of ability. Good point! And this is why i feel that Bioware should just release mid game gameplay video and explain everything. We should be theorizing about story, companions and lore and not about combat.

Though now that I think about it I think it was mentioned but I don't think as seriously with Solas being trapped in the Fade but honestly while in some ways it does not sound like the right choice in the end it explains so much about what is going on in the world and addresses a few plot holes.
