I'm not sure if anyone has said this already (I'm not caught up on the conversation) but concerning the game informer article... They say Solas will be trapped in the Fade... is there a chance Varric will be trapped there with him?

BW also alluded to our being able to change and revisit the locations in the game. So cleaning up the Red Lyrium feels like a good place to start. That is true. Red lyrium is a big problem but then so is the blight generally. I wonder if the magic dagger may be what allows us to kill the bad guys or at least reduce them in power to a wisp as happened with Mythal. I've always suspected the idol had something to do with her death, although it has always puzzled me that if the item was that important Solas didn't recover it much sooner. After all, if all he needed was that dagger to bring down the Veil, he needn't have give his orb to Corypheus at all. Still, perhaps he only learned about it chatting to Varric, or at least where it might possibly be found. I've been rewatching the gameplay video in the light of more recent information and now I'm really curious what happens to the dagger. He still has it in his hand when he is trying to hold back the statue with his magic but after he pushes the statue away and it crashes to the ground, he no longer has the dagger in his hand, so it would seem he accidentally sent the dagger flying with the statue. Then there is something with a green glow at the bottom of the stairs, which I assume is the dagger. Solas is definitely without the dagger when he turns to face the other two gods. Rook is also at the bottom of the stairs so perhaps either it nicked him on the way down or just being in proximity to it is what makes the connection with the Fade.

If Solas' dagger was forged from the Red Lyrium Idol, it looks like he cleansed it of the Blight. Theoretically it was always possible because Merrill cleansed her eluvian of the blight and it is likely that eluvians like the idol are infused with lyrium, so that may have something to do with it. Also, the Core Rule Book said that the Dalish knew how to delay the onset of symptoms of the blight, as Marethari did with Mahariel, so perhaps that was based on incomplete knowledge from ancient lore that the demon gave Merrill the missing pieces to. If so, I wonder if actually has the power to cleanse the Red Lyrium Blight (perhaps at some central node) in the places we go. It has to be important in some way since they have featured it in the marketing. However, I think that is likely to be something much later in the game rather than just cleansing node points as we go round. That bottom beating heart looks to me like it is actually in the Black City or the Black City is a mirror image of a location deep underground. If you do the Dalish origin in DAO, when we look into the eluvian we can see a dark city with some strange entity within it. Yet it cannot have been the Black City in the Fade because it was linked to the underground city we were in and darkspawn were coming out of the eluvian, presumably from the place we could see. Then that is the eluvian that became Merrill's in DA2. I would love that if we do cleanse the idol or something, if Merrill is alive she is the one that helps us with it.

I see someone's been taking styling tips from the original Archdemon design. 🪮 While dragons are never a bad way to go, I wish DA had been able to go with that design for the ADs.

There are statues in DAO looking like it. But those statues are also said to be of the Elven gods. And the headdress looks like one of the Evanuris too.

It’s concept art of what the arch demon was supposed to look like in DAO. They used a dragon instead due to engine limitations, I believe.

I really need to see the CC so I can decide what wild hair colour to give my Qunari. I was leaning toward purple to match the game's colour, but maybe green like the Fade since she's a Mage and a Veil Jumper? Don't want to go pink since she's probably romancing Harding and I don't want to clash.

Could be that the weapon has a flaming property (because we have heard of a Frost Staff), but the warrior has abilities tied to (or synergizes with) elemental damage.

corinne_at_last I love the “constellations” that are created in the Skill Tree as you progress. It’s a fun visualization of your journey as you grow in power. We had one player that insisted on complete symmetry in their constellation. It wasn’t the most min/maxed build but it worked surprisingly well 😅

I assume other abilities that we've learned of can be modified or improved similarly. Maybe you can pick up an improvement to Captain America toss your shield and have it bounce off several enemies.

The shield is the Warrior "ranged weapon" and devs confirmed we could make a build that focus on it. The real question is how you throw the Tower Shield variant or if it's limited to the round shields.
As for the "flaming weapon". It could be a Warrior ability of some sort or gear related.

I imagine the shield toss will be done similarly to a frisbee toss so it won't really matter what it looks like. That's how most games handle it at least....except WoW I guess which is basically just a glowing kite shield lol.
