I'm also unsure how these short stories = the Dread Wolf Rises = the Bio trailer ===> DA4. As usual, Bio's messaging of the DWR is all about firing up the imagination with no meaty substance to back it up. The pragmatist in me says 'don't be fooled'. Still, I would welcome a full blown DA RPG... with replay-ability, mind you.
Speaking of which the SWJ: Fallen Order has a Metacritic score of 90. No user review scores yet. I understand the single player campaign is about 12 hrs long. Kinda short, imo and it has some puzzles. Frankly, I hate puzzles. If you get stuck, you can't proceed any further. Something that happened to me with DA:I.

Where?
I was going to say the elven caves in the north of the Exalted Plains with the widely spaced switches had stopped my progress ... but ...
Then I remembered saying SCREW IT on my last playthrough a few months ago (using a controller), as the treasure was likely less powerful than what I had already crafted. So I skipped the puzzle after a few hours of frustration.
I recall that puzzle being easier with a mouse getting everyone stand and stay on switches.

Where?
I'm coming up blank in regard to required puzzles in the main quest missions. You can get by without the stupid halla statues at the ball and bypass the tiles at the temple by jumping in the hole instead.

What else?
That bloody area/temple where you had to stand on some switches. Your companions would not stand still on the assigned switch and would walk off..... Uhg!!

Never had a problem with that Issuing a command was all it took to make them stand in place.

What magic is this!? I can never get my squad to stand still!
One day, the magic will come back. All of it. Everyone will be just like they were. The shadows will part, and the skies will open wide. When he rises, everyone will see. -Sandal Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a world to save. Again. -Inquisitor
I'd forgotten that one. Probably because I don't even try doing it anymore since I've never been able to get it to work. The hold position command stops functioning when the controlled character reaches a certain distance. Good thing it's optional.
Used to have a similar problem in the Temple of Mythal. On low-CPU machines the floor tile puzzles randomly reset after a minute or so, which isn't enough time to complete all of them. (Can't imagine what's going on under the hood there.) Fortunately, the problem went away when I went from a dual-core Athlon to an i7. Before that I just had to give up and bypass the whole thing, which didn't make RP sense for all my Inquisitors unless the puzzles being unfair is an in-universe thing.

This one happened to me in Trespasser. There's that one timed puzzle in the Vir Dirthara; one character needs to pick up a torch, another interact with an Eluvian for area transition. Respawning Qunari and characters spontaneously dropping torches for no reason made me give up on the treasure chest. Got the elemental longsword schematic later from a downloaded savegame.
Also, on PC, party members appear to cancel the hold order if bumping into each other. That bumping happens a lot, especially in soft dialogues.
Last time I did the Dead Hand, I did everything in tactical camera "planning mode" and it worked far better than real-time.

Definitely a trouble spot due to poor controls but not required in any way so could not stop you from continuing or finishing the game.

I had issues with this as well until I found just the right graphics settings. Had nothing to do with time but rather how the images are loaded (or not). If they load too slowly, the PC movement isn't accounted for and the game thinks you skipped a tile (or something equally stupid).

I never use a second person for that one. My Inquisitor lights the torch, jumps down and makes a beeline for the gate. You should be able to avoid qunari in the way if you don't activate the stairs in that area until everything else is done.

Called it ...
Is this switch standing easier with a mouse than with a controller???

I managed to get it done on earlier PC playthroughs with a mouse, but gave up on my last playthrough using a controller.

Ah, thanks. Yeah, that fits my experience. That Athlon was only driving a 6670, which couldn't keep up. No complaints since that rig had no business running DAI in the first place.
You need to use the 'hold position' command on the radial wheel twice to get companions to stay put, and every time you switch characters you need to tell them to hold again. Alternatively, you can double tap the 'move' button in tactical view and they should hold position indefinitely (until your currently controlled player moves too far away, then they'll teleport to you). And I'm pretty sure the Temple of Mythal puzzles are affected by performance, because they kept resetting a lot when I tried to record them (which tanked my framerate) but worked fine otherwise.

Thanks for the controller advice.

Sylvf @sylvf1 I've finally hit my 10th year at BioWare! Looking forward to ditching the slightly awkward phrase "I've been here almost ten years" in favor of "Decade and counting, baybee!"
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes It has been a great decade with you, ma’am. Here’s to knocking this next one out of the park together.
Brianne Battye 🦇 @bbattye Dragon Age: Inquisition is 5 today. Wow. DAI was my first full-length game (worked on ME3 DLC before that) and making it was a journey. It is still very dear to me.

Solas inviting us to tea? That’s either an imposter or a death threat. Can’t decide.
(Lovely font tho)
That's just Patrick trolling us, "Tea soon" = "Too soon".
Patrick’s threatening us with “soon”. Got it.
I’ll admit my solavellan hellspiralling self is gratified by it anyway. Lol
To go into csi mode for a second, I love that there is so much solas stuff in the clutter. His tower card, the paint splash in the upper right. Its neat.
Is that netting in the top right? And what are those coins depicting? I assume they’re gold dragons but my inq CE is at home at the moment ao i cant check the coin to see if it matches.
Edit: wait. Sovereigns. Not Dragons. Wrong fantasy fandom. Lol
