If this is accurate, it firms up the last week of October as the release window, assuming the book coming out the week after. In which case, I hope they pull the trigger and give us a Halloween release day! (Friday would be more convenient for me than Tuesday since that would mean I could start on Saturday local time and have nine full days to get through the game before heading back to work.) similar boat with the 5th of November, which i already put in time around then so I'd get at least two full days to play it on my end. Eyeing my holidays as well. I'm just hoping that when they do give us a release date that it's a solid one and doesn't slip at the 11th hour.

TFAW.com (where I get all my DA comics) is letting me pre-order the art book. It has an on sale date of 11/6. Good find! The date slipped a bit, which I wondered if that might happen, but not by a lot. This is just for funsies, but before reminding myself that 'Muricans like put the month before day, it looked like it was going to slip quite a lot 😂 (June 11)

Demoncat @mornmagor@hrungry This video here, Gamestar talk channel, german, talked about DATV. The journalist claims they saw a 1hr segment with a spellblade (couldn't remember name arcane knight he calls it), armed with a sword from the beginning. Thoughts? 26:35
I have spoken about it here. for those who speak German. gamestar talk have made a dragon age video.
Edit: I try to translate importen parts out of it. - We will not zoom out further. (the reason for only 2 companions) - (if i understand correct) we can re-skill the companions. So that we can take the companions we want. - he discribed Tevinter as dark middle ages. - In the beginning you have the decision in a tavern to fight or go away. So you don't allways have to fight.
And the translation from a nice soul. - We will not zoom out further. (the reason for only 2 companions) The reasoning here is very interesting (And the person who interviewed Corinne, in this case, assumes the combat system will be one of, if not the most controversial point of DA:TV): They initially did playtests with 3 companions, but they want the camera focus to be on Rook and the player to be right in the middle of the combat action. That's why 2 companions are "necessary", due to the combat being this action-y and presumably a resulting "game breaking" lack of overview if it's 3 characters and you zoom out further. (Tbh here I am not quite sure where he paraphrased Corinne's reasoning and where it is his own assumptions and/or conclusions. That's why I put these two very interesting adjectives in "...") - (if i understand correct) we can re-skill the companions. So that we can take the companions we want.
Hmm, this was actually mentioned by Eleen, who did not talk to Corinne. She compared DA to BG3 here, where you can change the class of companions to whatever you want, but that it wouldn't make sense for DA, especially with what implications being able to use magic has for someone in this world. he discribed Tevinter as dark middle ages. Dimitri actually praises DA4 for not being the next interation of "dark middle ages", for daring this "creative escape from the dark middle ages" by having this contrast of poverty, dark streets and neon magic in case of Minrathous ^^
Lastly, here are some more things I found worth mentioning which I think have not been mentioned anywhere else on here (but I am also following Felassan on tumblr, so I might mix up some things):
- There is some exposition in the beginning (which was cut from the public gameplay reveal), not through reading endless texts, but provided by Varric as you go and discover some of the old Elven ruins Tevinter is built upon and interact with Solas's murals
- Healing magic is back (but I think we knew that already?)
- In this demo Rook was a "Melee Mage" whose combat actions already looked amazing at Level 1
- At the end of the demo something significant happened, based on a decision he could make, which made him go "oof!" (for lack of better paraphrasing, I'm sorry)

The journalist claims they saw a 1hr segment with a spellblade Where does he say Spellblade? He said he saw a demo with a melee mage. He saw the beginning like us only more. The character had no specialization. What i get out of this is: the front fighter (melee mage) and ranged fighter (normal mage). We can choose which we want to play in the beginning.

Yeah, specialisations probably won't come until what's considered 'end of act 1'/'start of act 2', the rough equivalent of other DA Games, be it story or every 7 levels.
I remember we can switch weapons (and eventually loadouts?) on the fly, maybe mages can have a sword/daggers long before they can choose to be a spellblade.

Joke's on them - I'm going all out on the purple! Purple clothing, purple hair, purple eyes, and not to mention all the freaking purple bruises I plan on acquiring. Purple eyes are so cool. That is a really cool idea. But the hair coulor will be black to not over do it. That will be fun.

Maybe my family is weird, but when living with other adults, I can't imagine announcing it to everybody every time I leave the house. True but my family aren't meant to be working together to save the world/guard the Veil. Also, isn't Rook meant to be de facto leader of this little band? Surely they would at least give us a heads up. "Sorry, Rook, had a message from back in Minrathous, so I won't be available today." That's what I'm getting at. Then the obvious reply would be: "Fair enough", followed by "Anything I can help with?" if that is the sort of character your Rook is. What I'm struggling to understand is why Rook would head to Minrathous, a place with which Neve is familiar so the most obvious choice for a companion, but instead they just accidentally run into her when they get there. Perhaps we were just going for shopping trip. However, what if we got an urgent message at the Lighthouse, that demanded our attention in Minrathous. Yet, Neve is absent and we have no indication where to find her. Then we just happen to run into her there. To me it would at least make more sense that we know Neve left to attend to business in Minrathous so we actually seek her out when we get there. Then she says she is working on something important so can't help us for the present but will when she has dealt with it. So now we have the choice whether to help her, so freeing her up to assist our mission, or carry on without her. Do you see the difference in what I have described and what was in the article? The fact is the scenario they give is very contrived and doesn't suggest a team working together but, as you say, an actual family going about their every day lives and touching base occasionally, which is fine when it comes to normal every day problems but not when confronted with a threat to them all. A better analogy might be a family business where everyone pulls their weight and the head of the family does need to be kept informed if you want to take a day off to do things of your own so they can plan accordingly.

I wish we got more scenes of multiple party members just hanging out together, Hawke included. I hope Veilguard will involve Rook in these sorts of things Well they did remedy that in Inquisition with the card party, so I think they did take on board the criticism of Hawke's non inclusion in DA2. I liked that little scene in DAI and that different people could contribute to the conversation if our PC chose not to. Also, the conclusion to the game. Of course, certain individuals did not participate and that was telling too, although we learn from Blackwall's dialogue that Solas is not actually averse to card games and gambling as he taught him Diamondback and then Solas totally fleeced him. Mind you, perhaps Solas was only pretending not to know the game to begin with. Perhaps Varric had heard about Blackwall's experience and left Solas out deliberately. So, with any luck we may get some scenes like that in Veilguard, although not everyone may be in attendance.

Think we're probably reading a bit too much into these comments. The important thing is we'll bump into them in the field and can pick up their plot lines from there, the specifics of how exactly we get there, or whether or not Neve goes "hey Dad I'm going out for a bit!" isn't too important.

I need someone to ask if we’re stuck with purple armor for the entire game, cause every armor I’ve seen thus far is purple. Hoping it’s just for marketing purposes! Q: all the Rooks we've seen so far are wearing purple, please tell me we dont have to wear purple 😂 John: Everyone else can wear whatever colour they want but you, specifically, must always wear purple. - Oooh. Wait, he means to say that not Rook in general has to wear purple, just you? Awesome.

Purple started with the ME remaster. When it was released, the player can change Shepard's hair color to purple. The same for the lipstick. I don't recall femshep having the option of having purple lips unless a player is using a mod. If the color purple turns out to be popular with the fans for this game, I wouldn't be surprised if purple is seen a lot in the next ME game.

I can't tell if this is a joke post or not. Of course it's a joke. But I do believe if there's a lot of positive feedback about the color purple, the color could have a presence in the next ME game.
