Trick Weekes @trickweekes.bsky.socialI got through some of the trickier fights, but boy howdy I hope nobody in combat ever has to watch the videos of how I did it. We all know how the DA2 Arishok fight usually goes...

I always felt the Cullen Romance was very caring. Actively worrying, praying about Inky, giving you lucky charms. And the extra spontaneous hugs when Inky clearly was upset. In this way, the Advisor romance was the best of the 4 I tried (Blackwall, Solas', Cassandra were the others). The Cullen route was overall cute.
My Trevelyan Inky kinda summed up her Blackwall romance with "I sure know how to pick em..." in the Val Royeaux prison.
The Solas romance was full of red flags, which was a nice touch.
Cass was probably the most entertaining and also the most bittersweet if she becomes a Divine.
I'd recommend trying Sera at some point. Her route is pretty cute. More similar to Cullen and not the awkward cute of Cassandra.

Aah yes, Cullen the Whiner from DAO. He stays that way forever in my mind and can't see him as anything else. Cassandra's romance was a letdown.... shallow, imo, though her love for poetry was cute and totally opposite of her "warrior" persona (in my eyes anyway). Can't see her as the Divine nor Leliana for that matter. Surely there are other better suited candidates for the position?

So I've been reading Tevinter Nights to prep myself for the game and I finished "Half Up Front" last night and it reminded me that Solas has gathered an army of sympathetic Elves to his cause.
The one you encounter in "Half Up Front" is a genuinely nasty piece of work. It left me wondering, especially since John Epler wrote the story, how The Veilguard is handling Solas's little army of would-be terrorists and nasties? If we get help from Solas in the fade do we have to work with his creep army too? Just wondering how BioWare intends to handle that.

I'm unfamiliar with the Tresspasser DLC nor the comixs. My understanding, now, is that we need Baldy's help to defeat the two elder gods. Unexpected, since I was read to smash his egg head. Still, I don't see how "his old / current" creepy army can help to kill off the two nasties.
BTW, do the two elder gods now have physical bodies?

The big reveal in Trespasser is that the Evanuris, the elvhen pantheon, are actually just a bunch of powerful elf-mages that elevated themselves to rulers and eventually deities. So they do have physical bodies, although like Mythal, they can survive the death of their physical bodies. One popular theory is that the original elves- including probably Solas- were spirits from the Fade who manifested physical bodies. So yeah, physical bodies.

Surely there are other better suited candidates for the position? Well of course the potential candidates got thinned out somewhat by the explosion and the Conclave. Nevertheless, it would seem there were enough survivors to be politicking over it. After all that is where Vivienne is using her court contacts and, of course, stabby Leliana blackmails her rival's supporters. For some reason, probably either Leliana or Josephine influencing things, the clergy seemed to think the Divine should come from the Inquisition and we get asked our opinion because of the whole (false) Herald persona, which they continued to promote even after we knew the truth. However, I do think there should have been one more option and that was Mother Giselle, simply because she actually was a member of the clergy and I do think she was far more politically savvy than she let on. She certainly knew how to sing at exactly the right moment! On the other hand, they should never have made Vivienne an option as it was crazy to think the clergy would ever vote in a mage no matter what her connections. 900 years of opposing mages in positions of power overturned despite the fact that the previous Divine had been killed in a magical explosion caused by an Ancient Magister and all the subsequent troubles involving his cult of mage supremists (not forgetting the actions of Anders in DA2). Calling it absurd and illogical doesn't really do it justice.

Has he got them secreted away somewhere in the Crossroads, where they will be safe from the effects, awaiting the Veil to drop? I know he is not meant to trust anyone but you would think that at least the ones he sent to scoop up the idol were trustworthy enough to place on guard to prevent interruptions. (Unless he killed them like he did Felassan for their failure, although it wasn't their fault exactly.) This is why I wonder if he wasn't expecting our little band to turn up when they did. After all, he left the eluvian open from Minrathous to Arlathan. Why? However, if his followers are still active in the world then I doubt we will learn of it until he is ready to reveal it to us, if at all. I imagine everyone is on a need to know basis.

She certainly knew how to sing at exactly the right moment! I’d say more Leliana than Josephine if there was any influencing. Leliana is a Chantry sister and the Left Hand of the previous Divine. Though I can see how the Chantry would come to that decision naturally. The Inquisition helped stop the Mage-Templar War and the Orlesian Civil War within a few months of it coming into being. I’d argue against your notion of us “knowing the truth” of being a false Herald. I like how the game argues that you still can be, it’s just the Maker working indirectly.

Those articles are sad. I know we live in a clickbait economy but what a waste of time for the writer and the readers. I hope the promotion will kick up because I'm really bored.

Well they did say this week wouldn't really have anything new but next week will have "deeper dives" so we'll see. Generally seems like we're in a bit of a lull right now - haven't been any answers in discord Q&A in a while either. Probably waiting for the next big thing (SDCC?).

I mean, I'm certainly not going to act all conservative and cry about nudity - that being said, "implied nudity" is often more than enough for me. I'm neither appalled nor appreciative of the dangly or not-so-dangly bits. So the news for me is more "oh okay, cool". I am happy for those that really want it, and hope that for those who don't like it there might be some kind of blur toggle or something?

Not because in-game nudity offends my moral sensibilities or anything. Rather, it's the most significant place where computer animation fails to properly depict the displayed activities in a way that's either pleasantly stylized or realistic, leaving them in the Uncanny Valley. Instead of immersion, one gets the unsubtle sense that the devs are smashing barbie dolls together.

As an european i am way more ok with nudity even full nudity rather than gore stuff like beheading a enemy. Yeah that is still crazy for me that a simple penis so much worse than a gore splatter fest.

Awful, I know right? Let me tell you some bodies in those nudity allowed beaches are frightening to look at. Geriatric medicine hasn't a hope in hell to make any improvements.
A toggle costs time, resources and money. Why? The studio must create two versions of the same scene... and we know EA is "cash strapped" and thus so is Bio. Plus, I didn't read a hue and cry against BG3 with their nudity scenes. The "spicy" is probably cinematics where the dangly bits will be on display... but that's as far as it goes.... you should know about marketing and how they love to tease. Honestly, based on past Bio titles, DAV won't beat BG3 regarding "spicy"... of the two, I think Bio will remain the more conservative studio.

Modern / recent 3d Hentai futa will show you different. I swear they must have a warehouse full of GPUs for the AI program to produce something in a reasonable amount of time (week?). EA must have them to come up with their recent works . Plus the big wigs at EA are thinking/ already have about climbing into the AI bandwagon ....... we can change the pitch of the voices of Rook, as far as I can recall.

I personally think the toggle is a bit pointless. It covers the skin, but it doesn't cover the sex scene animations. No idea what it does exactly ? There's always the good old close your eyes and spray your screen with holy water. In BG3 and Cyberpunk all the toggle do is hide the breasts/genitalia with clothing. It doesn't alter the sex scene beside that and while BG3 ones fade to black before anything really 18+ happens (except Minthara unless they changed it from early access)., Cyberpunk is a lot more implicit and visual even with clothes on, so yes, prudes have to close their eyes and spray their screen with holy water....
So the toggle is pointless to censure the act of sex itself, it basically only hide female nipples (since genitalia are rarely seen even if they aren't covered).
