Kind of thought I would go dark today but instead here I am sticking around viewing non-story-spoiler content (btw thanks everyone for keeping stuff tagged and separated into other threads). Glad I was able to view the CC and get a feel for the variety of characters we can make.
Only other thing I'm curious about at this point would be dialogue options/choices. Wondering if anyone who has looked at stuff could say (without spoilers) if it seems like we get a good variety of options? For example, is a morally gray character possible (strongly considering Antivan Crow first PT but probably won't if we are locked into lawful good)? Also do the choices seem like they will have real consequences?

Saw an IGN interview, "how Dragon Age learned from the Sims Character Creator". Huh. I was interested until they said "character creator", like the Sims isn't already a decade behind in that regard and is about to be blown away by Inzoi. "Dragon Age’s character creator is extensive, allowing players to adjust physical characteristics including chest size, the crookedness of a character’s nose, and whether or not their eyes are bloodshot, among other features." *Rolls eyes* Highlighting features that's been part of games for a decade now. Oh how IGN's journalism has fallen Well you say that, but BG3 - the most successful recent RPG that DAVe is already aggressively compared to - has no such sliders for either face or body. At all. Just a set of faces we can't change anything about, save for basics (eyes, freckles, skintone, scars, make up, tattoos). If you want a custom face, you gotta use mods. Also, no Sims game can come close to quality level of models or cinematics those characters will be visible in. So I think it's mostly impressive on that front.

Seems like some kind of evolution or progression of Telltale's "he will remember that" system but that was never really used well. It does look like there's a nice variety of dialogue options though

Also do the choices seem like they will have real consequences? It's hard to tell how the whole game will be in that regard, but yes, according to people who played the game there were consequences for at least some of your choices. And Corinne Busche said in the interview, that Act II is when you'll really see the consequences of choices that you made in Act I.

Good to hear there is good variety of options.

Time to complete game? No precise answer, but apparently somewhere between Origins & Inquisition to complete. But if you want to 100% the game - Weeks. So by complete they mean main quests only or with some side content? Pretty much means someone will be done with Inquisition by Friday/Saturday thought and I expect some bad ending out of it if it is anything like speedrunning throught ME2/ME3 (and DA2 kinda). And weeks is rather vague, people don't play the same amount of hours per weeks. I don't even play the same amount of hours pfrom week to week.

Also do the choices seem like they will have real consequences? The plots seems to be pretty tight vs the big bads, so morally gray might not have that many options. Looks to be similar to DAI where you can a jerk sometimes, but most of the time you are there to fix things/save people. As for consequences, there seems to be a lots of choices with them, some with smaller consequences, some with much bigger ones. And I've seen a previewer complain the game is telling you too much about "you did X before and this is the result" when they happen.

Not spoilers, talking about some mage abilities, but to be on the safe side: For those worried about Fire and Lightning not being as prominent, I've seen Chain Lightning + a bunch of Spellblade stuff that's storm-themed. At least two fire abilities, Wall of Fire and Meteor ( ), and for us Ice Mages: Ice Blast, Dark Squall, Frost Nova and some sort of Ice Wall-attack (with ice spikes erupting from the ground) that had me slippin' and slidin' on my seat. It should be *absolutely* possible to make a traditional / "pure mage" build. Here's the Ultimate for Spellblade, "Thunderous End": For Invoker, "Vortex of Shadow": And finally, for Death Callers we have "The Crypt's Herald":

So I've had the chance to listen to a number of Hands-on Preview videos throughout the day. Generally take so far is that, at worst, the game is seen with a bit of tepidness. For the majority, they're generally optimistic, and in the best case scenario there's a handful who have come away quite excited about it. WolfheartFPS (YouTuber) was the person I listened to who had the most critique-filled assessment of the game, and who is fairly tepid (or mixed) about it. The most glowing assessment I've heard came from the Kinda Funny Games Youtube channel, where one of its hosts said it's a GotY contender for them (assuming the quality holds for the first of the game). Overall, it seems like BioWare might actually be eyeing a potential W in their corner. I also hear that it's rare to have a 6-hour preview; that reviewers are lucky if they get 2 hours, 4 at max. Bioware being confident with what they have in Veilguard has been mentioned several times.
May have to do with the length of the tutorial section.

I normally don't give a crap about combat, but this looks fun. I'm mostly just excited that we can finally cast with our hands now.
