I wouldn't worry about that. We're - at the absolute most - four months out from launch. I assume the content was locked down some time ago, especially stuff that requires the participation of actors, voice directors, and audio people. They're bug squashing and fiddling around the edges at this point. (Incidentally, this is why stuff like nobody reacting to Lavellan's entire clan being killed in a war table mission until Trespasser happened. They added a lot of the DAI war table missions after all the voice acting was done.) Yeah. Short of some content receiving a late cut (and then requiring new lines), I imagine it should be dialed in now. Something I'm sure they'll avoid now, if at all possible. Yeah I'm sure most if no tall the VA work isdone now otherwise I doubt the VA's would have attended the comic con .So I doub tVeilguard wil lbe affected the next ME though could be a different story as it depends on how far into production of that they are. Bu then I think that jus tmeans even more that they need to get Veilguard right but I think they have and will we just need to se emoer inf oon the game especially different gameplay suchas mage or warrior and th eCC. I suspect the next we hear from them info wise though will be to give us a release date given they can't leave it muc hlonger given August is the final month of Summer and we're only 2 days away

So I doub tVeilguard wil lbe affected the next ME though could be a different story as it depends on how far into production of that they are. ME would still be in Pre-Production, so it should be fine unless the strike goes on for years. Veilguard marketing/promotions & DLC (if they're making any) could be impacted though, depending on how long it goes.

Derek Wilks @deremix Just wanted to say, interacting with all you DA fans and seeing so much love and support from the community for the game is really amazing. This is my first AAA game reveal, and I think I couldn’t have picked a better community to be part of. Thank you all. 🧡
I haven’t been super active since the reveal, been heads down making cool shit for the game. But I have been watching and loving everything I see from you all. Can’t wait to show more! You’ll see more of me when we’re revealing more. 🫡

John Epler is at SDCC @eplerjc.bsky.socialcan’t wait for the rest of gamespot’s ‘romance, befriend, banish’ interview to get released because that was genuinely some of the most fun I’ve had in a while you can see a clip of it on Twitter, Facebook or TikTok! (Posted earlier) bears can strike at any time this will make a lot more sense once you see the interview I promise - uh oh.

The bears comment gives me the impression that a romance/sex scene happens in a forest (Bellara? As Arlathan is her 'home area') and comedically has to be cut short, due to being interrupted by a bear. That or one of our mages can shapeshift into a bear and we have another Halsin on our hands.

Veilguard marketing/promotions & DLC (if they're making any) could be impacted though, depending on how long it goes. To be honest I don't think they will. I think they put everything into the main game and once it is shipped a core team will be left to deal with any bugs and patches but the rest will transfer over to ME. I think that was the streamlining they were talking about back last year when they were making the layoffs.

Bears in Dragon Age games make me instantly think of the Hinterlands, especially Hafter's Wood... Also the Storm Coast. The place was crawling with bears. I've already mentioned on an earlier post how I set myself the challenge of getting from one end to the other without confronting and killing any bears. It wasn't easy. Guess we haven't seen the last of Yogi, although given how lethal our PC can be he shouldn't attack considering he is "smarter than the average bear". (I'm really showing my age here).

Saw this on the Discord. The conversation was about choices having long winded consequences and loading up old saves having to redo hours of the game/starting from scratch to to avoid them.
BIO_brenon I mean... we do have "decision saves" before big choice moments, but there are still a bunch that depend on a whole mess of stuff you've done earler... so... yeah... RIP 😛
So guess choices that affect things aren’t just going to be the obvious stuff.

Exclusive Interview with The Directors of Dragon Age: The VeilguardWill there be returning characters? Will the light prevail against the darkness? Will our comic book and graphic novel knowledge of Dragon Age finally come into play? I love the sentence: "Finding the light in the dark." Perfekt as an answere.

So guess choices that affect things aren’t just going to be the obvious stuff. That's nothing new. Who would have guessed just standing back and observing how Leliana does her job (instead of interfering when I was new to the team) would result in her murdering a member of the clergy way down the line despite me telling her not to? Or that getting a War Table decision wrong would result in the death of my entire clan? Didn't see that one coming. Too much water under the bridge to simply reload an earlier save. Just made sure I got it right next play through. We also had the impact of certain decisions we made in all three MET games only become apparent in the final one. It is good though, when you find out that some decision from an earlier game did result in a different/better outcome than if you hadn't made it. Mind you, I only ever discover that by going on the Wiki or coming to these boards. What I am hoping is that there isn't going to be some heart icon prompt and if I don't take it there and then, however inappropriate I feel the moment is, I will lose the option to romance that character (or they will hook up with someone else first). I still prefer DAO where the general dialogue was separate from the romance dialogue and it was much easier to decide if and when you wanted to pursue it. Hopefully, it will be more flexible this time round.

The worst one for me is still leaving Alistair a Warden (like he wanted) resulting in having to choose between letting either him or your Hawke die.
I had to redo my whole playthrough and make my first and only big canon change to avoid that. I'm all for choices mattering, but I still think that was a cruel one - would have made more sense to have the Warden role be played by your sibling (if alive and a Warden) or Stroud if not.
Yes, I will be forever salty about that one.

Yes? Am I missing something? No, if you take a literal view of things, whoever you left in the Fade was going to face the spider monster alone in the Nightmare Demon's realm, so their chances of survival were negligible. Thus, they are missing assumed dead. However, Leliana could come back from having her head cut off, Flemeth returned after we killed her and other people have come back too after they were thought to be dead, so unless you've seen them buried and turned into a bunch of bones or burned to a crisp, nothing is terminal in Thedas. It is possible we could encounter them in the Fade but I doubt it. The CC asks us to recreate our Inquisitor, not Hawke, so if we left them in the Fade, I think they're gone. Luckily my first run the choice was between Hawke and Stroud so it was no contest. I tried reloading just before the decision to see what happened if I left Hawke and honestly Varric was so cut up about it, there is no way I could do it. I avoided using my Alistair Warden world state as a result as I didn't want to sacrifice him either and do that to my Warden who romanced him. All I can say is that I'm glad they didn't make it a choice between Hawke and the Hero of Ferelden. I have a sneaky suspicion that was originally the plan but they decided against it.

I get that the writers can ressurects people if the plot demands it, but as it was framed in the moment and in the subsequent Keep image whomever you left is dead. They also said if you didn't banish the Wardens they could still be in danger of control by Corypheus but that didn't happen and if you did banish them then they were shunned across Thedas, which wasn't my intent at all, whilst if you keep them with the Inquisition they are still heroes. So, I take a dim view of anything they allege either in game or in the Keep until it is confirmed in the next game. That said, I agree that probability suggests this time they were telling the truth.

By comparison, DA:I had 88,000 lines of dialogue. Not sure if this is obvious to others here, but do keep in mind that these lines probably include all the different Inquisitor voices as well. So we keep it strictly to one Inquisitor, this number is probably less (same with the other games).

I have to admit the game bears do tend to be rather slow. Big though. I like shapeshifting into a bear too and summoning an army of bears with my rogue companions when we have all taken the Ranger spec. Nostalgic sigh. I do miss DAO.
