I want to withhold judgement about the utility of the Mage class until we see gameplay and its skill tree. Apart from that. You guys think we'll be seeing that high-level Warrior gameplay today, or do you think they'll be keeping it for tomorrow? I don't know about today, but I like to see gameplay as a mage and/or warrior using the ability wheel taking place in some location during daylight. Also see some of the character creator. Well it was promised to us this week if th etimetavl eis right so we will see it either toda yor tomorrow

You did not use more than 5-6 spells. You used the same spell recolored as another one with a slightly different effect, or you used the same spell sequence to accomplish the same thing. Yeah sure you can use Glyph of Paralysis and Paralyze and they'd be different spells, but they do the same exact thing. How about you just have one spell that you can cast twice as often. Then merge in the Horror spell (another paralyze) by adding a dot damage effect to your Paralyze. You have 3 spells in one merged into the new Horror spell in DA2/DAI. etc etc Half true
In Origins there were too many spells for mages that were almost the same (all projectiles or cones) or barely used (weaknes, heroic X, mana drain, first 2 Hex, disorient etc) but there were also some good tactical spells we lost in the following games: Force field, mana clash, misdirection hex,
And besides the active spells we had passives (there should be in Veilguard too) and sustained, something we lost already in inquisition Sustained spells were just powerful passives (so they had to cost something). So, counting sustained spells, i'm sure i was using more than 5-6 spells...sometimes i had 5 susitained spells active at the same time
Yeah sure I particularly love Force Field for the damn Redcliffe fight if I go there before I grab Wynne. We got stuff in return though, so it wasn't an overall loss. (I'm ignoring the removal of healing spells cause ya I missed those too). They moved sustains to being passives you take. I think that's fine. I do agree there's some decision making involved in wanting to keep stuff up.

I need more examples of abilities/attacks upgrades, passives and combos. In previous games most of upgrades/passives were things like reduced cooldown, attacks bonus etc., which was fine because between our character and companions we had much more abilities at our disposal compared to what we have now. And the way the article talked about unlocking new attacks was a bit confusing.

Agreed... I'm patiently waiting for the mid level gameplay which was promised this week. It's the one thing I've been wanting to see since they revealed that Dragon Age is now an action RPG series.
