x.com/GambleMike/status/1825926716755521581It seems the mage has an additional weapon type, although the orb could function in a similar way to the staff, as mauls, greatswords and greataxes do for two handed warriors.

I guess I have to play a Mage for my first PT now ( I always end up playing mage). Sorry Warrior and Rogue, but you lack sparkles and shiny spells. By the way, I think nature staff are back. We can see lightning and frost staff and then the green stuff that is clearly not fire... You know it makes sense mag eis always the let's look cool class at least t ome. It's why I always play my firs tcharacter as one .Bu tyeah I'm looking forward to my cute blonde Grey Warden mage when the gam eis ou tand I finish my Origins warden and my Hawke first before I get to my rogue Inquisitor

It was nice to see a few snippets of mage combat but I think I will need to see more, including the ability wheel, to know how much I would enjoy it. Hopefully today we get the high level warrior combat though. We are getting tha tthis ewe kit's just a case of when. Also, is the orb really a weapon? There was a tweet by Corinne Busche where she mentioned Orb toss, but it was one of the mage spells.

Raytracing preview (plus mage sneak peek) It seems like mage gameplay is just as attack-oriented and "action-y" as I feared. I'm glad I decided to recast my Inquisitor instead (as one of the last true mages).

I'm glad I decided to recast my Inquisitor instead (as one of the last true mages). If you wanted the slow pew-pewing with the staff while you can't move of the previous games you can still do that. The basic staff attack still lobs tiny balls of magic from the look of that level 1 gameplay, and just don't walk around. It should feel pretty similar.

You did? I know there's a firm comment that can be said to kosta, but when did the little duck get in the face of the asari? This is false. I've completed playthrough's without using the power wheel with the squadmates defeating the baddies. The same with the previous da games. In all 6 games, the squadmates and companions damaged the enemy a lot more than what was seen in MEA and the first DAV gameplay video. hahahahaha, no. If they were fighting cohesive, the little duck wouldn't have to do nearly all the damage in the fights. With what was shown from the gameplay video, it doesn't look like it. And I via Shepard had to do most of the damage in the trilogy, especially during Mass Effect 2. That is how this works isn't it? In the original Mass Effect trilogy you absolutely can make Shepard a support character and let your companions do the bulk of the actual damage. Very few players ever do this for obvious reasons, but its very doable in all three games. And it actually gets EASIER the harder the difficulty level because the higher the difficulty the more the enemies try to target Shepard allowing you to draw aggro freeing your companions to do damage. Its a lot of fun actually and really makes you appreciate the squamates and teamwork aspect of the game. But nearly everyone just treats Mass Effect as a shooter and does all the work themselves.

like no Qunari in the trailer either...so we'll have to see. As an addition to my previous thoughts on this, I've been studying the tarot deck in Kala Elizabeth's analysis trailer and there are two with distinctive Qunari on them, so I think you can rest assured they are going to feature at some point. There is a third which looks like a Qunari with a strange green helmet fronting the Antaam with green shields, but it is a bit weird looking so possibly doesn't relate to the current Antaam but something else possibly the big green horned skeleton in its past life.

An orb toss? So, like a magical grenade? A holy hand grenade, even? OMG, yes, please! On a three-second cooldown, i suspect. No more, no less. Three shall be the cooldown and the count of the cooldown shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

I've been looking at the trailer again; the shot where an elf mage is confronting a Sentinel. Could that be a mage Rook? I don't think so, because it looks to be the same elf trapped in the tentacle things earlier in the trailer. I was thinking Strife, but it's hard to tell if there's any vallaslin. Just wanted to mention, Strife isn't a mage (unless he has been hiding his skill up to now), so it couldn't be him attacking the sentinel. I suppose it could be Irelin. I thought for one crazy moment it could be Solas because they seemed to have similar shoulder pads but I don't think the mage is bald. Of course, it could be a flash-back to a younger Solas. I don't think it was the same as the one in the tentacles either. I think that had hair more like Bellara, done in a bun, which is why I wondered if it might be someone she knew as perhaps all her clan have similar hairstyles.

I already kind of expected what was going to be shown due to the three-spell limit, and the talk of Elemental Bomb, Mage Beam, bolts, magical blasts, and Orb Toss. I am more lamenting the larger variety of control and debuff and support spells, where we could formerly create pure support builds. Even with Inquisition's focus on making the spell trees seventy-five percent Primal School, the Inquisitor could still be built without a single damaging spell. But thanks for the suggestion.

Anyone hear anything about the Night Blades (plural) for the Reaper specialization?

I don't know where I got the idea that Strife was using magic now. I thought the hairstyle was similar to the one in the tentacles, but the angle and lighting are so bad, I could definitely be wrong. I thought I saw the same shaved sides on both.

x.com/GambleMike/status/1825926716755521581It seems the mage has an additional weapon type, although the orb could function in a similar way to the staff, as mauls, greatswords and greataxes do for two handed warriors. An orb? I wonder if that's what Irelin is doing in the trailer. Hmm. For reference. If this is the orb weapon, I may have to change my plans from being a dagger mage. This thing is awesome.

I think you should be able to slot 3 supports/debuffing spells (healing is coming back and one of the mage skill web section is called control). I also expect itemization too have features to add CC to frost and stuff like that, maybe some item runes add party buffs too. We might even have more items like the staff Encore in DAI. And boo, I just realized with GI getting nuked that all the images of the skill webs are gone with it.

What's this? A mage video with a wide variety of long range spells to cast. Imagine my shock.
Now all I gotta worry about is what they did with the bow rogue.
