Yes, this particular meeting room is named Solas. They have 3 floors of an office tower and multiple meeting rooms so I imagine they're all named after characters so people remember where they're supposed to meet other members of their team.
They're *mostly* named after locations in BW games, this is one of the few exceptions. There is one called The Hinterlands but I don't like to book meetings there - people tend to get stuck in there for far too long instead of just advancing their crit path making decisions.
I imagine this Solas room is where you all make all the plans you end up sadly regretting later?

I like to imagine this gif playing on the screen before the meeting starts

JosieStilinskiBee @thewahnring @patrickweekes sooo... I have a question : if an elf and a human can have a child, could a dwarf and an elf or human do so too? And more importantly : can it happen with a qunari? Does a qunari/human child have horns? Do they get out of the womb with them?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes I get asked this periodically, and while I have an answer, I’d prefer not to say yet, not because it’s a giant spoiler, but because I don’t want to answer until we’ve definitely locked it into the game. Until that happens, it could still change.

Well, we know that human and dwarf offspring are a thing, at least according to Saga of Tyrdda Bright-Axe, Avvar-Mother. According to it the Avvar are descendants of Tyrdda and the dwarven prince. Which is interesting, given Avvar non-dwarfish size...

Just like real life creatures with horns, qunari are born without them. They're born with nubs and the horns grow in later - Cole and Bull have some dialogue about it.

I wonder if there’s a magical component here - whether a child from such union is possible (making qunari effectively different species), or maybe it’s of a race of non-qunari parent, like in case of elves.

Is there a Harbinger room? Each time an employee walks in they have to say ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL.

Ann Leckie ☕ @ann_leckie My husband and I never baby talk to our kids. They emerged from their vats fully grown with all human knowledge and skills implanted in their brains because we would be ashamed to have ordinary offspring. They know better than to embarrass us by behaving like any other kid.
🐉Melissa 🏹Janowicz 🐲 deedlite I never baby talk to my kids. They were developed in Frostbite without knowledge of childhood, with a robust locomotion set, advanced AI, huge stats and abilities to handle any combat situation. They know better than to embarrass me by losing in a fight with a kid.
Jos Hendriks @sjosz Me prototyping a thing: "Dang, why/how does @patrickweekes write so much banter for me for this?" Also me: "Hey @patrickweekes can you give me like a dozen more banter lines for this?"

Objection to this line your honour... "...advanced AI, .... and abilities to handle any combat situation..."

Doc @hiccupinglasses @patrickweekes I'm sorry to bother you but can you help? I have an essay for class&I chose DA for my media. One q we have to answer: is the author effectively conveying the intended message? But I'm not sure what it is, if any. The effects of Corruption? God-Complex? Fanaticism?
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes For DAI specifically, or the DA franchise as a whole?
Doc @hiccupinglasses Mostly as a whole, though if it helps to narrow it down to one game/book, then DAI is fine. And bless you for answering. I appreciate it.
If it helps, the class is Cultural Rhetoric. We're currently going over colonialism & the ensuing cultural erasure, & I had thought about comparing what's in the game to rl history.
However, I wasn't sure if it was an intentional move on the writers' parts or not, or if it was even a major takeaway "message."
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes It's hard for the entire series, because the entire series has dozens of writers and a bunch of products, each of which had its own theme.
As an off-the-cuff answer, Dragon Age as a whole usually believes:
-Big things happen for what are ultimately human reasons -Organizations are large, messy, and corruptible -Power of any kind does not come without a price -Nobody's perfect, but everyone's worth fighting for
But even those are "usuallys".
For your cultural points: In at least DAO and DAI, you can see cultural erasure -- striking Shartan from the Chant of Light, Dalish attempts to retain culture, etc. But I don't know that we do enough of that to be a core theme.
Patrick Weekes @patrickweekes "If you could just go ahead and let me restore the elven people even if it means the end of the world as you know it, that'd be great."

Jos Hendriks @sjosz I'd forgotten how much fun it is to prototype and to just work with whatever you have to try and sell an idea. I've already had one co-worker tell me I look like I'm having too much fun.

Is Patrick sitting back thinking, "You're not the boss of me!"
Emily (aka Domino) Taylor pentapod #TFW you want to open up another level in the editor, but then you think "I should save THIS level I'm working on first, JUST in case..." so you hit save and then you open up the other level and the entire editor crashes to desktop. #gamedev

Gosh, I know this so well. At this point frequently saving files and creating duplicates is basically a compulsion.
