IMO it's very possible none of the elves working for Solas got anywhere near him, ever. He can contact them and leave instructions via dreams after all - and he is the 'lone wolf' type, who stays away from everyone. But as for ever getting anywhere his ritual, or rather the ritual site... well, someone has to raise that scaffolding that kept the statues upright and Rook so diligently destroyed, and somehow I can't see Solas doing all that work alone Just a variant of the mage "fix the broken bridge with a button press" from DAI o rthe Harry Potter repairo spell.

I'm not sure if anyone has said this already (I'm not caught up on the conversation) but concerning the game informer article... They say Solas will be trapped in the Fade... is there a chance Varric will be trapped there with him? It's possibl ebut we don' tofficiall ykno wwha thappends to Varric some hav especulated he's dead but I don't think they would kill off such a beloved character tbh. A tleas tno tlike that .The onl y thing we do kno wis tha th edoesn't have Bianca anymore thanks to Solas. It’s concept art of what the arch demon was supposed to look like in DAO. They used a dragon instead due to engine limitations, I believe. I thought the story was that they were merrily near to completing the story and someone said: "Er, this is the Dragon Age so where are the dragons?" Just one measily dragon near Haven wasn't really going to suffice, so then they thought "Why don't we make the Old Gods into dragons? Then the final boss will be a big dragon." It makes more sense than engine limitations. What was so difficult about doing just another type of demon? Surely animating a giant dragon that flies and lands before directing its elemental or spirit damage at you is way more difficult.

Could be that the weapon has a flaming property (because we have heard of a Frost Staff), but the warrior has abilities tied to (or synergizes with) elemental damage. Could this be connected in some way to the elemental abilities that Armund had in DAMP? He couldn't do fire damage but did have cold and electricity, so I imagine it might be the same sort of mechanics.

(that's where Rook-planning at 2am gets me) They can assist the mages as needed, deal with tomb raiders, do any work that don't require magic outside of the Grand Necropolis for the Mourn Watchers. Probably get turned into undead servants when they die too, since the necropolis do have undead guards (with the Mourn Watch stamp on them)...

According to Down Among the Dead Men in Tevinter Nights, among their various duties is attending funerals just in case the spirit that comes over to occupy the body isn't so friendly. That's what happened to the guard Auric. He had been trying to swap his guard duties to avoid attending a funeral because of the risks involved but in the end he couldn't avoid it. Also, I imagine that they may act as bodyguards to high level Mortalitassi and just generally keep watch around the place, keep out Grave Robbers, report any strange occurrences, that sort of thing. I imagine the guarding against Grave Robbers it pretty important because the tombs of nobility are often very opulent and almost like their residences before they died. Also, if any possessed body goes rogue they would be authorised to do whatever was necessary to stop it. Usually they aren't skeletons but mummified remains, so would probably look more like Justice did in DAA. Perhaps the skeletons are the bodies of poor people who can't afford the elaborate funeral rites of the rich.

(that's where Rook-planning at 2am gets me) I'm thinking warrior and rouges will be written as members of some sort of auxiliary formation within the Mourn Watch. They'll probably be like the Templars as they sound similar to me with what the wiki says of them. "They also deal with magic that has gone awry" I imagine they can deal with rogue skeletons and such. The mages can be called in when things go really bad.
It makes sense to have basic guard duty or more administrative tasks performed by nonmages as that frees the mages to do more import work in the Grand Necropolis.

I swear man. I went on YouTube to see peoples opinions of the Reveal + Gameplay trailers, and everyone is so hyperbolic in one way or the other. While I know this doesn't reach the broader populace, I can't help but feel so out of the loop with the positivity/negativity spirals that exist in today's media.
Even for games I don't like, I don't ever feel the need to just languish on it. I just move on. But then I see opinions from some people who know they will never play the game, but feel like they need to inject themselves as if they had just played it. There's plenty of objective/subjective criticism to be had of the recent trailers, as well as BioWare's direction with the series as a whole... But I can't imagine talking shit so heavily about something that I literally tell others I'm not going to play, for a game that hasn't even released yet.

The issue is I think in large part society and how social media and the actual media has been designed...it encourages people to just spout opinions very quickly because you have to be first and you have to get it out there and you have to be right about things so its like things can just get out there very quickly because you can't really have any encoruagement to wait. Like I know for the trailer I woke up the day of and it was like 'omg its so horrible this is so fortnite and so purple and so this and that' and I was like 'oh no.' Even looked at a few screen grabs and it looked like people had a point, but then when I watched it I liked it...a lot...but still my opinion was going to be contingent on other factors. And knowing that these things aren't always indicitive. And you are right there is certainly something to be said and people do also tend to have very heavy opinions despite not seeing or watching things or caring. Like if I don't care I'll complain, criticize every now and then but mostly move on.
