Can I ask which decade you were born so that I can make an unreasonably biased guess at "why" you like purple?
I was born in the early eighties, and I am over forty.
Same!!!

Are you just teasing because of terminology? Should I have said violet? Anyway, the base color produced as a combination of blue and red is my favorite.
I am not teasing.
Purple (and magenta) doesn't exist as a light or as a single wavelength.
When you see purple - it's essentially your brain playing a trick on you and inventing a color because your eyes can't perceive properly the wavelength mixture.

It always warms my heart when I see people saying that DA2 is their favorite DA game. It's highly unlikely but I hope one day there will be DA2 remake.
I think ther needs t ob eon efo rboth DAO and DA2 tbh. Especiall ywit hth eammount o ftime Origins crashes on modern hardware.
I'm being selfish here, because i replayed DAO recently and while the game crashed from time to time, it was fine for the most part. But i understand that there are people who are not as lucky as me.

First, I want to mention that tone doesn't always come across, so I want to explicitly state that I am not trying to be rude. This is a learning moment.
I did read that using the word violet is okay, because it is stated to be an actual color. Admittedly, it is designated as having more blue (but as I said I like the whole range).
You mention the brain playing tricks, but one source I looked says: "Although purple isn’t a spectral color in the makeup of light, it is a color that can exist naturally and in the visible spectrum, so our brains evolved the ability to perceive it."
I'm genuinely going to buy the game and play the game, reviews be blarfed. I'm fully expecting to like DA2 better than Veilguard, because thus far I like it better than Origins and DA:I and that's okay. I still like the other games as well, so even if I don't think that Veilguard is the best thing ever, I'm still going to like it at least as much as Origins.
There still are not many games, especially AAA games, where you get the choice to play as a woman who falls in love and saves the world. For that reason alone I expect to enjoy Veilguard. (The cooked egg is nice side benefit too I guess… love me some good food lol…)
And yeah, DA2 is a wonderful game. I mean I love all three for different reasons, but there’s something very special about DA2 despite its rushed development time.

Any positive posts on social media to be met with arguments that it's 'woke garbage'
The ending of the game to be shared on social media (with thumbnails) once the first physical disk leaks.
I don't expect the coming weeks will be pretty.
What will be interesting to see is how 'average gamers' react to the noise, how good the reviews are and whether they drop early and whether DAV picks up any GOTY nominations.
It probably doesn't matter if a game polarises if it also finds its audience, there are more than enough gamers to go around. BioWare marketing's job will be to find ways to cut through that noise.
the last one will be the toughest even with my complicated opinion on spoilers. And since even with all the time off I'll probably still not finish the game till December.

TLDR - I was actually making a joke about the "trick color purple" and what hidden Veilguard message it may have. Like "there is no spoon", "Veil is purple, so it's just an illusion we play on ourselves", or whatever.
Long boring response - what you say doesn't disprove my statement. Quite the contrary.
Our eyes perceive different wavelengths of light as different colors, but that doesn't mean every color we perceive has its own wavelength. There's no single wavelength of light that you can create to shine "pure purple light". We perceive purple when our eyes sense both red and blue light.
Usually our eyes see loads of different wavelengths and more or less average them out. But red and blue are on opposite ends of the visible spectrum, and blue + red doesn't look like the midpoint between them, which would be some shade of green. Instead our brain tells our eyes to perceive red light and blue light together as something else - and decides to show it as purple. This has some evolutionary logic to it as well, because it helps us distinguish certain plants or animals against the green foliage background. If purple was instead shown more as the proper "greenish" by our brain, we might have been in more trouble out in the jungle.
In a sense - many colors are what our brain tells us they are due to the most efficient evolutionary interpretation of mixed wavelengths. If our brain decided "purple" is not good for our survival, it would have invented another color to show us at that wavelength mix.
So yes, the wavelength mix that we call "purple" exists naturally and our brains perceive it. But we don't see it as "greenish" due to our brain having a better idea and telling us otherwise.
Some people actually have the ability to see wavelength mixes as the more proper logical colors. Their brains are probably not fun at parties.
Edit: It's funny that Veilguard is "purple". Because DAO was "brown" and that color actually has a lot more issues of "not existing" than purple. I sense a pattern.

I took time off - a total of 5 days to get through my first PT. It's gonna be tough, but I managed to plat AC Odyssey in 10 days - no way DAV is as bloated as Odyssey. I can do it!

think the two games will wind up in the same ballpark.
Though I never did 100%...well any game...but still think I came close with Odyssey.

For as barebones as the environments were, I think it's my most replayed Dragon Age game. I think I've most of beaten it at least 4 times.
For that reason it's been many many years since I paid any attention to the world of game reviews. Does Gamespot still give any game that's getting 8/9's from everywhere else a 6/7 review? It was like clockwork. Always felt like clickbait.
Okay, so I'm not the only one who's thought this as well. Whenever I've seen their reviews, it always gave an air of 'man, tough crowd with these folks'. I don't readily look at their reviews (or any tbh).

If that ends up being the case, then I can't complain about more DA. Yet, I do hope it's not just bloat missions and really DOES add to the overall story as they have stated.

Probably my most replayed DA game as well. The pace is just right somehow.

I was musing on that very thing.
To preface though I'll say that Odyssey is a game that I consider to be one of the four 'gold standards' in side quest design. It had that trickle down effect where a lot of them did end up mattering for one of the main story arcs which then served to help define the rest of them and there were still some neat concepts.
But I'm encouraged by what we have seen which admittedly may not be a lot but still note worthy given my impressions.
1. They have mentioned that the side content is curated. Hard to Guage since theoretically we haven't actually seen a lot of it...but what if we have? What if the blighted dragon trailer is a side quest? But regardless I made the comment awhile back wondering how tight this game was, since they seem quite content showing off some big spoilers even before the preview event how much they could show if a lot of the side quests also spoiled something. Admittedly though this is my shakiest point.
2. Collections and repetitive taskd can be hit or miss but they can be fun if they have practical effects on gameplay. The bottles of Thedas were just a time sink. However for VG we know that one mechanic involves us collecting lore to upgrade the Caretaker. Most of us love lore, upgrading the Caretaker should be important and thus should be fun.
3. It seems like each companion will have tasks to do with them. Like solving cases with Neve and think assassin contracts with Lucanis. Keeping in mind the above while these could get repetitive it probably exists to boost your affinity with them and thus I prefer it to gift giving since you are doing thing with them rather then just gifts.

Companions will obviously have personal story quests, but did Bioware say that they will also have repeatable ones?
Dragon Age 2 is definitely my favourite DA game to pick up and play. I love Origins, but Ostagar and Lothering have eaten up many a promising save.
Veilguard may have many problems, but I sense it may be similar to DA2 in that regard.
Two problems in DA2: the Carta dropping from the sky and repeatable dungeons. Both were eventually accepted as "part of the game" because the rest more than made up for these two design quirks. And, I really enjoyed DA2 because of its AUTO attack mode.
